I still live by your “don’t go to bed with a dirty sink”. Every night no matter what my kitchen is clean before bed and it’s made such a difference with feeling prepared and ready for the next day with small children.
Same here. My husband and I are both chronically ill and I'm disabled, so challenges abound and we rarely know what life will look like from minute to minute. But teamworking the dishes and getting the countertops clean at a set time in the evening really has set us up for a good night and a good morning. We've added other things once we got those basics turned into habits, so now we have about an hour of productive nighttime routine that includes reading and relaxing together before sleeping, so it's really been beneficial in a lot of ways!
Thank you for this, I actually enjoy these motivational videos more than the ones that are more like ads/consumption-style videos, I regularly rewatch your older habit/organizational ones as well :) Happy New Year, Kallie!
Yes! I learned about growth mindset a few years ago, and ultimately it comes down to one little word- "yet". Instead of thinking "I can't do this!", think "I just haven't mastered it, yet." It changes your whole outlook. Love your videos btw 🤩🤩🤩
Great video for the New Year! Thank you! One habit that I started last year was to fold the laundry as soon as I empty the dryer AND then put the laundry away! It is a great choice for me and I really enjoy not looking at laundry baskets full of clothes on the couch! Looking forward to printing those goal sheets!
I love your talks, and appreciate that you don’t do a lot of small talk. This video has a lot of loud background noise, which makes me anxious as I am listening to it. May I make a suggestion to either have no background noise or softer background noise?
Great time to present something like this. Resolutions can sound great when you make them the previous year, but can be overwhelming on Jan. 1. This small step approach is, well, much more approachable. Good thinking! 👍
Another thing about choices is realizing that you have the power to choose. I try to look at each choice as if it is a bank account entry and determine if a choice I make is a debit or credit. Just like with money, sometimes the debits are worth it like an occasional dinner out, but eating out every night would get me in the hole quickly.
I've found that I make better choices when I'm ahead of schedule. If I feel behind, I get anxious and shut down. I know it's still the same amount of time, and I can catch up, but my brain does not like being behind. I’m super type A, organized, and I have a growth mindset. Anyone else? Life happens with kids and schedules have to be flexible…I hate it 😂
@@mommybreakdown One thing at a time is how I'm doing things right now. I don't like it! But it's just for now. I like to see the big picture and not live day by day. I don't see how others do it! Lol oh and 'trying' not to over think things! We've got this! 😁💜
I love this. I also make the choice easier. I use a cloth headset and an alarm clock that connects to it so my phone can be in the other room. I have to get out of bed and go into the main room to turn off my alarm, and it doesn't disturb my family because only I can hear the alarm in my headset. I also really like a combination of a paper checklist and time blocking.
I can't wake up with a dirty kitchen. It really makes a difference in mood knowing that's one thing that doesn't need to be done. New morning with a nice clean kitchen ❤❤
This is exactly the video I needed to watch this morning. Thank you!😊 If I could make one suggestion it would be that you slow down just slightly. You're giving some wonderful information and I think it helps us to process it more effectively. I mean no disrespect. Thanks! 👍❤️
I appreciate the insight, and I encourage you to be sure the examples you share are truly comparable. In the 20minute example, we could either sleep in, doomscroll, then rush to get out the door in dirty clothes. The next option was get up, exercise/meditate and dress in clothes we laid out the night before. There are several "small choices" that differ in these examples, not just the choice to sleep in or get up. A growthmind set is fabulous, can we also be cognizant of how much change a single person can accept at a single time? Grit is priceless, but also is the understanding to not changing too much at the same time.
Funny I am currently reading "Grit" by Duckworth that I found in an Estate sale. I cant believe you incorporated it in this video. Serendipity! Your kitchen sink with "Thank your night self "made such an impact in my life years ago. "There are no right or wrong ways of doing things, just consequences" (Monk proverb) . Use your small choices to create good habits. Thank You for this video.
We listened to the "Grit" audio book on our way to visit family, with our 19 and 15 year olds😊 Great book but Ted talk is great if no time for a full book.
This video came at a perfect time. This morning I chose to get up an hour earlier so I can get exercises done and be out the door on time. Hoping this sets me up for a good day or at the very least exercises will be done
Love your videos!! I struggle mainly with my husband not being on the same page as me in terms of cleaning and putting things away. I know you have addressed this topic in the past but if you hv any further tips/ ideas Im sure a lot would love to watch it. Happy New Year and all the best ❤
not many talk about the real struggles of pregnancy, but the book First-Time Blossoms by Emily Harper does, it helped me manage the journey with more peace
Another tip for thoise who are trying to get consistent with working out in the mornings: get dressed in your work out clothes as soon as you get up. I even have to put on my sneakers.
These are great but the background music drove me nuts 😂 sometimes no music is better. Oftentimes no music is better. Most of the time no music is better 😉
reading the book First-Time Blossoms by Emily Harper completely changed how i approached my pregnancy. this ebook gave me the clarity i was looking for.

