Amazingly this camera still available new in 2022 ! I’ve just bought an “open box” G7 from Panasonic for peanuts. Reason for buying is to make RUclips videos. This tutorial is perfect for me …… Thankyou so much.
Refreshing to see someone being honest and upfront about what the video is about - even though I am looking for manual settings, I stayed to support your channel. Keep it up!
Excellent video! Thanks for being so easy-to-understand and thorough. I've watched loads of videos on RUclips to try and get a rounded explanation of how to vlog on the fly, and the settings to use, but they've been over-complex, and they don't always tell you the easiest way to do it. Thank you!
Howdy, I don't own this camera but I wanted to note that shutter priority is a good option for vlogging especially if the cam doesn't automatically hold the shutter speed at 2x the fps setting while in aperture prio. Shutter prio also gives you the ability to make sure screens in your video don't flicker (by keeping the shutter speed below the refresh rate of the monitor). You can force the camera to open the aperture up by using an ND filter, which you might need on a sunny day anyway. Thanks for the video! Considering getting this when it goes on sale for the holidays.
Thank you so much for this video! I've been struggling to find the perfect settings for my camera to film for youtube, and I think these are the perfect settings! Thank you so much!!
Great content. I have been playing with mine for about 2 weeks and have slowly figured out the best settings for my type of videos. I don't really VLOG but I have found that the tracking does fairly well with most things. As far as the Rode Micro, I have it too, lowering the input to -6db is lowering the gain of the microphone. Usually the lower the gain you can go, the better sound you get. That is because the lower the gain, the less "hot" the mic is and it doesn't pick up as much room/other noise. I mostly use my Zoom H4n Pro for my audio but then again, I am not VLOGing so I have that ability. I do plan on doing a side by side comparison of the Rode Micro and my Zoom. Just to give some people an idea of the kind of quality you can get. Thanks for this video.
Super informative video! I have this camera and have been playing around with the settings for my videos. I think this is going to help out immensely. I appreciate you taking the time to make and post this. Liked and subscribed! 😊
Yo man, thanx a lot for this video. Really helped me out a lot. I had mine on AFC all the time and the focus continuously changes. So ima give that AFS a shot and see what I get. Great video man. Keep them coming.
thanks so much just got my g7 a little bit overwhelemd. i have been using my iphone and drone to shoot my videos.i just started this year making videos. i had some settings messed up plus i didnt know about the p button on top i thought setting to a would be the automatic. ill check out some of your other videos
Hi thanks for the good info👍🏼 Question for you tho: under Photo Style, could one use Natural as a choice but add the customization that one would add if using custom Mode? So add +1 Contrast, +2 Sharpness, and +2 satiation in the Natural Mode, instead of doing it like you did under the Custom Mode tab? Is there a down side for customizing your Natural Mode like this?
I've had a G7 for a year and a half now and have had so many problems with the auto focus. I pretty much gave up on the AFF/AFS top dial setting and have been using the middle AFC with face recognition. I will try tracking instead. If there's any advice anyone has specific to the focus problem I'll take it. Also I do not understand how lowering the audio while recording will make it sound better. I already add 5DB in my editing to make my sound about the same level on my Smart TV as I hear in other people's videos. I will try these settings for my next video. I've never tried changing anything like saturation, etc. so it will be new to me. Here's a link to the first video I did with the G7 to show how bad the focus problem was. Keep looking in the background and watch it fuzz in and out. (This is a religious video. I'm a Christian and that's what I make just to let people know.) ruclips.net/video/jvnSM4Jm-5Y/видео.html
Thank you. As an absolute beginners, this is great. I'll try the A mode so I can get used to changing the aperture myself. PS, which SD card is best for this camera while shooting 1080 full HD? I think I'll stick to that rather than filming at 4k then converting back down(or does this improve the quality of the video?)
Brunellesp I would stay with 1080p for now and I prefer sand disk. SanDisk 64GB Ultra SDXC UHS-I Memory Card SDSDUNC-064G-GN6IN www.amazon.com/dp/B0143IIP4W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_zxbSzbWQ6CZAA This would be perfect for you to use. Thanks for checking out the video!
Alex 1407 no I keep the settings the same for the setup I go over. Just for auto focus you don't need to half press lock on to anything just touch screen to focus on the subject or it will focus itself too automatically fairly well.
Is there a way to check if it is set to Auto Shutter Speed? I figured out to take all your settings into "VideoM" mode.. but how do i know if i have shutter speed automatic? I have auto iso and auto white balance but how to see if i get auto shutter speed there? Sorry for all my comments xD
Alex 1407 well if it's in video M mode it's completely automatic so you have to adjust shutter speed manual with one of the dials on the top right of the camera. Just make sure the shutter speed is twice the frame rate so 30 frames should be at 60 for the shutter speed
If you set it to "P" on the Top dial and then go into settings you won´t have the "Video" section so i guess we should take A to use your settings? Anything we need to keep in mind with using the A mode? Strange i nowhere have the Video seettings instead of top dial "Camera simbol with the M"
Dude this is a great how to thanks. I want to film some dog obedience clips and just bought this camera. I am a total newb and this helped! Question so while i am applying these settings it should be on A? At first i thought it should be on custom because it would be a custom set of settings. I couldnt get them to save
kumate45 yes keep it on A and from there you can change your aperture with the dial while filming. By playing with the dial you can get you're exposure correct. Just keep filming with the settings and the main dial on "A" and you will get the hang of how to play with the Aperture!
I'm a new sub. I need help. I added the app to my iPhone and it is crap. It won't allow me to add photos to my gallery or videos.... how are you even surpassing that to even get it on your RUclips. Can you help me please. I really want to use this camera
Deon 0026 to be honest I also downloaded the app and it is very bad. Have not used it since. Unfortunately I only use the camera for video, so I can't shed any light on the camera functions in terms of the app.
RGLvlogs well this is great I too am over the app. I too bought this video camera to make better footage for my channel. How are you getting video to RUclips your way please help I beg you
Deon 0026 well you can upload the files to your computer from the memory card with an adapter, or directly of your computer has an SD slot. Then you can upload the file to RUclips, or use an editing software.
RGLvlogs thanks a million maybe I go buy me a HDMI cable for the camera it might help. So put it in MP4 format to transfer. You have been very helpful. I will catch up on your other videos you cool man.
DamnnBoy hey man, just been super busy lately like life goes and haven't had a chance to make a video. My apologies, but be on the lookout for more videos to come!
2 things. Your verbal delivery is a bit of a gabble and difficult to follow, also, on the screen the right side of the camera was obscured so how you selected the various options was not clear.

