+Dean O I think the reasoning is that the left wing have always said parents are responsible for their children, therefore showing this does not make children drink beer so who cares. Left wing does not equal uptight by the way, it equals traditional values. In traditional values people were held accountable for their own acctions. Right wing, however, are the ones who day 'we can't offend anyone', 'we can't expect those poor parents out there to raise their kids ;_:' and 'we can't expect kids to ever pick the right thing!' However, I think the real lesson here is this... left wing, right wing, really they are the same thing. They don't actually adhere to any values in and of themselves, but are designed to change in accordance to whatever the culture is so that they can ever be at the opposite ends. IE if culture tells us alcohol is okay left will attack censorship of the industry, right will complain about how some minority religions don't like alcohol and we should be sensitive. If our culture says that alcohol is bad, the left will be all 'it's a sign of corruption!' and the right will be all 'it's suppressing our rights' That's why all this left and right nonsense needs to be put to rest, with each subject being evaluated on its own merit. There are some cases where we should be more liberal and some cases where we should be more conservative, as we understand the terms at this moment.

In Season 5 episode 4 Fred specifically mentions “Cactus Juice”
(And yeah I know I have too much time on my hands)
They weren't allowed to drink in the show, so it was Cactus Juice for non-alcoholic, and Cactus Cola for "adult beverage"
RIP George Lein. You could but those Busch back in the early 80's like a champion.
I wonder why Anheiser Busch commissioned a four minute beer commercial from Hanna Barbara? If it was seen by employees only, why go through the expense of writing it, voicing it and animating it? I'm sure it was a hit at the company meeting but how much did it cost?
I'd like to think the company had enough money to throw around and seeing the reactions of the employees would be worth enough anyway.
PartyRocker1013 Gussie Busch owned a baseball team in 1967. They won the World Series that year. I wonder if he would've invested in this spot if baseball salaries were ultra high back then.
+Gregg Colamonico First of all cartoon makers didn't make what they do now. Television didn't used to double dip in it's money. A program might have only one sponsor (ie the iconic 'brought to you buy ____ ' ), and people in the homes did not pay for television service. They paid for a TV, the 'brought to you by's paid for everything else.
Secondly, they did it to motivate employees. If you think about it, it's not any different then what companies do now, but really are you more entertained by a fun little cartoon (one that would have been popular among the workers at that ), or by the mind numbering nonsense companies like Walmart or Home Depot or the like put out now

+Gregg Colamonico 2 dollars the Flintstones had to cut corners alot on animation to save money
This is so cool
They pushed Winston cigarettes, too. Couldn't do it today.
Enjoying Busch as I watch this.
This was after "The Flintstones" went off the air.
I had read about this but never saw it until now! Quite the interesting project for H-B!
THANK GOD for youtube huh lol
Hanna-Barbara, we'll hawk anything for a buck!
Yes, they did produce a number of sales and promotional films during the 1960's- including another appearance by Fred and Barney in a 1968 Aurora Toys sales film.
@@fromthesidelines The Flintstones promoted a beverage mixer called Yabba Dabba Dew back in the late 70s and early 80s.
This is a classic commercial
