I love that kitchen tool that separates egg yolks from the egg whites without destroying the yolks! I was checking below where the ingredients were listed to see if there was a link set up so you could purchase this kitchen tool! Sadly, there was no link! Not even any mention of this item! This is the first time I've ever seen this nifty little egg yolk separater! Great invention!
Hi Victoria. You can also use an empty water bottle to separate the eggs. As long as it’s a bottle that is flexible/squeezable. Having compressed the bottle slightly, put the bottle opening on top of the yolk, without breaking the yolk of course, then release your squeeze on the bottle, and the yolk should be sucked into the bottle. I would suggest practicing this technique when you are making any recipe with eggs where breaking a yolk into the white isn’t a deal breaker, as it would be wihere the whites have to be whipped up, and any fat (like the yolk) will keep the whites from reaching their full volume.

I made this with plain flour and soya milk and the cake tastes amaaaaziiing. For the icing, I did not have cream cheese and heavy cream, so I used soft cheese and clotted cream instead. As I mixed, the whole thing turned into a big hardened blob of butter.😭 I wasn't sure what to do at that point, then a tiny voice inside my head said, put granulated sugar. I did and mixed it again. The butter blob turned softer and I added a bit more and mixed and the butter softened. I added a bit more sugar then mixed. It turns out I made butter frosting. As I placed it on the cake it clung like clothes on skin. 😆 I was soooooo happy, I made frosting and placed it on cake for the first time! I looooved the outcome of the cake, not too sweet, soft and so good. My husband and I had a hard time not eating the whole thing in one sitting.

I made this just now. The butter for the frosting is overwhelming. Maybe next time i will reduce the butter a little bit. But it is good. Not too sweet. And that's good cause i don't like too sweet cake. Thanks for sharing all of your recipe.❤️❤️❤️

Baked the cake just now. The cake is light, soft and melts in the mouth. Didn’t frost. Great recipe!

That's a cheddar cheese block. She used full block and grate them like that to make long grated cheese effect.
