I really appreciate how transparent he is about his process. Social media is constantly displaying finish pieces, and so as an artist, I feel like it’s so much easier for everyone else. It’s reassuring to see someone else struggle with the same things I do even though they have way more experience than me.
I am a beginner designer who takes his first step into visual brand identity. Man this video really helps to give a hint at how the process is and how you can approach this type of work. Greatly appreciated, amazing video! ❤
Haha!Hello Will. I live in Turkey and I am a designer. In Turkey, customers always want quick final, and sometimes we designers who live in Turkey. finish and do best in a day. Well done! You are a Turkish designer in this video. :))
Love the detail of this video. I wonder if next time you could consider presenting the final outcomes at the end so it feels like a cohesive way to wrap up? I tend to overthink how to display brand guidelines, and I felt a bit lost at the end without seeing the cover image laid out with everything etc. Still a perfectly broken down process! I appreciate how much you share with us
Thank you Will, I’m 23 years olds, andyou’ve been my main inspiration the past 2 years to keep doing art. I’ve been drawing since I was 7 y/o, but with Covid and me now having to really take adult life more serious, I’ve lost time to draw and honestly started losing my passion for my craft, I don’t typically do logo designs unless it’s family or friends asking me too, but watching you design and teach about logo design has really sparked my inspiration to try new styles and techniques and try to take what your teach in incorporate it into my style of art. So thank you Will for keeping my passion alive and honorable mention to Brad Colbow as he’s as big of an inspiration to me as you, he’s the reason I got an iPad and got into digital art.
Wow that was really cool! Coincidentally I just did something very very similar to this just to refine my own design skills. I spent a little over a month rebranding a different company in my home town every day. It worked out to be 21 total rebrands, and it was a ton of fun! I called it the Brandular Challenge. So for me what that looked like was, 1) brand strategy, 2) logo, 3) business card [and I didn't cheat and use a template like Will🤣], 4) one additional piece of brand collateral usually revolving around layout design. I didn't do brand guidelines though, I thought that would be too hard to do in a single day😅. Super cool to see somebody else do a similar challenge! Keep up the good work Will!

Hey Will! Nice video, wouldn’t it be interesting if you made maybe a part 2 where now you try to create for the same company, but with more time? 😁 Just an Idea.
I just bought the Assets 4D Template. It would be great if you would do a video that shows how to take a project and apply it to the template. Or show more examples of how it has been used. And maybe show what to write in the Lorem Ipsum.
Thank you so much for this. I have just found your channel, and it has helped me explain WHY to the client. Some couldn't care less, but others want a lot of detail that I just kept in my brain.
I have been studying graphic design for two and a half years, and I have reached a very wonderful stage. I love the field of designing logos and visual identities, but I still fail. When I work on a logo for a company, I fail to get a good logo, whether in the idea or in the way it is drawn. Help me to solve this problem because I believe that education is Solution and determination is not a talent
i just got one question...when you design a logo like this which is typographic, what identity do you give the font??, as you yourself made it.. hope you got what i mean!
I do a "VIP" process that is a brand identity in a week. It's a minature version of my larger packages - for people on a budget and/or with a time constraint. :) When you were sweating the last few hours, I could relate. That's usually how I feel during the "back and forth" time I offer for concise feedback. :P
Brilliant as always, Will. Was the gency invite a limited time offer? i wasn't able to access it via your bitly link, and when I went directly to their site my only option was to 'indicate interest' for possible future access. No place to put a code, etc. Just wanting to make sure I'm not missing something. Thanks!
Gency have paused operations for the moment from what I understand, but if you get in touch with them I'm sure they'll be able to clarify better than I can :)
HI Will, I think you did a great job with the logo, but i think the colors are too vibrant, I reckon that fi you would tone the purple and orange down a little it would look even better. As an artist, this is one of the first things I learned "that its better not to choose the most vibrant colors).
Sorry, but I think it's not always so black and white (half a pun ;D). As an artist myself, some of the most successful logos in history use very vibrant colors and especially with the target audience being more in the younger field and tech savvy he did an excellent job of choosing vibrant and contrasty colors that are proven to work well with each other! You could have atleast done the less vibrant logo version yourself and post a link here, so we could see both versions against each other :)
One request. We are a startup company by the name “Yumbi Infra” where the term “Yumbi” stands for column or a foundation of a structure. Can you please please design a simple logo for our company. Maybe an hour of your time on this would be amazing. Maybe in your next video?

Yes but then he couldn't measure the space between the letters. Also, the top line of the F is not the same weight as the rest of the letter. Optical balance is more important than consistent line weight and you can modify it easier with shapes rather then strokes.
@@winnetouch You make a fair point - but I still don't get why it's 'easier' when you can just select a different stroke weight for the top line for example? You can also expand the strokes and adjust afterwards. You can change the thickness in a few seconds instead of adjusting the outline of each character and try to match it? I'm not trying to be awkward if it comes across that way, I just can't wrap my head around it.
@@kb360 If the strokes are connected you can't adjust just one part of the stroke. You either ave to have hem disconnected or the weight will be the same on all connected strokes. Also, it's easier to edit the ends of the lines. Stokes by default do not have sloped edges, like he used. You could make a custom stroke but then you open up a whole new can of worms. EDIT: No worries, I love talking shop because at the end of the day, you could prove me wrong and I learn something 😅.

I did it, but there comes some changes after some days Basically branding is not a one day thing, because creating someone's brand and it needs to be done with a lot of care and proper research and lot more
I love the process and the final result! However, I don't know if the star detail was the best idea for the logo. I've noticed that a lot of companies that sell AI services or at least integrate AI into them use a 4 pointed star to symbolize AI. Canva uses it, Google's Gemini, Notion's AI writer... And since this is a portfolio service that is trying to sell the safety from AI scanning for their users it seems like a contradiction to me? Of course, this would most likely have been different with more time to do proper research. A perfect logo can't happen in just under 8 hours LOL (you said it yourself: it can be done right or done right now). It doesn't take away from the beautiful result, though! Amazing work, Will! 🤩Love your videos😊
The what not to do list - so much truth. "But that neon outline looks cool!" Sure, just that your brand looks outdated and not appealing to young buyers now.
