Sorry guys, the title was wrong at first, this one is called the Master Flow not the Max Flow and here is a Amazon affiliate link if you want to get one: amzn.to/2mLvKul
BleepinJeep I think that filter has the same thread size as the viair compressor. I have that same masterflow compressor and have used it to seat the bead on truck(285/75/16) and trailer tires. This compressor inflates faster than the viair constant duty and quarter duty compressors.
I just bought one of these and I must say that watching this video about 3 months ago is why I bought it. Its an awesome compressor and works great for me. Thanks for this "REAL" review. Its spot on ......very refreshing. thanks again
I love mine! After one yr of airing up a 32" tire from 15 to 37 psi 4-6 times a month for a yr my pump failed. I contacted the company directly. They replied with either I could send it in or if I felt comfortable I can open it up and inspect the valves. I replied with a picture and they replied with a shipping confirmation for a free valve replacement. That was 4 yrs ago and still running strong. I thought I would have replaced it by now but it's a great pump.
I BOUGHT ONE SEVERAL YEARS BACK, A REFURBISHED FROM EBAY $48.99 IT REALLY DOES HOLD UP! ONE BIG CON>THE YELLOW PLASTIC HOSE BROKE THE FIRST TIME I USED IT ON COLD DAY. A TRIP TO AUTO PARTS STORE AND GOT 12' RUBBER GAS HOSE. IT HAS BEEN A ROCK STAR EVER SINCE! WELL WORTH THE MONEY. THE BAG ON MY OLD ONE IS EXCELLENT QUALITY, IT HAS BEEN PUT THROUGH PACES, STILL STRONG.
Good accurate review. I bought one of these also at pep boys for $65 or so. Had mine for about 12 years now and works great still. My air hose got brittle and cracked a couple years ago. Been great! Also- my bag fell apart but it fits perfectly in an ammo can now!
viair 88p is awesome ! i have used one for 5 years so far. i used mine for 2 years and then ran it over with a chevy k10 on 35" tires, here we are 3 years later and it still works as new but only the plastic handle is broken in many places
I am very happy with my viair 88p. Pretty quiet and quick to fill my 33s. Then the 88p went on sale in December for $45 on Amazon. I picked up several more for gifts and a spare.
Go to a semi truck repair shop they usually have spare air tanks that they get rid of for scrap metal. I got me a 10gallon tank for free. Make a bracket to attach it to the inside of the frame, put the compressor in the bed of the truck inside a tool box if u dont have a bed cover, or if u have space bolt in close to your battery. I spent $100 on the compressor, attachments & wiring. Works great for air tools & to air up my 35" tires!
These are a great cheap solution. I bought one last winter after I had a flat at work. Kept in the Cherokee full time and have used it quite a bit. 30x9.5 15(baby tires I know) go from 0 to 32 in 2 min 15or30 seconds. Used for river tubes, quad tires, truck and car tires and has yet to let me down. I was going to mount it and plumb up the Cherokee but it’s small and convenient enough to have it floating in the back ready to grab and take to a buddy’s rig if needed.
Great video but Title is misleading. I consider this a portable air compressor not onboard air. To me onboard air is mounted or plumbed in the vehicle.
Brandon Arent I agree I thought I would see something mounted in the vehicle. 8 bucks for harbor freight, or jump box with air is a better option gives more options and abilities
Agreed, I HAVE seen two of these plumbed together and used in an onboard air system with a tank and it was pretty impressive for less than $200 invested...
I appreciate this video. I don't know why so many people think there's only one way to do something or one way to say something. Some of these comments are asinine.
It's a cheap great handy tool. It doesn't matter if is on off in out or in the muffler, does the work. About the filter, let it break then modify it, install any other filter, will work anyway. By the way you can modify it with a fire extinguisher tank. Remember you can modify and build anything. Keep going, great ideas, good videos. Thanks👍👍👍🇵🇷🇵🇷

