Fun fact, this Arc takes place during the Outer Rim Sieges, during the last 6 months of the Clone Wars. During this time the Separatists invaded several worlds on the Outer Rim to spread the Republic all over there, leaving the Core Worlds, like Coruscant, more vulnerable.

Also to Chris and the rest of the couch, the Clone you referred to as "0" is actually 99, the clone with a hunchback who died during the attack on Kamino. With that in mind Clone force 99, also known as Bad Batch was named after him. Also Wreckers helmet actually has the numbers 99 in aurabesh

Disney canceled the show after season 5, but they were already in production on season 6, and the episodes that were finished were released on Netflix when they licensed the streaming rights. Disney wanted to create their own content, so they brought most of the animation team in to work on Rebels, albeit with Disney oversight. This season was produced and released after Rebels finished its run.

I think it was also a distribution rights issue with Cartoon Network that led them to have to cancel the show as well. This is why the episodes in season 6 that were already in post-production could be finished and released on Netflix but no further seasons could be made.

After one season of Bad Batch, I would have unquestionably said Rebels next. Rebels establishes so much canon relevant to upcoming shows that it is indispensable.
However,… season 2 of Bad Batch has been excellent. It is also a MUCH smoother transition from Clone Wars Season 7 to Bad Batch Season 1 because the animation is an evolution of this style, there are familiar characters, and it chronologically picks up right after Clone Wars.
Rebels is an animation downgrade (Due to a lower budget) and starts off with a brand new cast, 15 years or so later. It’s more “essential”, and it’s really freakin good…b

So, just to clear some things up about Order 66: it's not a "betray the Republic and do everything we say" mind control. It's designed to make the clones kill the Jedi in the event that the order is executed. And the Separatists (except for Dooku) don't even know the true origins of the Order, or possibly even that it's an Order the clones have been taught.
There are a lot of micro actions that are taken by the Separatists over the course of the war that are not directly connected to the macro actions surrounding Sidious and his plan for the Empire. Most of these micro actions are just opportunities for the Separatists to try and win the war, because they all think the whole point is to win. They don't know Sidious is playing them to consolidate power with the Chancellor's office so he can declare himself Emperor. The Separatists seceded (and later began the war) because they had legitmate issues with the corruption of the Republic, wanted to govern themselves independently and were then manipulated by Sidious and Dooku into becoming the galaxy's fall guys.

With what the guys were saying about Anaxes at the beginning: I'm pretty sure this system has been a contested one for most of the war. As it's basically Star Wars Cadia, the Separatist have thrown wave after wave at this bastion, trying to take it, and the Republic mobilizes all that it can spare while protecting the Core as possible.
This system is also where the first squadrons of what will become the Imperial type star destroyers first appeared, the Victory line to be exact, which were replaced by the regular ISDs during the five years between now and Fallen Order, which means they likely had the regular ISDs in R&D at the time. With the creation of the regular ISDs, the Victories would either be decommissioned or put as ships to be given away to lower ranking moffs and governors.

3:58 the reason for cancellation? There is no clear answer, but here is a little history lesson.
After the second cancellation with the season 6 episodes airing on Netflix in 2014, you look back at the release of projects once Disney took over, you will notice that they released stuff focused on a particular era, The Original Trilogy.
Hence, Rebels was created because the fans were always regarding the original trilogy as the best era, including me. The prequels weren’t highly regarded by fans around 2012-2014, the first years of Disney owning Lucasfilm.
Skip to 2018, Rebels finished with 4 seasons, the sequel trilogy is dividing fans before Ep 9: Rise of Skywalker, and the Solo movie bombed. But one thing remained constant, fans wanted to #savetheclonewars. In summer 2018, Dave Filoni and crew announced during their 10th anniversary of CW, that a seventh season is coming. Then 2020, the final 12 episodes aired on Disney+. And this final season is the reason for more animated SW stuff like Bad Batch and Tales of the Jedi. This is the closest to answering why at least if it still confusing.

