I wouldn’t consider leaking names being spoiler, since it tend to add more questions than giving out answer.
Actual spoiler would mean talking about plot twist and drastic story point.

Such as if someone said that Omni-man would kill Immoral a second time or that Robot got a new human body before it actually happened, those would be spoiler.
@@Zack_Zander at the end of the day, giving name still makes people expect that person to appear. So they now know that 2 viltrumites, thragg and conquest, are ggoing to appear and be even meaner than nolan. That in itself is a spoiler. It's better to just not say anything, and let the new viewers go in completely blind.

Glad somebody else appreciates Cecil. He’s a normal guy put in an exceptionally abnormally dangerous position. He does whatever it takes to keep the human race safe. He doesn’t always make morally good decisions, but he neither wants to make those kinds of decisions, nor does he relish having made them. He’s a good guy, in a not so good world.
To quote the comics: "You can be the good guy, or you can be the guy who saved the world. They're not always the same guy."

Probably a double meaning. A little hint before you actually read the comic. Maybe even a reference to the conflict he has on either going by his own kinds rules or choosing Earth's.
You blew my mind
Well, it’s been a few years but let’s see how much of this I remember. Omni- come from “Omnes, Omnis” in Latin which means “every” in the singular and “all” in the plural. So it could be a reference to omnipotent or homicide, but I suspect it may have a bit of a double meaning in a slightly different way. In the most obvious sense, it’s probably a tongue-in-cheek reference to Superman. Superman has sometimes been accused of and calculating this Uber Mench that has some loose ties to Nazism. Since we know that Nolan is an intergalactic conqueror, it could be a subtle nod to his belief that he is superior to every man - in essence his existence negates the necessity of all other men.
Rewatching the series with my friend. When Omni-Man said “Earth is not yours to conquer” to the Flaxan...that line hits so different now.
It's like what Cecil said to Damien Darkblood: "That's the problem with you demons. You only see the world in good and evil. I need to keep it in that gray area."
"Sure, I was happy for a time, but I am loyal to Viltrum." I have a feeling that line will be very important later on. We see he's not completely void of humanity, so maybe there's a chance Mark and the other heroes can show him how messed up Viltrum's mindset is and pull him over to their side down the road.
If you read the comic, you'd know he found that out himself.

This is exactly why people gave Superman so much shit over fighting Zod in the middle of a major city.
Forgot about that already. I guess they expected Zod and others to be like: "You, let's step outside".
@@DanteRU0312 The problem is that superman was the only one able to fly and intentionally aimed for most cost of lives and property dmg. They litterly started the fight in open field and superman just casually flew them into a gas station killing alot of people for nothing.
@@9529jake exactly! They weren't going to let him just change locations once the fight actually started, but he started the fight by moving it into a heavily populated city.
@@9529jake There was also that moment during the fight with Zod, where when he kicked that gas tanker at Superman, and he just jumped out of the way to allow it to explode a nearby skyscraper, killing dozens more. Couldn't bother to catch it or something, Supes?
This was THE episode that made me almost PUKE, CRY AND LAUGH at the same time...

It made me think the show was overhyped. Like it was good but I was expecting something unique. I totally predicted this and could write an essay on why Omni-Man’s motivations and actions are stupid.

Also yes in terms of what he wants to do and why he wants to do it his actions are stupid he just couldn't see why killing all those people in front of his son wouldn't get him to side with him even though Mark made it very clear he was disgusted with his father's actions and beliefs, and committing rampant genocide isn't the best way to spread your empire's peace and prosperity just the cruelest. Like what about him saying the best way for my species to help you is to kill most of you sounds congruent?

He took Mark saying he doesn’t want to be like him as childish and stupid. He’s a devoted viltrunite. It’s not blind devotion. He knows what he’s doing because that’s the way he was raised. That’s the way viltrumites do things. So yeah. I disagree with you
I know it may be hard to believe, but for Viltrimite standards, Omni Man is a very loving a lenient father.
When it comes to the whole fight sequence and Nolan's reasoning you kind of have to overcome the "human" point of view and look at it from "God's perspective". What Nolan said to Mark was very reasonable and even logical. Think of it this way, if our life span makes us Pets/animals (like he said about Debie), Viltrimite life span makes them human. Humans love and care for their pets, some even love their pets more than other humans, but in the end, human life is more important in the grand scheme of things. Eventually, our pets won't live anywhere near the amount of time as us, but we don't really get to live so long as well, which is why we tend to cling to pretty much anything that we can to enjoy the short ride we are on.
Viltrimites on the other hand don't, their ride lasts so long that they get to see the natural birth of a planet and its natural end before they even look 60. They get to see their (actual) animals die before they even blink. So at some point, if your life is so incredibly long, you'll naturally come to a realization "why keep going thru it? Why keep letting myself get hurt? Why should I keep getting thru this fast and endless cycle of love, loss, and death? Why should I care If they are just going to blink before my eyes?".
Their lives are more important because they are Human. And we are their kettle, their pets. We are here to sustain them, to play by their rules, to entertain them, for them to do with us whatever they see fit or deem necessary. Why? Because THEY are at the top of the food chain. Just like we have the power to do whatever we want with our animals, they have the power to do whatever they want with us. If a wild animal (or a pet) attacks a human, it gets put down. If we attack them, we get put down. Even animals with higher brain function, whom we know can feel emotions and empathy are still just animals whit whom we can do anything we want. It's not nice, but that's how nature works. The one with more power gets to chose.
So what Nolan said wasn't meant to hurt Mark, he was trying to clear his eyes and help him understand why saving a human is more important than saving an animal. - "It's right to pity them Mark, WRONG to value them over your own kind!".
"Is mom's life worthless?" -> "In the grand scheme of things, yes.". - Is animal life worthless? In comparison to humans? Yes.
The thing is, everything he said in that conversation wasn’t just to mark, but also to himself. He was trying to convince himself that he didn’t care for humans, their civilization, that he didn’t truly love his wife and son and his life on earth more than he was loyal to viltrum. But in the end, his love for his son outweighed his loyalty to his empire.