I've been carrying a similar solution I found in one of the Germany based supermarkets here. This one uses a lighter connector, but other than that it's the same thing. It's been working nicely for 4 years now.
I wish I would have known about this a while back. 2 years ago I needed a compressor because I was going to go wheeling. I was on a low budget and didn't have time to wait for something to be shipped to my door. So I went to Walmart and paid 60 bucks for a cheap plastic compressor made by Slime. It still works to this day. But it's beat up. Most of the plastic is broke. It airs a 33 inch tires up really slow and will not exceed 30 psi. Worked fine for airing up air mattresses. It was better than nothing. Knowing that there are better compressors out there for around the same price is pretty cool. I'm looking into getting a viair. I want something better built and more reliable.
if you had a small air tank 2-8 gallons on the vehicle and arent in a rush this can be used to run an impact or die grinder on the trail.. vary intermittently obviously youll be waiting for more pressure constantly but its a cheap chose which is easily upgradeable/replaceable even if hard wired into the vehicle with tank
I've had the same one for years... it's the best bang for the buck and surprisingly fast inflating. I keep my set of tire deflators in the carrying bag as well. Can also be mounted in the engine bay.
I was just looking at these type of air compressors today. They were super pricey from $500 plus for the ARB systems to about $75 for smaller compressors in this range. Thanks for the review as it gives me a starting point.
+Chas Gordon this one is good at $50 use it and if you do not like it return it it is 12v and 120v www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-12-Volt-Car-Air-Inflator/1000092575
Years ago I bought an air compressor that came in a bag just like that. It was called Slime and the air hose was green instead of red. I only used it a few times, and once was last year. It burned up within a few minutes of use. It still looked brand new. I always turned it on after plugging it in to the valve stem so I guess that might have been a contributing factor.
Nice review- thank you. My Harbor freight air pump is getting tired, and was thinking of upgrading. Will definitely scope this one out. You may have already heard this, but I found a metal ammo box from the local Army/Navy store, and keep my compressor in that. Rugged, weather tight and I can throw a few more small tools in with it.
I have the same pump. Been awesome for larger truck tires. Especially when off-roading. Going to hard mount it to the truck bed or engine bay soon! Just have to run wires but it will be a faster setup.
Looks identical to my Superflow MV50 from O'reillys. The rubber insulator on the air hose gets really squishy when its hot. Its easy to burn your fingers unhooking the hose right after use. I always let my compressor sit on the tailgate a minute or so before unhooking the air hose and putting the unit back in the bag. Superflow also makes a MV80 which is (2) MV50 units hooked together.
I run and own a boat/powersports shop and run a service truck. Ive owned the same compressor for 5 years wore the bag out and I use it all the time for boat trailers! Im going to guess Ive put 20/30 hrs on it easy and Ive never started it first threw the air filter away and never start truck. lots times i run it off a used seadoo 16a amp battery. The cheep cigarette plug ones are junk because they are diaphragm pumps this one is a piston pump
I was excited to hear how to convert a portable air compressor to onboard air... This is just an air compressor review. Appreciate the review, but not the definition I'm used to seeing associated to onboard air.
Good review, always like watching your videos! I’ve got the bigger single piston arb for my lockers and as a back up to my a/c converted air compressor. A/c is about 3-4 times quicker than the little arb.
I've never had an issue with: 1. leaving the filter screwed in. 2. starting the compressor after attaching the hose to the valve stem. 3. The gauge is much more accurate after you turn the compressor off. While pumping it will read higher.
I've had mine for about three years now. I've left the air cleaner in it since the day I got it. I tumbles around in the back of my rig all the time. The only issues I have are where the power cord pulled out of the little grommet on the back.
Thanks. Got mine and like it. Wish I didn’t waste $40 on a vair cigarette plug unit that failed immediately. And glad I didn’t have to spend $90-120 for a similar unit
I have used one of these for almost 10 years. My most humorous moment was when a friend had a Warn Powerplant - Insanely expensive. My little $50 (back then) Tsunami filled my 35x12.50r15's from 12 psi to 30 psi faster than his Powerplant filled his 32 inch Rubicon pizza cutters.
Cons : if it bounces around in the back of your jeep the air outlet can break very easily as it did with mine rendering it usless.. And you have to remove air filter as you said. I watched this vid and purchased one, wish I hadn't.
it looks bigger & tuffer than the harbor freight one but still 150 psi.Ihave a jump start pack w/ a 250 psi inflator & it strugles to air up my standard cargo van tires, so maybe the psi isn't so; you know, ya know? your link is sold out but i found another one for 70. i might try it.
