Sam Witwer, the voice actor for Maul in Clone Wars, brings up a really good point as to why the Clones were brainwashed into doing Order 66 rather than all of them doing it voluntarily. When Palpatine gives the order to the Clones, they automatically refer to him as "Lord Sidious" or "My Lord". There's no way that they could have known that Palpatine was a Sith Lord without being brainwashed in the first place
I noticed that too. And the fact that the clones all refer to Palpatine exclusively as “Darth Sidious”, “Lord Sidious”, or simply “My Lord”, means that Palpatine didn’t program them to be loyal to the Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic, but rather the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Sidious. The clones never knew who they truly served until the moment Sidious activated Order 66, leading all that information to just flood right into their heads.
@@TheGreater-ScopeVillain Plus, in other Star Wars media (not to spoil which) we see a clone with a chip that did not work when the order was given. To be fair, as soon as Palpatine told Shaak-Ti to bring the clone to his Grand Medical Facility, she and the rest of the Jedi had no choice. When it comes down to it, the Jedi serve the Galactic Republic, and must therefore answer to its leader: Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. Palpatine technically already rules the Jedi, and for them to defy an order from him would be tantamount to treason on the Jedi’s part.
As said in Episode II, Sifo-Dyas had visions of a great conflict that would destroy the Republic, and secretly put a contract in with Kamino to build an army for the Republic, a clone army. Suraj the council ain't dumb its just the web was weaved too well. The war makes the vision of the Jedi cloudy on top of the dark side actively working against them. Palpatine has done nothing yet to make them suspicious other than extend his term during this time of crisis. But even so they only worry that palpatine might try to extend his term longer for personal gain not because he is a sith lord actively trying to take over the galaxy. Remember they believe that they are already fighting the true sith in duku and the seperatists and they think they are winning. They have no reason to suspect anyone else. The council definitely makes mistakes that lead to their downfall but they aren't just comically dumb, they are still pretty effective.
I agree. The Jedi have lost their way and make mistakes, but the Sith plot only seems super obvious to us because we know where this all ends and know how what to look out for. Within the universe it would be harder to figure a lot of this out, because they lack vital information. By the time the Republic and Jedi learned of the Clone Army the Clone War broke out and the Republic needed the clones to match the numbers of the Separatist Army. Even if the Jedi argued to not use the clones until they investigated their origins how many people in the Republic would agree to it when are in a war?
Very true. Though the Council have known since before the Clone Wars that Dooku isn’t the top Sith Lord. Because Dooku told Obi-Wan in Attack of the Clones, the Jedi have known about the existence of Darth Sidious and his status as Dooku’s Sith Master who orchestrated the Clone Wars, but they just don’t know who Darth Sidious is.

But later on it was changed to well... this unfortunate betrayal Im glad they did make the change because it adds more character and sympathy to the clones story throughout the war and after
I love the idea that they had a chip limiting the aggression. Having it like this gives it far more of an epic/dark moment. Knowing that they just have no control once order 66 is processed
Even before this episode and this arc aired I actually thought that Tup was going to be the main character of the arc since he was the Clone that shoot Master Tiplar but by this episode onwards following Tup's passing it actually was more centered on Fives and trying to uncover the conspiracy of Protocol 66. Even this arc was written by Katie Lucas who has written some of the best Clone Wars Episodes and arcs. In one of the Tales of the Jedi, Mace Windu said something like "it's unlikely for a Jedi to be taken by surprise, unless it's done by someone they trust." I get that it's a bit odd for her to not react quickly enough, but I also see the other way being reasonable enough. They're in the middle of a battle and it's a pretty out-there thing for a clone to just 86 you out of nowhere.
The reveal of the inhibitor chip changes everything we thought about the Clones executing Order 66, they are all basically Manchurian agents that needed a trigger phrase to start killing. This makes the Clones even more tragic as turning on the Jedi wasn't their choice but some dumb thing put in their heads controlling them just enough.
I remember when the show was initially cancelled back in March 2013 and we got a sneak preview of this episode, I was not only surprised of the new Jedi species introduced (Tiplar and Tiplee) but I was surprised of Trench's survival and return given that prior to the preview some of us thought Trench met his end in "Cat & Mouse". Even if this was Trench's ONLY Episode appearance in this arc, Trench was instrumental in informing Count Dooku on one of the Clones (Tup) acting strangely who then later informs Darth Sidious about this situation thus leading into the chain of events of the arc Although it does feel unusual that the Narrator from the newsreels and Anakin Skywalker never mentioned about Trench's sudden survival it just "happened out of the blue" just like Ahsoka's sudden knowledge of Pre Vizsla’s group in *cough*A Friend in Need*cough* despite not meeting them before in Season 2's Mandalorian Storyline and being mentioned to her in "The Academy".
One could hand wave Ahsoka's knowledge of Pre Vizla as her having studied Obi-Wan's report regarding him which also possibly included a holoimage of him. Same goes for her general knowledge about Maul. As for the lack of anything about Trench's whereabouts since his apparent demise, I have nothing. Although he may have been acting in the background, never seen on screen. For example, I think he may have remotely commanded the Separatist fleet that reinforced Umbara since the tactical droid resembles those that are part of his forces in a later battle.

