I really appreciate how transparent he is about his process. Social media is constantly displaying finish pieces, and so as an artist, I feel like it’s so much easier for everyone else. It’s reassuring to see someone else struggle with the same things I do even though they have way more experience than me.

I don’t think the brand id stuff itself is all that important to anyone other than other designers and psychopaths. If you’re clear and legible and you’re a likable person then that’s it you’re good to go.
The what not to do list - so much truth. "But that neon outline looks cool!" Sure, just that your brand looks outdated and not appealing to young buyers now.
For some reason It raised my blood pressure watching you filling the logo when you are able to just drag the color and fill the shape, for God's sake 😤

Love the detail of this video. I wonder if next time you could consider presenting the final outcomes at the end so it feels like a cohesive way to wrap up? I tend to overthink how to display brand guidelines, and I felt a bit lost at the end without seeing the cover image laid out with everything etc. Still a perfectly broken down process! I appreciate how much you share with us