They way I used to air my tire up fast was to use my hi lift jack to lift up a corner to take the weight off the tire cause I had a cheap walmart lighter plug in one so I would use the hi lift jack to take the vehicle weight off that tire and use my pump it helped to air my tire up faster and not overheat my pump.
IN a bag that has to be alligator clipped to the battery is not on board air. It is liking saying if you have a battery booster in the tool box that you have on board auxiliary power source.
do you think this could be connected a tank? been thinking about hooking up a budget air tank setup in the back of my Cherokee for airing up and to run an air gun if needed
It wouldn't be hard. 10 gauge power with fuse to the positive, and a ground wire to the negative. You might be able to wire a rocker switch to it as well. I thought about getting one, but ended up getting the ARB single stage.
whats everyones opinion on using a regular 8 gallon shop compressor if theres already a 3000watt inverter installed? my only concern is the noise but i guess all except the new "quiet compressors" everyone is lauching will be loud 12v or 120v wont change that
I've had the same one for almost 2 years. Definitely not the fastest but gets the job done. The bag is ripped up and the cord is frayed where is goes in the compressor.
Stewart Stevenson engineered tire inflation/deflation from the driver's seat, on a truck where air conditioning was omitted for cost. How hard could that be to bring to civilian market?
+RedWhite&blue WHICH Kobalt? they have a 12volt only and then a 12v/120v model www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-12-Volt-Car-Air-Inflator/1000092575 that has been great use it on 4 cars love the fact that it is 12v and 120v I took mine apart and it had two motors and two pumps inside with a digital gauge that has been accurate use it to keep E-ply tires at 80psi and camper tires at 60psi with no issues had it for 5 or 6 year only issues was broke the 12v adapter my fault and easy fix
+RedWhite&Blue do you have the new shape or the old rectangle design ? do you have the problem using both voltages ? on 12 volt do you leave the car running when the compressor is on ? I do not know what to say mine has been great you could have a dud I guess. Also I do wonder if the new model also has 2 motors and with a pump each inside
Please tell me I'm not too late to the party!! Are these still available and good units? You failed to mention 2 awesome abilities of this pump, I believe.... #1, You can read the tire pressure while filling. #2 You screw the air chuck onto the valve stem, without the need to exert unavailable force at the end of a long trail ride!! If anyone has recently purchased on of these, please let me know if they are as good as they look, and still available post covid apocalypses...
Great info, and awesome compressor for the $$$ .... question though.... if a guy wanted a similar setup that would run air tools, what would be the compressor to get? .... Thanks Tyler 😃
You could hook this one up to a tank and run tools. I think someone mentioned in the comments below, but you could double up two of these with a tank and probably run all the air tools you'd ever need on the trail.
Just because it doesn't come mounted, means it isn't onboard air?! Come on, these are great compressors, and flow a full 2 cfm. I've had one mounted in the engine bay (plus custom plumbing, of course) on my TJ for 5 years.
Looks like a good set up to have to carry between vehicles for road trips. IE wife's car/tow rig. But for a dedicated trail rig. You can't beat a permanent York set up or a tank. I think my York is 9cfm. I can fill a 40" tire from flat in about a min. at idle.
he original version had a Japanese JIC air fitting. I own 3 of these pumps. One of the $5 (in sale) bags from Harbor Freight works well to carry the pump and accessories.
Any one use this in below freezing temperatures. I wanted to convert the '80 Powerwagon to on board air, using an old York AC compressor. But it's a non AC truck, and it would be a bitch to find all the right pulleys and brackets. We often see below -30C/-22F. Or above +30C/86F. Wondering how it works in different temps.
It's not really "on board air" as the title suggests. It's more of portable air.. On board would be hard mounting it to the vehicle.. But good review of the compressor.. 👍🏻
hey I do not know about that one but I have the earlier model of this Kobalt one $50 and it has been great. The digital gauge in this has been accurate and it will run on 12v or 120v and it has had no problem inflating the E-ply tires on the truck to 80 psi on either the 12 or 120 volt. Turns out it has two motors and two pumps inside the thing and I assume the new version is the same and the reviews on the new one are still great at lowes www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-12-Volt-Car-Air-Inflator/1000092575
The title is incorrect. It says MaxFlow; but, it should be Master Flow. Any ways, this gave me an idea to adding to BleepinJeep's Product line. I checked out Alibaba dot com and found similar air compressors between 10 and 17 dollars. Some with blowmold cases and even junky tools too. Others with bags or no bags. Many of them with 40 minute duty cycles. Might want to consider something like that. Test it out. Put your name on it. Sell it.
Sorry guys, the title was wrong at first, this one is called the Master Flow not the Max Flow and here is a Amazon affiliate link if you want to get one: amzn.to/2mLvKul