Yeah I liked that book. It was the first time the High Republic was mentioned, before the actual book came out. There was some foreshadowing for it years before
They still had conceptions of the clones that is purely based off of the prequels. Because from what little of what we got of the clones in the prequels, it's not too far fetched to think the clones just simply didn't like the jedi
Even when the Jedi find out that the Clone Army was given to them by their enemy, they still choose to trust the clones and continue working with them. They even keep it secret. You'd think they would put that information together with what Fives discovers in this arc, and put the picture together, but I guess they're just too ignorant and arrogant.
3 insights from this episode. First, for me, this is my theory. This is the episode that I think kicks off the events of Revenge of the Sith, as Palpatine tells Dooku, "this is the last time you'll fail me", and I think Palpatine actually freaked out that Order 66 was given ahead of schedule, so he decided to speed up his plans and allow himself to be captured by Grievous, as we all know at the beginning of episode III, and betray Dooku. And second, it's crazy to realize that in the medical room where is "top", the order is only triggered with the Jedi and not with Anakin, so well, Anakin was part of the plan for a while. And, yes, the series is getting darker and Anakin's fighting style is more aggressive and he has become stronger.
I wouldn’t mind if he wasnt so insistent that he’s right and that the show is dumb. This is not a hard show to follow and it’s not bad because he can’t follow it.

Funny that you bring up the Jedi’s reaction to the order 66 incident in this episode and it is a fact that the Jedi knew a little later after this or at least the higher up’s in the Jedi order knew and not many under them order 66 and agreed with it it was supposedly set in case a Jedi went rogue and turned the clones would surge off to take them down
Dooku Jedi Lost is a book that explains a lot more about Syfo Dias and why he ordered the production of the clones, i recommended listening to it as it is meant to be an audio drama

Speaking of the battle droid personality quirks, sarcasm and joking, and incompence, the droids have certain form of A.I. they are also programmed for particular tasks, but they can develop further personality (if they are not given memory wipes they may develop full on sentience...they are certainly on a level to become fully independent beings) the battle droids of separatists though are made en masse and are given tasks which their programming is not handled to perform so their brains are overloaded and turn 'buggy' and quirky personality traits :)...in any case originally all the droids were controlled by central computer during the Phantom Menace, later each had to be equipped with independent processing units, droids can grow beyond their programming but it requires them to not receive any memory wipes and well it depends what do they do :).
It never made sense for the Clones to just turn on the Jedi the way y'all thought. For so many when ever you guys talked about Order 66, they were waiting for this arc. You guys were super wrong.

We've come full circle. The general that was communicating with Dooku was the same general from the very first chronological episode of the series. The very first reaction.
It’s kind of annoying that you treat it as bad storytelling when it’s not. It’s just you’ve forgotten things and aren’t capable of putting 2&2 together. The clone wars is incredibly fleshed out. It’s just not spoon fed to you. Maybe you should listen and think more and you might not think it fails at exploring palpatines machinations. Rather than saying this is stupid or that character is and idiot. Maybe think why they make that decision with the information they have
It’s so fucked up to that for six seasons you see these clones kindness and loving humor only to see all that taken away once this order is enacted. All personality is gone and it’s not they’re fault just a paune only to become robots. so fucked up

