That would be something to see, although Tim might win easily. After all, his motto is "More Power!" However, this guy's mower is a true beast, even without Tim's jet engine. They should get together and do that some time! :)
I appreciate the fact that you actually mow with this beast. The only concern I would have is mowing over certain terrain and the front shocks allowing the deck to bottom out too hard.
Installing the cutting deck backwards means the cut grass has a much longer distance to travel before it gets ejected out of the deck. You would bog-down the motor of a normal 23hp machine with that design. You have compensated for that increased work load, with the higher hp motor cycle engine, so you may not encounter that issue. If on the otherhand it cuts like crap in long thick grass you'll know why now.
Deck does cut better in forward. If you ever notice. Forward leaves nothing behind nice smooth pass. Backwards at a long distance and it leaves a small line behind of the cut grass. So if this was foward. It would performer much better. The discharge doesn't work well in reverse due to how the blades turn in relation to the deck.
Thanks for the info, the blade direction compared to the deck is still original, the only difference is the deck itself is turned 180 degrees. I don't think it would work at all if the blades were running backwards too.....
The reason for it being the other way is because of the direction of spin on the blades and that your driving into the cut as opposed to driving through the cut and hitting it on the back of the spin. Means normally your blades will hit the grass more times after first cut. Doesn't really matter just gives the blades more whacks at the cut and uncut grass. Flip your blades the other way it will cut even better. Amazing machine definitely jealous. Cuts good because your spinning 10 times faster. Weld two blades together in an equal x and you could cut nice at probably 30kms per hour lol great job!
Very cool. Made me actually laugh out load when you started drifting. Instead of cross cut, you can now add "drift" to the optional patterns of mowing at golf courses and baseball stadiums! The Drift Cut.
The reason for the discharge being on the right rather than left is just to get rid of the clippings faster. The blades rotate clockwise and so when they cut the grass coming in from the front it discharges faster leaving a cleaner cut. Flipping the deck doesn’t make that big of a difference obviously, the clippings just stay in the deck a little longer until they get discharged