The fact that Commander Cody was the sole Clone in the Republic that the Bad Batch was willing to take orders from really shows you how much power Cody had in the Republic military. Highest ranking clone in the Republic, had control of the entire 7th Sky Corps, had multiple Clone Commando squads under his authority (including the one Gregor was originally in) and had the experimental Clone Force 99 assigned to him. Rex said "I'm in charge now" and Clone Force 99 came back with "You're not Cody, dickhead, shut up."

    • @DarksideGmss0513

Wasn't Rex basically second in command under Cody.

    • @AustinFoss00
      @AustinFoss00 Год назад +2

@@DarksideGmss0513 Not really. They were in completely different groups and Rex was only a Captain until season 8, making him a few ranks below Cody. They only really worked together and became friends because Obi-Wan and Anakin are always together so their clones work together a lot. Cody runs the entire 7th Sky Corps as a Marshal Commander, and personally leads the 212th Attack Battalion (the shock troops of the 7th Sky Corps) as a commander with Obi-Wan, the other battalions in the 7th Sky Corps are run by their own Commanders, with Cody having authority over them as the overall Marshal Commander of the bigger 7th Sky Corps, which is also one of the largest Clone forces in the Republic. Cody outranks every other known Clone Trooper besides Commander Bly, who also holds the title of Marshal Commander. So for a Clone to be "2nd in command" to Cody they would have to be a Commander within the 7th Sky Corps.

There's an absolutely hilarious deleted scene that you can find online. Anakin and Rex are going to the Bad Batch's ship and Anakin notices something painted on the nose. It's Padme in a sexy pin up poster style holding a blaster. Wrecker and Hunter then explain "That's our girl. The senator from Naboo. We check her out on the holoscans," "Yeah! She can debate with me any day!"
Rex is standing there not knowing what to say and Anakin turns to him and pretty much growls "That's coming off!"
I know it was removed so that Padme's last scene on the show had more to do with her relationship with Anakin than making her a sex symbol, but man I still would have loved for that to have made it onto this "children's show"

In my opinion it’s better to go to Rebels from here. Bad Batch has beautiful animation and it would be an easier transition following season 7, but there are just too many storylines in Rebels that should take priority. Also we don’t know for how many seasons Bad Batch will go on for. I think it would be impractical to jump between the shows unnecessary ❤️

Bad batch takes place first chronologically and has the same animation style as clone wars. Plus since you're already introduced to the bad batch already it's better to get a start on their show rather than waiting
The only reason rebels would be first is because if the cameos in the bad batch that are only appreciated after watching rebels, that's not enough reason in my opinion

"They dont brutalize anyone else in Star Wars". Idk...Master Mundi breaking out the flamethrowers on the Geonosians was pretty intense, bugs or not. First time we've seen Jedi using tactics like that on living beings. Sabers sure, flamethrowers? Damn lol. Umbarans got pretty messed up by the clones too.

addressing how this "feels like a trailer", including this arc as the beginning of season 7 definitely served to promote the bad batch show, but interestingly enough these episodes existed in their almost complete form for YEARS before they got finished
you can watch the full arc of unfinished episodes still online, and aside from a couple small things they tweaked they are pretty much the same and were planned to be a part of the show way back before it got cancelled or the idea of a bad batch show even existed, with the batch being planned to show up in at least one more unmade arc down the line
as far as my vote, i'd say watching bad batch first would make more sense, seeing as it would be chronological, but its also more of a deviation with a bunch of side quests where rebels has like some key amazing star wars lore stuff go down
    so idk
it is a shorter watch though with only two seasons

I think you should do the Bad Batch next for a couple of reason. It's next in the timeline picking up right after the end of the Clones Wars season 7. A lot of clones are seen in that series as it really is the continuation of Clone Wars, using some story ideas they had planned out for Season 8 of the Clone Wars that they never got to make.
Also LucasFilm are starting to make connections between the Bad Batch and the Mandalorian.
