I literally watch these things like a movie. Find a chill episode, grab a bag of chips and a drink and just moss with some nine club. Id love to see an episode with greco.
I love listening to them while I'm playing my morning games of MtG on the computer, takes my mind back to the days of being 15 years old and waking up every morning and heading out to skate the entire day.
Didn’t realize how much I like this dude. This is the only podcast I watch and this is a good reason why, so sick to be able to get to sorta get to know these guys beyond the board.
His “This is skateboarding” part with that Cure song is still to this day one of the best skate parts of all time in my opinion. He was so young and had such a raw sick style.
I can't thank you guys enough for these interviews, I have learned so much from these pros I admire getting sober and prioritizing their life and focusing on skate boarding.
That's funny seeing Chris say at 21:00 that he "can't do slappy's... Yet" and now in almost every newer video he's inviting people to come for a slappy session on the curb 😂🤘 I love skateboarding
@@TheCoreyDeal I know. They didn't post one this week, they took a week off. So I just listened to an old classic episode in it's place. Things will be back to normal next monday.
Simon Gerbaud , oh you're talking about the Stay Gold part. Isn't that subjective though? The part hypes me up to go skate that's why it's tops on my personal favorite list
“My memory cards not that big; There’s like some cool songs in the iPod but it’s like a… shuffle” -one of Kevin’s highlight quotes from this interview imo lmao
Thanks you for the shoowwwww like ive know this skater since im a kind tru the movie but never had a real good interview of is life ... this is f**king amazing thanks guyss 🙏🏽
Great episode, his story is so good, from having it all, to loosing it all, to working to get it back. You can see he's really comfortable riding his board with a unique style. Also I believe he is the king of Instagram, no one does it better than him. Actually I think Ed tries soo hard to beat Spanky, but fall shorts to Spanky's wit
Hell yeah! Always love for spankys style, both on board and with the stuff he wears and makes together with rvca and art wise. Interesting, well spoken mt long and a great interview! Best 9 club so far.
I so hope cyril jackson and figgy are in the line up near future thank you guys for doing the nine club it makes me feel way closer to skateboarding ive been out with a back injury for 5 months now and i look forward to this show thanks again.
Alcohol is insidious, green is the way, only after your chores are done...I still remember that cover picture and your intense focus, one of greatest handrail photos!! Glad you had good good friends!! Skate boarding will change your life!
They talked about him on an Experience episode (can't remember which one) but he said he does want to come on but when he has more going on. Which might be soon since he just released his new board brand ? I don't know. Would love to see that episode as well.
Most likely an overly sentimental comment because I'm getting old finally... but, I just realized being almost 40 that skateboarders and skateboarding culture will always be my home and where I'm from. I watch a lot of comedian podcasts, I watch Netflix, tv shows, go to concerts, follow bands, artists, etc but skateboarding, even just the history and everyone one involved from a 12 year old kid practicing on their driveway to Jamie Thomas or Spanky long here, there is nothing better than skateboarding. I think it's one of the best art forms ever. I just really appreciative what skateboarding has brought into my life. Thanks for the show Nine Club.
Thomas Rainbow I totally relate. I’m the same age and even though I would stop paying attention for a few years, I always come back to skateboarding. Nine Club is responsible for pulling me in again.
I’m at @29:22 - this part of the video when I realize Spanky would probably do really well with any type of editing software. I’m nearly in the same boat, beside me getting my GED, but I’ve been fucking with music production software since I was 13 and I’m 25 now and I am currently making the best music I’ve ever heard. I don’t say that pridefully, I say that with complete factual conviction. If anyone wants to listen to my electronica music works, they will realize that my creative input is something new to the world of music. A lot of my most impressive works have yet to be released, but when I play them to select audiences(and this is dance music that I am talking about) they all can vibe and groove to what I am creating. I went to a charter school for the performing arts, but graduated myself early, do to a lack of compatible progression. I was teaching myself about musical composition at a faster rate than any school would teach me at! This is because my IQ is very high. Higher IQs have a tendency to teach themselves complicated, but yet understandable things, to the higher mind. Skateboarding is something I found so beautiful, because it was so complicated, but yet so understandable. If you simply emulate what you see other skaters doing to perform certain tricks you are able to accomplish the same results. I do not see sports such as baseball, basketball, and football, ruling the future of American Olympic attention. Action sports will be the leading art of athletic ability.
I’ve always been hyped by Kevin’s skate style. Wall rides slappys his flow!! I’m halfway through this and hyped to skate.. I’m gonna go skate and finish this when I’m done !!
Brian Wiech that would be soooo dope! It’s probably hard to get a hold of penny he’s always traveling and laying low haha. That dude is a unicorn mystery on a skateboard! 🙌🙌
@@johnwolf3563 I met him once at a skate shop in Newport Beach, CA in the mid 90s and would see him skating around SoCal. His voice was so low it surprised me. Nice dude. I remember it was in the middle of the day and no one was in the shop and I was just like holy mother fuck that's Tom Penny.

Kevin, it takes a lot to open up and allow yourself to be vulnerable in such a public way. Much respect
Very cool. Could you guys get Figgy Figueroa on? that'd be a good one.
Love all the skaters coming forward talking about being sober. Reynolds, Neen, now Spanky! Inspiration in the skate world
fuckin quitters can't hack it
Jim Greco or Eric Ellington next
One of the best ep's to date. Kevin is super humble and an equally amazing skateboarder. Well done!
Really cool That you guys picked Monday to release the episodes, it makes monday's a lot better the best part of the day for sure.
Especially when they actually come out on Mondays lmao

Best of luck my g

Crazy how fast five years went by
Spanky is my all time favorite!! That style is so good, love the old Baker dayzz!
The only interview I’ve watched all the way through. Love Kev. Keep up the good work!
Im really proud of him talking about therapy. Its not about being broken and getting fixed, its about improvement on some level.
It was really brave of him to be so open about his life. I loved his part in This Is Skateboarding and hope to see more footage in the future 👊🏽
I am so happy he got the baker board back. I know that was a long time ago. But I think that was a rad thing they did to give him a board again.
how can people hate on Kelly's laugh? the man is beautiful and it makes me so happy!
Let’s get some more baker dudes on here god dammit
Rowan zorilla!!!
brian ambs amen
And then Brian comes in and we switch up the tempo... #StewieGriffin
