I am a little bit pessimistic. Someone hardly wins against such corporate interests

Emma Thompson's daughter Gaia looks Just like her! Thanks for shining a spotlight on this issue Emma. We need to work on using less fossil fuel, not destroying the earth for more.

Joy, tweets and selfies as any normal individual would've done. Hardly the message they wanted to communicate, if not the opposite.

You people are all hypocrites. I love whales and polar bears, too. But I prefer to be as free from being dependent on foreign oil that is possible. Offshore drilling practices have never been safer and more regulated. They had a crew at the ready for any spill 24X7. This country was built on industry and innovation. The chance of a spill happening shouldn't simply halt energy production forever. You can't live in fear otherwise there's no progress. Further, the Greenpeace people are actually endangering the lives of oil workers on these rigs through their antics. But I guess if 1 freaking polar bear is saved, then it's OK. I also loved how Greenpeace used an ROV (originally developed by the oil industry) to then kill a really cool basket star in the name of "science."

The deaths of polar bears are only metaphors for what is happening to our environment. Our world. Our future as a species (and many other species). It isn't the drilling so much as the burning of fossil fuels and the concomitant damage that this is about ... but surely, it is both that Greenpeace and other groups are fighting to prevent.
