Thanks, Brother, I hope to check it out at a music store (with my bass) and really test it out.
I don't really understand the cutting of mids for slap play. To me the right amount of mids is essential for a good slap sound as you can hear the detail in the note better. Cutting the mids seems to also affect the highs in a way that dulls the sound. I don't know.
It's about taste!!!
This top low mid and high mid which give you that growl I bought a DH 250 TC electronic with tone print I don't have to buy no pedals you would download hundreds of sounds and feed it right to the amp through your pickup..
I just bought a and RH 750 and it sounds so good
I love that you spent a decent amount of time on the low and high mids, as that really effected the sound in very powerful ways. Everyone can add thump on the bottom and bright highs, but your review and this mid level tonal controls just sold me on the amp. thanks, so much Jermaine! btw, incredibly- sexy bass you have there
Really helpfull information. Great playing and usefull sound to judge the subtle changes in sound!
Thinking about getting it. Compared it to Trace Elliott. I think this TC Electronic blows the Trace Elliott away. I'll get the BQ500 and the BAM200. They're excellent for the bread.
I want to acknowledge you for creating a platform for bass players at all levels to learn and become better. I use the TC BH800 with the TC RS212 cabinet and it cuts through so far no matter what scene your in. It can get muddy stage presence wise with just 12's if you play with a heavy low end organ player, but I always get compliments in the audience of the sound. Jay Rasado (Lauren Hills Bass Player) put me onto TC Electronics and I never turned back. For the price, weight and quality, you can't go wrong. Can you do a segment on building a pocket in crowded space? (Bass vs Organist foot pedal..Bass vs Keyboard Player running bass lines)..🤣 This happens more in church bands as keyboard, organist and pianist tend to default play their version of basslines when they don't either know their chords, try to figure out on the fly, use to playing by themselves etc......
Thanks! Greatly appreciated. I'll look into that.
Beautiful, detailed demonstration of the tone stack. With this amp it looks sooo simple to get just a tone you're after. Thank you!
... I think it's going to be good for what I do Price is Right, just bought a brand new Fender Jazz Bass, the 500 watt amp is next thanks
Like it . When the budget allows.... I will get one
cool deal
I have a TC Electronic self contained 250 amp with the twelve inch speaker.
Plenty of massive tones.
More than what they demonstrate.
Depends on the basses you're using.
And your personality as a performer (makes a grand difference).
Highly recommended.
I really enjoy this head. Currently paired with (2) K212's and it sings! Thank you for the demo and review. It's nice to see and hear someone supporting the inexpensive stuff too. Form and function always wins!
Thanks for the demo of this amp Doc! I Love it!👍🏽👍🏽
Would you generally recommend this amplifier? I say this because of the error in the passive / active switch, or will it be fixed already? the other question, with which cabinet would this amplifier go well? a 2x10? or a 2x12? Which one would you recommend? and with what resistance? 4 ohms? Greetings and thanks
I'd recommend. 2x12 Works great with it. I'd honestly go with a TC K212 or any of the K series cabinets
Might have to got cop one of them doc!
Devin Cheatham absolutely
The amp sounds great I like the thrust on it
It's cool man!
Mid's are you friend.
good job on the video it sounds good
Do you still recomend it??
Thx for the demo. Looks like a great lil set up. “What you see is what you get” amp design that’s simple and not goofy with bells and whistles that probably should be on a floorboard
What's the gig bag that you use on your six-string Warrior bass what's the name of it
Great demo.
Hey hey I enjoyed the video do you still have that bass amplifier head because I am thinking about buying one of these
Hey bro,i was wondering do you use any of these two amps at a large venue or do you have a more expensive version of a tc electronic rig???
Hey man, I generally use my RH750 for gigs
@@JermaineMorganBass ok thank you bro!! I love your vids and your style. I learn alot from you as well!!
Just curious. Do you know how to play the regular electric guitar too?
Yes I do
Hi, we have the Hartke 115 and 210 Cabinets (8 ohms), would that work with this amp, I read min 4 ohm to be used, but would it work fine with 8ohm cabinets ? Sorry am new to this. We are buying a new bass amp head for the church, would love to get suggestions.
Jasper Two 8 ohm cabs daisy chained is a parallel wiring and will present the amp with a total 4phm load. So yes, you can run those cabs with the BQ500 if you need to demolish any nearby buildings.
Hi Jermaine,
I've watched this video a few times and although I haven't played bass in a very long time so I class myself as a beginner.
I purchased the BQ250 version and been using it mainly with headphones until I purchased the new TC Electronics BC208 Cab if you ever get the chance please do a review on the cab I think you'll be impressed especially with the BQ500.
