- There saying its a good salmon season in California in 2022 and I can attest to that. I took out my longtime friend Jeff for some salmon fishing in Bodega Bay, CA. What happened, we were hopeful it would, was unexpected, two limits of great quality in under one hour of fishing.

15 HP Johnson I have to wait till they come into the river! I'm a die hard salmon fisherman I absolutely love it! My favorite thing to do I live for it!

Heck, my boat is a 12 ft 1956 fiberglass skiff with a 9.9 and I go out on Bodega without worry. I've never seen Chris out there yet but I always look for him. Just pay attention to the wind, swell, and period and avoid the bad days. However, I do have to agree that I am super jealous of how quick Chris and his friend filled their limits!!

Thank you for the video. We are going to try bodega Bay. We went out to Fort Bragg for a two day tuna fishing trip and got skunk. Missed one blue fine bit. Out of 100 boats only like five albacore got caught. But the week before we got into them we got about a dozen 17-25 pounders. Too much hot water in the area. 👍
Bodega is a Salmon desert..the commercial guys are mumbling about the poor fishing..the fish that were there, have moved south, and are off the Marin Coast…..August is usually a good month, but right now, it ain’t

Nice video bro! Also, good call on the 4 fin downrigger weights. I bought 2 at the Saturday event from a great guy at the Reel Custom Boat Works booth. I used them along with those pyramid flashers you recommended for the first time at half moon Monday. Did well for having no clue where they were. My video should be up soon 👍🏼

I would have buzzed into Tomales for some halibut after that. Why waste a day. Great video.
We all have our own opinion what a wasted day is I guess. Jeff and I both have wifes with kids at home. So the sooner we get home the better for them. The better for them the better we have a chance to go again. With salmon on the boat I cant use multiple rods or barbs. Need circle hooks if using bait. No day wasted when I am home at 11am and the boat is cleaned, fillets in the fridge and showered up (and not tired from long day of fishing). Got the whole day to spend with my family. @@ChrisPfish2 Sorry, waste a day was a poor choice of words on my part. It's just a lot of work getting up early and preparing for a day of fishing on a boat. I just like to utilize every opportunity that I can as long as I'm out there. I know what you mean by wanting to get home to the family. I all but gave up ocean fishing while raising my 3 kids, and now that they're grown I'm making up for lost time.

Was this today 8/10/2022, or just posted up today? I think the commercials hit it about a week ago. I fish out of bodega with a friend fairly often. Maybe we will bump into you one of these times. ;)
videos take many many hours. You have to transfer files to computer, then label each file with what it contains, then got to cut it all together on the editing software. Then I got to go through and work on the audio. Once its done I have to watch it a couple times to make final edits. Then I got to export it from the editing software. With that file I upload it to youtube. Once its on there I have to fill out all the empty boxes on the page. I am now filming in 4k which makes all the uploads, exports, transfers take way longer. Good rule of thumb is one minute of video took 1 hour to produce. I could never get one of my videos up same day. Generally I fish one day on the weekend, then edit it during the week when my kids go to bed. I have a m-f 9-5 job. Thanks for watching the video.
@@ChrisPfish2 just curious as per the bite. Thanks for the video. It does take a lot of work to fish, film, edit, proof, and upload for sure. I wouldn't think you'd get it same day, but a few folks (single, etc) go binge editing and posting. :) Not me either. 4k does take longer too, I hear you.