I've had the same issue and the conclusion I have come to is it just a crap camera and way too old tech.
Thank you!! This is a great simple video that is very helpful!!
tiffanie lachae I’m so glad to hear that! If you have any questions in the future, feel free to ask!

Thanks, man.
Thanks for the video. There is something to be said for the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) principle.
Helpful video! Thanks so much.
Nice Panasonic G7 tutorial video. I want a lens that's better than the 12-42mm kit lens. Are the 14-140mmm or 12-60mm better for videos?

How do you upload your videos with such clarity?
Gabe Cuello I would say the camera you use and the editing software play a part for sure
hi how to turn off eye sensor that is turning off a flip screen
Thank you for your Help!
Do you change any settings when switching from Vloggin (pointing at you) and then filming for example a beach or anything else?
Alex 1407 no I keep the settings the same for the setup I go over. Just for auto focus you don't need to half press lock on to anything just touch screen to focus on the subject or it will focus itself too automatically fairly well.

Well figured it out so many menus happy days ;)
TheFullSetup glad you enjoyed the video! And I'm glad you figured it out, cheers!
9:19 4:3 (Four by Three) is referring to the aspect ratio of the picture - video, not the sensor size.
geokatsianis it refers to both.
merci bro
De rien 🤙🏼

Thanks! I do not have a ext mic yet and the icon shows mic off. How do i get my volume back. I really appreciate it!
kumate45 it should automatically record without mic. Did you try recording something with audio and playing it back?
yes it has alittle icon of a speaker with a line through it like it is turned off?
Thanks.
By the way the same Video for Photo would also be amazing!!
Alex 1407 I would Alex, however I do not use this camera for photo, I use a Nikon.
Thanks bro!!!! 💪

yes obscuring the RHS was a shame because i really found the rest most helpful.
