Finally listened to it and _wow_ this was amazing! Everyone was at the top of their game here, and seeing all of the machinations the Masters made around each other was both as entertaining as you’d imagine, and also sad in what it says about the Master as a whole. I don’t think any other story that I’ve watched/heard/read has ever summed up the character so well- especially with that truly chilling twist at the end. Using Jo Grant as a representation of Delgado’s era in lieu of the late great man himself was a clever touch (especially since it’s her 50th Anniversary too), as was Kamelion filling in for Ainley- the latter might be testing the waters for the possibility of a full-on recast, but in this story at least it works beautifully. This was my first exposure to Alex MacQueen’s Master and I’m _definitely_ going to have to listen to more of his absolutely amazing take on the character. Milo Parker does a really good job holding his own, considering this is his first ever performance in the role and he’s up against actors who’ve played them for years- you can see the beginnings of the future he’s so appalled by nevertheless take their hold in him. The absolute standout, though, has got to be Geoffrey Beevers getting to play some atypically quiet and peaceful moments in the Master’s life- I really felt for him in his sub-plot. All in all, I would recommend this story to anyone who likes the Master at all. 10/10
The unfortunate problem that came from this crossover is that I couldn’t really tell Geoffrey Beavers’ and Derek Jacobi’s voices apart. The Jacobi Master fought the Eighth Doctor in Rage of the Time Lords, despite coming after the Child Master from the comics, who fought alongside the War Doctor (who comes right after 8). I’d imagine that the Time War’s nature allows for the Master and the Doctor’s timelines to be so wack without screwing over the continuity later on, and that the Jacobi Master probably had a few adventures early in the war from everyone else’s perspectives, but from his it would be later.

Big Finish! Where's the First-Master?!
@@louisward6881 As I understand it there was kind of an incident on Twitter and the result was Big Finish deciding to keep him at arms length.
@@louisward6881 James Dreyfus brought up the transgender toilet argument on twitter and basically got cancelled and crucified by the internet. So BigFinish have cut all ties with him. The Psychic Circus will be his final appearance.
Big Finish: The only company still making actual DOCTOR WHO. God bless them.
I think Milo could be the second incarnation, he might even be from between Simm and Gomez, but I think he might most likely be the second
Jimmyhebe I doubt he would be in between Simm and Gomez. Considering that it’s a lot simpler to not insert anyone in between the two. Also it would possibly interfere with new series continuity as it would reduce the amount of lives the Master has left in his new regen cycle
Now wall we need is Sachas Master
Big Finish’s Doctor Who licence only extends to Twice upon a time. So they can’t use anything from the 13th Doctor era
@@EditedAF987 Until Jodie Whittaker eventually leaves the show that is, then they'd be able to use stuff from 13's era.
They have to produce 77 Sacha stories for the 77 most infuriating years of his life.
im guessing the one weve never seen before is meant to be the master who teamed up with the war doxtor in the comics
randomness 234 You mean Milo Parker?
@@isabelh5561 yeah
I’m not sure. Besides it would be a little difficult for Big Finish to explain the timeline difference between the young War Master and the Jacobi War Master as all of the Jacobi stories take place very early on in the time war yet the young war master was working with the War Doctor

Ah Missy, always the non-conformist. The odd man out, so to speak
Spe-ta-cu-lar!
Masterful! ;)
I'm pretty sure they somehow snuck Sacha Dhawan into the story somewhere.
No, because they can't.
@@tardisglitch547 I know why they can't, but on the other hand, I believe Big Finish can find a way around it.
Sacha's maniacal cackle is second to none.
@@gladiator652004 Is he in the story or not?

I don't recognize one of those faces.
He's called Milo Parker apparently, he hasn't played the role before
He's only 17 though, he's in the film Mr Holmes
@@jasonhebedead1710 WTF? He's younger than me and the voice training to be in an Audio Drama?

I know it's not fair; It's 1 of the several things I plan to bring up, when I die and God tries to lecture me about how everything he built about Earth was: 'Good.'
AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
how come the bodies the master takes over revert to his original decayed state
Because they can’t withstand his timelord essence, they’re too weak to be able to fully cope
Because the timelords shouldn't have to steal bodies and those bodies begin to decay, which is why in the TV movie the master was picking his skin, because the body had begun to decay already, but the eye of harmony and the vortex boosted him and he survived longer in the Eric Roberts body than he should have done
Maybe the new Master might make an appearance.......;)
Ziyad Baksh I doubt it as Big Finish’s Doctor Who licence only extends to the Capaldi era. Although Sacha has worked with Big Finish before so I’m confident they’ll be able to get him when they eventually get the rights to the Whittaker era
@@EditedAF987 I would love to see a future Master family reunion with the Spymaster, or indeed a Spymaster series.
