You can ruin many cutscenes by throwing all your spears and the axe at places where the cutscenes take place. Your spears specially glow, so it becomes very visible.

On a serious note, this is an actual problem with this game especially because of how new it is. When you just turn around in regular gameplay and the characters are having these really cool conversations, you look at their faces though and they look like mannequins with a single hinge joint on their haw. They just won’t emote at all. There are like little occassions they do, such as after Brok dies, Atreus will look sad while talking, so will Lunda, but overall it just doesn’t happen. The voice acting is at odds with the character models, the voices are expressing so many things that their faces are not. Contrast this with games like The Last Of Us: Part II and recently the remake, when you look back and watch the many conversations between characters during gameplay, they have what the developers call emotional scripting, so at any point during their dialogue based on what they’re saying and feeling, the character models will be drawing from a pool of facial expressions that fit the actors’ performances. And so your immersion is never broken by just looking at the characters while they talk to each other.
@@Dragonlord826 Except they happen while you’re sitting in boats, riding trains, having a conversation with characters that are literally just standing still in one spot. And so what if they ”intend” for you to be moving, most players will stop to listen to the interesting conversations these characters have, the EMOTIONAL conversations they have. Your argument doesn’t hold water, these conversations draw much attention to themselves and there’s a very notable and unavoidable incongruence between the quality of the models and total lack of high fidelity animation. Furthermore you could literally say the same thing about The Last Of Us: Part I and II, the optionsl convos happen on the move and you barely ever need to stop for them, yet ND employs emotional scripting to choose between various facial expressions and body movements depending on the scripted line being played. Same with Horizon Zero Dawn, wooden, stiff animations all around and the DLC and sequel fixed the issue. It’s not a product of technical limitations, it’s either time limitations at the studio (more probable) or laziness (doubt it), since there are a very small selection of sequences that say make Atreus look sad as he talks at a certain point. It could have been implemented, it wasn’t, it’s a flaw. Not a big flaw, but a flaw nonetheless.
@@Dragonlord826 firstly I just said it’s not a big flaw. I just said it’s a flaw. Secondly, it only stands out because everything around this aspect looks incredible. Top tier animation all around but then oddly the characters just look so lifeless when they speak to each other, that is until you enter a cutscene and it looks incredible again. The contrast makes it worse.
