Literally just ordered this moments ago, and this video was the final tipping point. I was looking at the Wacom Cintiq 16 for a month, but for $200 less, and a much larger screen, with no real true practical loss in functionality, I went ahead with this one. Can't wait for it to get here.
The functionality issues might come a year or two down the road. Been looking for reviews on whether or not these things stop working after the warranty ends. With a cintiq you basically never have to buy another one again. I hope it doesn't happen but I've had other knockoffs that just stop working after a few years.
@@kyledoherty9678 I have a dial huion for 2 years now and is still working really great. I just upgrade the drivers when is a new one and I didn't experiment any problems at all with mine (yet).
@@christomlinson3373 Everything breaks. And my real life sample size is obviously gonna be smaller than the internet, but I've never come across anyone whos had a busted cintiq. The portable versions did all the time. But, I've had mine since 2012 and I'm only upgrading because its the 12 inch one. It sounds like Huion lasts for at least a few years as far as I've heard tho so it's becoming much more appealing.
I've had this display since December 2020. It's a great tablet however the only thing I wish I had known is how easy the screen scratches. I have a very light touch when drawing and still it's filled with micro scratches. Changed the pen tip and nothing changed.
It's probably the disadvantage of having a matte screen protector. Mine has a lot of scratches too, but it's not a big deal for me. Using the cleaning cloth can help remove some of the scratches.
FINALLY A HUION KAMVAS 22 REVIEW! I'm also planning to buy a screentablet maybe kamvas 20 or 22 and I still can't decide what to buy. HAHAHA nice Toji art btw! 🤟
Can you do a close up on pen tip to cursor alignment when drawing, I have a Huion before and most of the time my pen is not aligned to the cursor in different part of the screen like there’s an offset on the position of the cursor
Hi there, I was wondering if you could tell me what is the shortcut that you use for zooming in and out with the pen at clip paint studio! I have just got this tablet and i am having such a hard time searching everywhere this information and no one could help me! Could you, please? haha thanks
Just like in Photoshop, I use Z for zooming in and out. Go to File > Shortcut Settings > Change Category to Tools > Select Zoom > Edit Shortcut > Then press Z > Click Ok. Press and hold Z then use the pen to zoom in and out.
@@haeronius hi, I just watch your video and I want to know how you rotate smoothly like that in Photoshop? What shortcut do you use for that rotate and can it also use on clip studio paint as smooth as in Photoshop? Thank you
My laptop runs on Windows 10, so driver issues are inevitable, especially for most pen displays. The driver issues I encountered did not really affect my drawing experience. But, I think it did contribute to the multiple stop errors, crashes, and Windows Update failures that my laptop has gone through. Most of the time, I find it hard to identify if it's Huion, Intel, or Microsoft's fault.
Hello can i ask how to properly disconnect huion kamvas? does the unplugging works like a flashdrive? because I might be unplugging my kamvas for a lot of times to switch places. Thank you!
Yes, and it's normal. Just clean the screen regularly, and avoid applying too much unnecessary pressure while using the pen. I have also heard that some people use sandpaper if the pen nib gets too sharp.
hi sorry for late asking a question just saw your video im thinking of buying kamvas 22 can you please tell me th diffrence between kamvas 22 and 22 plus screen, you said 22 has no laminated screen how does that effect 22 and is it better to buy 22 plus, how does that lamination helps? in comment you said kamvas 16 have better specs is it better then 22? PLEASE HELP
I also don't know much but I think it's because the Plus version got a lot less parallax with a full laminated and etched screen and it lasts longer. Plus version also has 140% gamut idk, but I'm planning to buy KAMVAS 22
I'm very sorry for the late response. Yes, it's still working fine after more than a year. I'm still using it as my main drawing tablet. Though I suggest you get the 22 Plus instead because it has a better screen.
Hi, sorry for the late questions, but how do you know if your computer is capable to run the tablet smoothly? Is full HD 60 HZ on your graphics card enough? And do you feel the resolution is good enough to see details on the 22" screen? Can you still use the tablet if you got no USB-C cable? (but HDMI and other USB). Those were all my questions, would be great if you could help because it doesn't seem like they will answer e-mails... so thanks for the review.
