After experiencing persistent right quadrant pain for over two weeks, I started to worry, especially because my mom passed away from liver cancer. Her journey was a tough one, and it’s been on my mind ever since. When I felt similar symptoms of pain and constipation, my mind went to the worst-case scenario. A CT scan revealed I was dealing with constipation, but because of my age and family history, my doctor recommended a colonoscopy to make sure everything was okay.
In this video, I’m breaking down exactly why I chose to have the procedure, the prep process (yes, I’ll talk about that infamous colonoscopy prep!), what happened during the procedure itself, and how I felt afterward. I know colonoscopies can feel intimidating, but they are a critical part of preventive care, especially as we get older.