Appears to no longer be available... bummer
@@chrluc 90 bucks at Walmart.

I air up my 36" swampers no problem.
What's that one called, Harbor Freight is across the street from my work
R D it’s the 150 psi portable Pittsburg model sir
Good accurate review. I bought one of these also at pep boys for $65 or so. Had mine for about 12 years now and works great still. My air hose got brittle and cracked a couple years ago. Been great! Also- my bag fell apart but it fits perfectly in an ammo can now!
I have the Viair 88p with a pretty high duty cycle and I payed $88. Been great so far and you typically can't go wrong with Viair
James Ouellette I just picked mine up for Christmas for $62. Pretty happy with it as well.
viair 88p is awesome ! i have used one for 5 years so far. i used mine for 2 years and then ran it over with a chevy k10 on 35" tires, here we are 3 years later and it still works as new but only the plastic handle is broken in many places

So it's on board and off board air.... you're complaining why?
Brandon Arent but the thumbnail gave it away.... We knew what we were clicking on
Smart move to run engine to avoid dead battery. Great video. I use a digital gauge that's somewhat expensive however it's very accurate

I got this compressor for like 10 years lr more i bougt in a Pep Boys. Awesome to have it
That's pretty slick, I've always wondered about that air compressor. I think I will get one for my Jeep for the trail too. Thanks, great review!
Bought mine in March on eBay for 51$ . Money well spent. Keep mine in an old beat up IGLOO Playmate cooler.
I've been trying to decide between this and the Vlair. I might just grab this one now. Nice video, thanks.
That's harbor freight's twin. Great little compressor.
I have the same pump it works great . You can buy universal air cleaners that works on Motorcycles for 3 to 4 dollars each and they work great ..
I run and own a boat/powersports shop and run a service truck. Ive owned the same compressor for 5 years wore the bag out and I use it all the time for boat trailers! Great review, Tyler. I've had two of these. First one was stolen, and I liked it so much a bought another one. Simple and cheap.
I've never had an issue with:
1. leaving the filter screwed in.
2. starting the compressor after attaching the hose to the valve stem.
3. The gauge is much more accurate after you turn the compressor off. While pumping it will read higher.
Excellent video and a really good review showing the pros/cons. Stay safe out there on the trails. Scott
Thanks Scott!

great video. bought one at pep boys today and it works perfectly. thanks for the tip
i use the ac compressor on te 4l xj it works great for pumping upp the tyres
Nice review and for $60 it seems well worth it. Thanks.
Thanks for the video. Love my York 210. Never leave home without it....lol
i like how they put a sticker on the gauge that says "this gauge is not accurate" rather then spending an extra 2 bucks on a better gauge 😂
Cons : if it bounces around in the back of your jeep the air outlet can break very easily as it did with mine rendering it usless.. And you have to remove air filter as you said. I watched this vid and purchased one, wish I hadn't.