Thank you for a great review...
Carl Reid thanks Carl, I’ll look into that.
Awesome review Jermaine! You really showed the tonal flexibility of this head. Seems like it's got enough volume to play with a drummer and band. I wonder is the 250 watt version has enough power? Probably worth it just get this 500 watt version.
El Tigre thanks, I haven’t used the 250 but the 500 is a beast with the live band. 👍🏾
Jermaine, just want to point out that this amp comes with the act/pass switch inverted and while you're playing, your peak led is activating constantly, it appears that the passive positiion is for active basses and the active for passive basses. I just got this amp and that's what currently trying to figure that out.
Seems to be that way for whatever reason. Other than that confusing fact the amp hasn't seemed to be a problem.
Just picked up a RS212 and have been hunting for a small compact head to run it with (my Hartke LH500 weighs too much) - this thing is exactly what i'm after .. thanks for the review
i was just about to get a lh500,but just seen its like 10kg,thats heavy(not as heavy as amps in 60s tho),but this little baby seems like a good work horse
Sounds good-warm. I have the BAM 200.
cool!
Seen mixed reviews on this amp but love your demo. Are you still using it and more importantly loving it?
I actually gave mine away to someone in need, but I still think it's a great buy.
Dang I think I need one of these!
Great video I bought a DH 250 with tone print TC electronics I love that little top..
Hello everyone I have such a head. It doesn't work well, it turns off briefly during the game!!! I don't know what to do.
Hi great demo, I'm new to bass do I have to have a cab connected to use, I just want to use headphones and record thanks
You can use headphones. Not necessary to have the cab. However it's not a recording interface.
Hi there what kind of cab in 2*10 do you advice ?
After talking with Jermaine through email I bought the BQ250 to set up in my home studio I love it especially the balanced XLR out where you can choose the pre/ post button. You can dial in your tone on your amp through the post and send it right into the audio interface. I am about to order the RH450 for live shows as well. Thanks for your insightful demo and all of your help.
This or the Hartke TX600 which is about 100 watts and 100.00 more??
I just ordered the bq500 4x10 and 1x15..it cant get here fast enough.
great review ! I own this little amp - its a great value and great sounding amp .
Great review sir. I've watched several on this amp and this video is through and concise.
I bought one of these 6 months ago and use it through 2 x10 and 1 x15 cabs. It sounds really good.
That's insane! and for that price? It's a no brainer. Damn TC is thinking of the working man's wallets.
Great vid:) what’s your intro music?
Wow. Just great natural tour of the amp.
Hi,
Can the DI be used without a speaker load without damaging the amp? I'm in a band where we are going to a silent stage.
I'm pretty sure! You can further research it.
yes you can, I don't have a cab, I've been using it for recording.
jmwreck can you silently rehearse with just the headphones on and not have it connected to a cab or nah?
@@jaxonvictoria4345 yeah I think so, it has a cab emulator built in, I don't have a cab but I have an interface that accepts the xlr out of the bq500, my interface has a headphones out so I'm using that.
this is from TC's website:
"Studio-quality headphone amplifier with speaker emulation for personal practice and silent rehearsals"
@@jmwreck does the volume on the front affect the volume of the signal going out of the DI or is it always the same?
Mine should be here this week!
you are very good lmao
It's hard to tell in the video but, does it get loud? Your opinion..can you hook 2 speakers to it? Does that affect the watts? Thanks. Enjoyed the video.
Yes it does. Typically with TC rigs you daisy chain from cab to cab. I'm pretty sure It would push multiple combinations of speakers. It's a very powerful little amp.
@@JermaineMorganBass Thank you for your reply..
hi there. Can you recommend me some affordable cabinets to match with the tc bq500?
Man we just talked through email about the Rh 450 and now I see this and I am torn between the two. I am on a budget so you may have swayed my decision again
Why are you torn between them? What's the difference between the two units? I assume you would go for the BQ500 as it has more watts? I'm thinking about buying the BQ500 myself at the moment...
@@Brenners2010 well the budget was the big decision for me. I bought the BQ500 I love it for many reasons but will eventually buy the Rh450 because I simply love that amp and everything it has to offer
@@Harperclan7 Is the BQ500 loud enough for a large bar setting? I'm worried that it wont be loud enough if I pair with with a 2 by 12 speaker
@@Brenners2010 absolutely most of the time I just use a 2x10 cabinet or I just line out to the PA system great amp for that
This bass is Warrior?
Yes. It’s a Warrior Isabella