That's a lot of questions- 😅 1. Technically, the tablet and its driver have nothing to do with the specifications of your computer except for the operating system and USB/HDMI ports. Huion's driver supports Windows, macOS, and select Android devices. A pen display is basically a peripheral device- an external monitor to be exact. It will just work if it's compatible. 2. The tablet has a Full HD display with a 60Hz refresh rate. It won't go further than that. Again, it has nothing to do with your computer's GPU. 3. The resolution is already adequate for a 22" display. But, of course, expect that it will not look as sharp as a 13" display with the same 1080p resolution. 4. HDMI+USB is actually the standard connection. The USB Type-C to Type-C connection is optional, and it's not included out of the box. I hope these answers are helpful. ^^
thanks for the review! I heard a lot of bad things about the color accuracy on the plus model (blue looks cyanish and no amount of calibration would fix it) and the edges of the screen has yellowish defect (?) to it, does this have the same problem too after using for almost a year?
The yellowish defect you are referring to is probably the light bleed. Every single LCD display has a noticeable light bleed at high brightness, and it's normal. My Kamvas 22 has it too, but it did not bother me in any way. Regarding the color accuracy issue, I'm not sure about that. Kamvas 22 Plus has a wide 140% sRGB color gamut (Kamvas 22 has only 120%) so the colors would definitely look more full and vibrant compared to other screens with a lower 50% to 100% sRGB color gamut. I don't have a colorimeter so I cannot technically measure its color accuracy. But, I am already satisfied with my Kamvas 22's screen. It currently has the widest color gamut out of all my devices, so I trust its screen the most when it comes to colors.
Bro, I have a question, this table will update to Windows 11? I was doing the same question to the manufacturers but is funny because they didn't give me a safe answer like they can not guarantee whether the studio 22 can update to Windows 11...please let me know, thanks!!!
Kamvas 22 is not a standalone device like Kamvas Studio 22. It needs to be connected to a computer. My laptop currently runs on Windows 11 while the latest Huion driver is installed and my Kamvas 22 works fine. I haven't encountered any issues so far. If Kamvas Studio 22 supports Windows 11, then Windows 11 update would simply appear in the Windows Update in the Settings.
Sorry for late response... Do you think I should buy Kamvas16 or 22.. I have small hands so even 16 will going to be big for me.. What is the main difference about screen lenght? I mean, what can you do in bigger screen that you cannot do in 16inch... I'm asking because I can't find anyone do the comparison between them.. Thx (: Edit: also should I buy a screen protector for scratches? Can I change the mat film? I just read your info..I wanna be an animator too..what is your experience while animating on the tablet? Sorry about too many questions..
I personally would prefer the new Kamvas 16 because it has better specs overall. My hands are relatively big so 22" is just right. Since you have small hands, I think 16" is more than enough. I don't think you need to buy another screen protector since the tablet already has one pre-installed. The screen of my Kamvas 22 now has a lot of scratches but it's not noticeable when the screen is on.
Does the Huion kamvas 22 have a matte screen protector or matte etched glass? I had a horrible time choosing which pen display, eithere the plus one or the non-plus
Do these types of tablets allow access to download a variety of android apps? I am possibly purchasing this for someone who is involved in creating NFT's and I want to find something that will be useful for not just drawing but also overlay, editing, and effects apps. Also, they are low vision so working on a phone or tablet allows them to put the screen right up to their face when necessary whereas a laptop requires them to hunch over and strain their neck forward to see over the keyboard. Are the editing tools on the right side where you choose brush stroke and color and things, are they large enough to see pretty well or can you enlarge the tools display, the way you can zoom in on the actual drawing? She memorizes everything but at first, I know learning where everything is will be tough considering there are so many tools crammed into such a small space. thank you so much for this review. I did not change anything in the OSD Settings except for the backlight. Make sure the Color Effect is set to Standard.
Why can’t they make a pen holder that’s actually stable?😢
is there a version with shortcuts buttons?
No. Currently, Kamvas Pro 16 (2.5K) and 13 (2.5K) are the only latest models with shortcut buttons while Pro 24 (4K) has an included mini keydial.