The big blood splatter in the title was probably the smallest amount of blood spilled this entire episode.
I always watch every reaction of this episode for the sole reason to see the train scene. It's always hilarious seeing everyone either disgusted or in shock.

This episode is all fun and games until you realize that Omni-Man making some legit good points

Yeah he did, he looked into himself and realised, his son was more important than his mission to him. To a Viltrumite, that is anathema.
Man, this show was fantastic. I can’t wait for season 2 & 3.
With how much of a hit it’s been, I think they will keep doing new seasons until they go all the way through the comics to the end.
The gore and violence in the fight between Omniman and Invincible is seriously jacked up in comparison to comics.
At the very least in the comics Nolan didn't crush some dude's head right in front of Mark, didn't use Mark as a battering ram against a running train, and there was no falling building scene. Don't get me wrong, a lot of people died as a result of that fight, but Nolan didn't actually go out of his way to try to give his son a PTSD.
One thing they changed from the comics is that Donald doesn't die in the comics until later on.
Well, technically, he died once before the events of the comics, was fixed up and revived, then died later

In the comic he’s already a cyborg after having been basically killed before the events of the story. But in the show, it’s likely that they changed it to be this is where he was basically killed, and they’re going to bring him back as a cyborg later. There was blood when omniman grabbed him by the spine; that wouldn’t have happened if he was already a cyborg (since he’s like 98% machine)

It’s actually explained in the comics that the mustache is a ceremonial thing. Normally I wouldn’t explain anything from the comics as it can get spoilery fast but figured that little fact wasn’t too important.

I don't understand why so many people use human morals to try to understand aliens like this. From his perspective humans are literally insignificant and that's understandable.
Dude it’s completely obvious he sees things that way and looking at things from his prospective is how you point out they’re wrong and seeing things from your frame of reference is the best way to understand others. Much like how Omni-Man compared his wife to a pet. In the grand scheme of time and this sort of universe all life is insignificant and no individual life matters, but when you have them together the individual is one part of a whole even if the individuals never interact which is what’s lost on Omni-Man on why murder and genocide are bad.

some say its due his dads violent dna. the process of culling the weak over time set them up for the blood bath to a point. id like to see him develop some ptsd just so we can see how he handles it and grows.

@@DanteRU0312 also you're possibly wrong because I just looked it up Trauma can affect dna. Also there is a study of the psycho gene. It more or less says that generations of crazy, aggression, and trauma can affect offspring. So yeah genetics and psychology is kinda linked.
The best way I've heard the fight scene described was "...Nolan beat Mark with everything but his belt.."
A few things that were changed were Amber(her race and roll in the story), she has more of a character in this iteration and I'm genuinely curious if theyll keep what happens later in the story.
Another difference was Mark's mom investigating what's going on, she didnt even know OmniMan called her a pet until FAR later in the comic.
Damion Darkblood had more time to shine in this series, he basically was a gag character who showed up once then didnt show up til after OmniMan turned turncoat and said "OmniMan is evil".
Mark's friend was straight until near the end of the series. So them being straight forward about it is refreshing.
The college stuff happened while Mark and his class were visiting the campus for a school trip, having the group of friends visit the campus made more sense narratively.
Also his school principal was the 1 who dropped the "You're not invinvible" quote that led to Mark's name, not Nolan.
Btw, the train scene was NOT in the comic, that was all the series' idea, and I love this show all the more for it.

No! Why do people feel the need to spoil it for others? I've read the comics too, let others enjoy the reveal themselves.
To me Omni man is more like Vegeta in early DBZ, them Superman besides his looks. Because world conquering alien race, prideful of his race, slow age(even tho Omni man will live longer), super strength, speed, etc. And that’s not a bad thing for him and the show.
And also I can’t wait for season 2.

@@anitaremenarova6662 Um, can a single Viltrmite, by themselves, take down the universe-busting Darkseid, fly over 2,000,000x the speed of light, hold a black hole in their hands, survive a literal universe-worth of magic exploding in their face, or pull an entire solar system-worth planets to safety after chaining them all together? Because Superman has done all these things and more. The reason for that is: #1, the DC writers have realized that they can literally get away with basically anything when writing Superman, and #2, Omni-Man and the entire Viltrumite race were based off of Superman and are basically just way weaker versions of him with fewer powers.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing Omni-man get beaten until he's bloody. Give him a taste of his own medicine, you know.

As much as people hated Omni man for this mark definitely needed this beating. Viltumites are even worse and do much worse. He would get his ass kicked and demolished and would be in shock if he came up against any other viltumite. He wouldn’t be ready. He probably would be considered weak and be killed. At least this way he’s a bit ready when he does come up against any other viltumite.

The first time I saw this episode I was just thinking of characters that could wreck Omni Man. I settled on Doomsday. He could annihilate Omni Man's entire Plante and they would be able to stop him.
Uh... I mean, I guess he could but there is a problem. As someone who knows the comics, it's not as easy as that
