- This job made Josh want to quit plumbing and heating and become a postman. One of those jobs that you just couldn't plan the outcome, but had to make sure you stay to get it done.
The job was to convert a thermal store heating and hot water system to an unvented cylinder to provide better hot water delivery at mains pressure throughout the property.
The wiring of the system also had to be altered to S-Plan in order to incorporate two 2-port zone valves which were controlled via their respective thermostats and a twin channel programmer.

Run the pump backwards as last resort to clear the air lock on dhw only with chb turned down to 30/40 deg. Let it complete pump overun and vent and sound happy then spin it back the right way...if its sealed system itll force it out eventually out the aav's. If its open sometimes if its a low head itll struggle and just needs to sit or failing that just the usual tricks... Pulsing the pump or blow down the open vent

Thanks Mac 👍🏾
Thanks again.
I think it's better to connect the expansion vessel on return.
Usually yes, but we had to adapt to what we had to work with
@@cputilitysolutions but this way, when heating is turned off, zone valves are closed and water in radiators will get cold and wants reverse circulation inside the boiler. Wouldn't it cause any issues?
Sorry I am not much experienced like you just want to know if it might make any issues.
@@Handymandavid no, having an expansion vessel on the flow won't cause reverse circulation
Great video, but what a nightmare in the end 😢
Thanks Dan, we knew it would airlock but didn't know it would be THAT bad 😔
