Belligerent Whale then tuff change your setting and life and keep trying to better yourself can’t keep weighing hypotheticals cause then nothing gets done
This was awesome. This is the kind of strategic thinking that is missing from a lot of wrestling programs. Usually you learn a bunch moves and drill them endlessly but never really learn how to apply them. This is the difference between strategy and tactics
Absolutely agree. Channels like this are allowing young wrestlers to see how this all connects and /or how it should connect in a wrestling match. In America, especially in high school wrestling, if the coach is not of high caliber, expect practices to be conditioned base without really a way of teaching their wrestlers how to develop their own style.
A lot of the focus in youth wrestling is on encouraging wrestlers to do everything with 100% intensity. It isn’t often that wrestlers are told to slow down and think about the strategy. Also, being playful and experimenting with strategy is generally discouraged because it won’t make you “tough enough”. This became clear to me after I started training Muay Thai.
Hey Francesco, I just published a video to my channel with 2x All American Mitch Minotti from Lehigh. We break down the whole match and he really went in depth and show us the nuances of his technique and mindset. If you enjoyed this I think you'd enjoy ours. This is one of the best wrestling instructional videos I have ever seen. He puts emphasis on fundamentals and principles. He shows what it looks like and explains why he is showing it.
Want to see how his encounters with different types of wrestlers in his career effected his theory on stance and motion over time? Specifically after wrestling Jb and Cox. His stance evolved dramatically in 2016, stopped leading on head, kept arms very tucked. Watch his 2016 bouts with Dieringer. Dieringer had no idea where to tie up with him. Years later, a lot about his movements changed after practicing with Cox for Worlds. You can see it in all of his 2019 Worlds matches and, again, how he wrestled Dieringer from outside the tie. Dieringer clearly wasn’t expecting that. Dake is so good because he’s constantly evolving

Since I'm living in a small town because of my work, I can't practice it. All I can do is work out and hope to move to a big city in the coming years.
I recently started doing wrestling after doing jits since I was 6 its fun but boy is it frustrating lol I cant drop my hips or go to my back or go on my knees while on top so its a bit difficult to get the habits out of my head
I am a jitz guy too. But I'm sure you know as well as I do, wrestlers are some of the meanest boys out there. I am a blue belt and a wrestler just about put me through the mat on his first day. Now I'm here to learn.
Very awesome instructions I like how he talks about free space aka the transitions between positions because lots of times we drill positions but not the transitions or even micro transitions between those positions
Thank you for this amazing video. As someone that is a natural striker (Muay Thai and TaeKwonDo, but mostly a Kickboxing style because of my footwork and stance), it was nice to see this video to get some of the basics and do some drills at home to improve my grappling (I can wrestle pretty well as well). Thank you! I should get to a wrestling gym soon :P
