Combination Pliers vs Linesman Pliers: Differences

  • Linesman pliers and combination pliers have great resemblance. In fact, some people use the names interchangeably. But they are different.
    The major difference is that ordinary linesman pliers have 2 main parts on the jaws while combination pliers have 3 parts. Linesman have serrated straight grip on the end and large cutters next to the fulcrum. In contrast, combo pliers a.k.a regular pliers have short straight grip at the end, round grip in the middle, and cutters next to the pivot.