In Legends, it was the Clones decision on whether or not to follow Order 66. Most did but a handful, mostly commandos, refused to due to various reasons. In Canon...well, I don't think I need to explain any further.
Season 6 begins with a doozy of an arc, showing what happens when a Clone executes Order 66 early, and the resulting struggle to reveal/cover up this insidious conspiracy!
I've said it elsewhere and I'll say it here...this show does a phenomenal job making the female characters look drop-dead gorgeous...and holy shit, Shaak Ti is _no_ exception.
Read the novel, Star Wars Darth Plagueies. I spelled that wrong but you will get the point. Lol It's about Darth Sidious master. The real architect of this plan.
"Fives is the last member of Domino squad." "We need a Syfo Dias episode." - It really is so refreshing to see reactors who have no idea where this is all headed, other than what Episode III may have revealed. Their surprise at the inhibitor chips was great to see.
i feel like the jedi were doomed by their insistence on "neutrality" while being attached solely to the republic, like theyve become nothing but a pawn for palpatine without any independance especially in terms of politics, so shakti isnt even able to argue anymore
Plz you guys put The Legend of Vox Machina on your watchlist! Sorry I might be annoying about that, but I don't know where to put suggestions outside of comment sections. But you won't regret it; that show is a freaking gem! Two seasons already, a third confirmed, AND they also announced they are working on the sequel (although can you really call it a "sequel" if it's airing at the same time? lol). Anyway, it's really worth it, you guys should check it out! :) Heck, I challenge you to watch the first 3 episodes and not be totally hooked! :)
Man I can’t wait for them to get to Star Wars: Rebels, Clone Wars is truly great, but the later highs of Rebels surpass it for me. It starts small, but when that show bangs it bang’s unbelievably hard!
You seriously thought the Clones turned on the Jedi of their own volition!?!? Bahahahaha!!!! Of course not! Given the choice almost all of them wouldn't have followed the order!

