- In this weeks video we installed some long tube headers onto my 89 Chevy K5 with a 5.7 350. A few little bumps in the road with it but overall pretty happy. Follow along for the rest of the build.
Hope ya'll enjoy it!

I know you from Victory Junction, Andrew! 🤙🏻
Hah you sure do!!! How’ve you been!!
Really good, my friend! @@TheBarrierBrigade
Did you get footage of the work you did to get headers on?
I don't think I have any footage in the engine bay of them going on but for the most part they seemed to slide in relatively easy
Did you happen to have any issue on the passenger side? I'm installing the same headers on a 89 c2500 and it seems like I'm getting hung up on the starter
Nope, no issues at all on the passenger, it seemed to fit right on there with no issues. I wonder if the starter is different because of a different transmission?
Hey man what did you do with the o2 sensor?
Somebody else had done something with the exhaust before me so I was fortunate to not have to do anything with it.
Hey man I have a 92, and that stupid bracket that you said you had to modify, is what is isn’t mounting back on, I’ve seen people completely remove it, what did u do and what do u recommend?
Well I'm no professional lol but I notched it to fit, so it is still attached in some spots but the one spot where it was hitting I cut off.
cool man I actually just removed it completely and everything has been good so far.
@@ricardocamacho4153 I wonder what it actually does…
I’m doing this on my 91 k1500, long tubes and passenger side fit perfect, can’t seem to get around the oil filter with the drivers side header. Any ideas?
Yea! I had to use this remote oil filter kit. There are 2 videos about it! Here is the first one, hope it helps!

@@TheBarrierBrigade thanks a bunch! I just found out it’s also hitting the front driveshaft too so that’s just great haha.
@@ethanbisgard6177 that one I have no idea about lol my “y pipe” was hitting the front driveshaft, that was most of the reason that I did the headers
@@TheBarrierBrigade yeah I’m not to sure what I gotta do other then beat it till it fits really, I ordered up that oil filter relocation kit so that’ll solve one issue atleast lol
So whats the part number for the headers I bought Headman long tube # 69440 and the Pass side will no way fit Hits the upper control arm rear mount, I removed the starter and the Trans dust cover No way .. its a 1989 swb 350 from fact 700r4 trans RWD
Which jegs long tube headers did you use?
Be carefull bud,if you got a stock engine bay in an early obs just get shorty headers,i got jegs long tubes and they dont fit in the engine bay
I used the painted long tube headers, fits small block chevy with a black finish. 1-1/2" tubes with 3" collectors, came with an adapter for 2-1/2" I believe. Part #: 30055
They fit just fine in mine aside from the few modifications I had to make with the oil filter and power steering bracket. Overall it wasn't a bad fit.
@@lamborgatti-4783 I got a stock 1989, would it fit?
@@TheBarrierBrigade i ordered the same headers as you for my 90 V1500 suburban. Didn’t see your video til I was getting ready to put my rebuilt motor in lol. At this point Iv ordered the same oil filter relocation kit since it was real close to my oil filter…
Egr?
What brand?? Wh re did you get them
Jegs painted long tube headers for small block chevy, I actually got them on amazon.
Would have been nice to see the headers before you installed them.
Sorry, I’ll try to remember that for next time, honestly they were some cheap headers from kegs I think so I didn’t think there was anything special about them haha didn’t think anybody really cared much about them