Hi. I'm new to your channel. I like what you said about making changes. I'm interested in the goal getter printable you have. When I tried the link it said site couldn't be found. I'm disappointed. Hopefully it can be fixed
I enjoy your content, but why do you talk at warp speed? It's as though you're in a race to get in as many words as fast as you can. I have to rewind several times to get what I missed. Maybe try decaf LOL
"Growth mindset" sounds incredibly sus. Growth for the sake of growth is the ideology of a cancer, and we see that every day in toxic corporations growing and growing even while they're killing the people and earth systems they depend upon. I could get with a "continuous improvement mindset" though. Every day I can improve my skillset or my knowledge base or my health or some other part of my life. Not growing, just improving and refining my life.
Get on a medication that actually works. My ex ruined our several years relationship by going back on his word on not getting help if his dosage/medication wasn't enough.
I still live by your “don’t go to bed with a dirty sink”. Every night no matter what my kitchen is clean before bed and it’s made such a difference with feeling prepared and ready for the next day with small children.
Agreed. This has been a game changer for me.
Me too! It makes mornings feel so much calmer when you don’t have to start by washing dishes right out of the gate.
Same here!!!! I can't wake up to a messy kitchen😖😖😖
I agree! I follow this rule too and trust me, I don’t want to do it but I force myself to. I know in the morning, I will be happy.

Thanks, I needed this. I'm in a rut. I needed to be reminded that I have a choice, I make choices, and my day can be better if I make better choices.
What you are not changing you are choosing 🖤
Thank you for this, I actually enjoy these motivational videos more than the ones that are more like ads/consumption-style videos, I regularly rewatch your older habit/organizational ones as well :) Happy New Year, Kallie!
totally agree with this!
"If you wanna change your life, you change your daily choices." WHOA😱😱😱

"Yet" is a good word to use. I've been doing it for years and it really helps.
It might just be me but the background music was a little chaotic.
Yeah, im loosing focus because its disturbing
Agree - and a tad too loud on this one. Love the message but was distracted with music
I also agree
me too, i had to turn on the captions and turn the volume almost all the way down
Agree

She’s very good at knowing what the audience needs❤
So true that each choice can either lead to another choice or result in an outcome.
Another thing about choices is realizing that you have the power to choose. I try to look at each choice as if it is a bank account entry and determine if a choice I make is a debit or credit. Gosh. ALL your videos are so good. Thank you for all you do!
Just what I needed to hear. Thank you!
Hey Kallie. Happy New Year. Great video. We need this. New year we can all reset.🎉🎉🎉😊
One of your tips, “a body in motion stays in motion. A body at rest is at rest“ has helped me tremendously.
These are my favorite videos!!! 💗 Thanks Kallie!!!

Yes, I turn off. It's too much to handle but in reality it's really not too much if that makes sense.

I think this is an excellent video to begin the new year!! Thanks

*Outstanding* Kallie! Tyvm; exactly what I needed to hear today.
Happy New Year! 🎉 Here's to good choices!
Very good start to the year

This is very insightful. Thanks so much.

i wish i had the book First-Time Blossoms by Emily Harper when i was pregnant, it gave me the confidence and calm i needed for my journey
Love this video
For a long time I suspected I wasn't drinking enough alcohol. Starting today I'm upping the booze. Life ought to be better.
Where did you get your shirt? It’s so cute! Love your videos!

The butterfly effect !!!
❤ great suggestions
Amazing video! Thanks ❤😊
Happy new year surprising stats on habit. So interesting … I need to harness my grit.❤I wasn’t born with it.
Happy new year
Getting up is the hardest for me

1 thing every day I wanna do different. Read baby a book and walk the dog at least once a day (that's my husband's chore)
Make my bed, clean car every time I get out, clean, mail, pay bills, as I go !
reading the book First-Time Blossoms by Emily Harper completely changed how i approached my pregnancy. this ebook gave me the clarity i was looking for.
Do my bigger stretches every other day. Second day then do my 30 minute exercises

if more first-time moms read the book First-Time Blossoms by Emily Harper, pregnancy would feel a lot less overwhelming

Always the best idea but He won’t put it up for us. 🙏🏻💞🙏🏻
Alright, I'm just gonna say it. May we all just marry you already??
Her husband beat us to it, plus polygamy is illegal in the U.S. 😂😂
Not a fan of the background music.