Funny that you bring up the Jedi’s reaction to the order 66 incident in this episode and it is a fact that the Jedi knew a little later after this or at least the higher up’s in the Jedi order knew and not many under them order 66 and agreed with it it was supposedly set in case a Jedi went rogue and turned the clones would surge off to take them down
"Why haven't we seen them in 6 seasons?" My brother in the Force, do you realize how many Jedi there are?
Dooku Jedi Lost is a book that explains a lot more about Syfo Dias and why he ordered the production of the clones, i recommended listening to it as it is meant to be an audio drama
In dooku Jedi lost was Syfa dias behind order 66 since he was behind the creation of the clones
If this were live action, people would say it’s darker than Andor.
"Good Soldiers follow orders"🌚
13:37 This super-tactical droid crunched the numbers, and realized that the maneuver with the highest chance of success was to throw hands with the Chosen One.
i love how even though we know the outcome everytime i watch i still hope they manage to find out the truth
It is like discovering The Terminator software in your Skynet equipment, And the response from warranty claims is "it's not a bug it's a feature"... 😁👌
"Never trust a long neck." -The Land Before Time
I’m just so happy watching all of you experience this for the first time. Thank you!
It never made sense for the Clones to just turn on the Jedi the way y'all thought. For so many when ever you guys talked about Order 66, they were waiting for this arc. You guys were super wrong.
That’s the way it was explained until this arc premiered. Before that the clones were all in on the plan.
The PlayStation 2 Battlefront 2’s campaign had cutscenes that had a clone from the 501st talking about how they knew it was coming
I definitely love this explanation and version of the clone-jedi relationship as opposed to the old version
@@vex_d673 agreed
@@brendanoconnor1550 And that game was never canon.
0:34 Order 65 is a thing my guy lol but I doubt that will be used at this time. Same for order 37 which would be something I'm expecting later in another show you guys are gonna do.
14:32 Suraj letting those intusive thoughts win
We've come full circle. The general that was communicating with Dooku was the same general from the very first chronological episode of the series. The very first reaction.
It’s kind of annoying that you treat it as bad storytelling when it’s not. It’s just you’ve forgotten things and aren’t capable of putting 2&2 together. The clone wars is incredibly fleshed out. It’s just not spoon fed to you. Maybe you should listen and think more and you might not think it fails at exploring palpatines machinations. Rather than saying this is stupid or that character is and idiot. Maybe think why they make that decision with the information they have
Asking the Normies to use what little brains they have is like asking a skeleton to not be dead
It’s so fucked up to that for six seasons you see these clones kindness and loving humor only to see all that taken away once this order is enacted. All personality is gone and it’s not they’re fault just a paune only to become robots. so fucked up
That’s Darth Sidious for you. Everything and everyone in existence is nothing more than a pawn to further his own goals.
25:05 yes I agree if you love asymmetrical things than this was visually pleasing. Like the fact it’s a perfect circle is just amazing if my circle ended up like a weird oval I be like ‘well time to start again’💀
In Legends, it was the Clones decision on whether or not to follow Order 66. Most did but a handful, mostly commandos, refused to due to various reasons.
In Canon...well, I don't think I need to explain any further.
5:25 Wait a minute? Spidey has seen The Bad Batch before he's watched Clone Wars???
Wild that Spidey watched Bad Batch before TCW
Season 6 begins with a doozy of an arc, showing what happens when a Clone executes Order 66 early, and the resulting struggle to reveal/cover up this insidious conspiracy!
"That looks comfy..."
"A coffin?"
The late seasons of clone wars are the best starwars content period imo. They also solidified anakin as my favorite😂
Imagine if Ahsoka were her none of this would have happened
+This show did a U turn and is not heading towards the dark
Rana just wanted to trust one of her fellow long necks.
Oh dam, another heartbreaking art.... GOOD SOLDIERS FOLLOW ORDERS
14:56 Spidey is hilarious lmao
But also correct, she's fine af
To think that someone thought that it'd be a good idea to include episodes 6x08 and 6x09 after starting the season with this arc XD.
Syfo Dyas shows up in the Darth Plagueis novel
Rana is so adorable
I literally thought Chris said "Clone Wars isn't contained inside the boobies" xD
thought chris was supposed to be the star wars expert lmao
Exactly! The fact that he is clueless right now is wild
I am constantly amazed by Surej's voices :)
he has the battle droids down pretty well...
When they got excited to see fives 😶
This is gonna hurt
The most stressful Clone Wars arc we know the end result we know how close everything is and there’s nothing we can do.
2:33-Me when my folks would talk about Game of Thrones when it first came out because I wasn't allowed to watch it. Now, I'm on Season 5.
Hang in there, Rana. That Kaminoan clone scientist, Nala Se, will eventually redeem herself. Somewhat.
Yeah. You guys will like this arc
Guys! You already know Tupp from the Umbara arc.
i feel like the jedi were doomed by their insistence on "neutrality" while being attached solely to the republic, like theyve become nothing but a pawn for palpatine without any independance especially in terms of politics, so shakti isnt even able to argue anymore
Welcome to one of the darkest and best written arcs in Star Wars.
They were programmed with 150 commands in that chip each one created by Palps
Shame the space ring was never turned into a Battlefront map.
Oh ive been looking forward to you guys checking out this season
Every other word i laugh like abridged Popo
loved that joke that chris made it was genius😅😂
Good Soldiers Follow Orders
Plz you guys put The Legend of Vox Machina on your watchlist! Sorry I might be annoying about that, but I don't know where to put suggestions outside of comment sections. But you won't regret it; that show is a freaking gem! Two seasons already, a third confirmed, AND they also announced they are working on the sequel (although can you really call it a "sequel" if it's airing at the same time? lol).
Anyway, it's really worth it, you guys should check it out! :) Heck, I challenge you to watch the first 3 episodes and not be totally hooked! :)
OMG if you somehow missed Andor, you got to watch it. YES YOU NEED TO WATCH ANDOR.
Man I can’t wait for them to get to Star Wars: Rebels, Clone Wars is truly great, but the later highs of Rebels surpass it for me. It starts small, but when that show bangs it bang’s unbelievably hard!
Also you gotta read the son of dathomir comics it is amazing it should’ve been made into a clone wars arc
Andor had double the production money but also double the episodes as kenobi so they had an equal amount..
Good soldiers follow orders.
"Just following orders" Rana
I would rewatch a genndy version reaction a million times
It just hit me that the Normies thought Order 66 was a choice and not programming. Damn
They will technically find out in the final final season, and in bad batch if they consider watching it
Chris with teh jokes, RIP Shock G and Shakti.
Oof...Rana gonna have trust issues now lol
For real 😅 - Rana
You seriously thought the Clones turned on the Jedi of their own volition!?!? Bahahahaha!!!! Of course not! Given the choice almost all of them wouldn't have followed the order!
10:47 anyone told them yet that yularan was that guy in Anodor?