I have the same one.. but my bag is just black.. no text. works great..
I have one of these. I had to replace the power cord because the original one worked lose and shorted. Other then that, its OK.
that air filter is the same as like 29 or 30 gallon compressors. but they are metal. would be great Upgrade
I got one too! Works great on Toyota 4runners too! :)
I have the same compressor. Did one of my first review videos on this. Great compressor. It gets really warm though.
I have one of those and it works great!
Good review
IN a bag that has to be alligator clipped to the battery is not on board air. It is liking saying if you have a battery booster in the tool box that you have on board auxiliary power source.
Does it reach to all the tires while connected to the battery?
Yes it does I been having one for about 6 years now, and the bag is cheap, but it easily all fits in a Wide 50 cal ammo can.
What's the Amperage draw on that? Could you mount this underhood, and run it on a switched relay with a fuse?
do you think this could be connected a tank? been thinking about hooking up a budget air tank setup in the back of my Cherokee for airing up and to run an air gun if needed
Great video thanks

Have you ever used this in cold weather? I'm wondering if it will work in single digits temps? My kid needs something in northern Wisconsin.
Keep it in the heated area.
Get a 20lb co2 same size for a soda fountain machine and 200psi regulator.. run air tools and fill tires!
That's some MacGyver stuff. Great ideer.
Tanks are cool, but they do run out I actually run the Harbor Freight model and I carry a tank.
I want to know about that "Air Dragon" thing, but this is a worth while review.
Would you recommend permanently wiring this up in your rig maybe with a breaker?
I think it would be a good choice to wire up directly. I'd want to plump in a small air tank with it too, but's that up to you.
It wouldn't be hard. 10 gauge power with fuse to the positive, and a ground wire to the negative. You might be able to wire a rocker switch to it as well. I thought about getting one, but ended up getting the ARB single stage.
I have the same one. It works great, paid $55.88 at Pepboys.

I've had the same one for almost 2 years. Definitely not the fastest but gets the job done. The bag is ripped up and the cord is frayed where is goes in the compressor.
Good honest vid thx!
Good review sir 👍
Stewart Stevenson engineered tire inflation/deflation from the driver's seat, on a truck where air conditioning was omitted for cost. How hard could that be to bring to civilian market?
hard
I could see permanently installing one of these inside the right rear quarter panel of my XJ.
hey, now there's a great idea!
Mark Soldan that's exactly what i did with my viair compressor, my tank is where the factory spare. My set up works great
I wish I knew about this 2 years ago... I bought a kobalt from Lowe's... It sucks, it had to cool down longer than it ran.
+RedWhite&blue WHICH Kobalt? they have a 12volt only and then a 12v/120v model www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-12-Volt-Car-Air-Inflator/1000092575 that has been great use it on 4 cars love the fact that it is 12v and 120v I took mine apart and it had two motors and two pumps inside with a digital gauge that has been accurate use it to keep E-ply tires at 80psi and camper tires at 60psi with no issues had it for 5 or 6 year only issues was broke the 12v adapter my fault and easy fix
marble head... it's the one with both...
I can fill a 40" tire from flat in about a min. at idle.
How about a video on indexing the distributor?
Interesting, the equivelent unit available in Australia will set you back about $90 AUD.
How many cfm's does it flow?
Looks just like the one from harbor frieght. Like identical. Price too.
Nice
he original version had a Japanese JIC air fitting. I own 3 of these pumps.
One of the $5 (in sale) bags from Harbor Freight works well to carry the pump and accessories.
Thought you were going to mount it under the hood
Please please please next time you do a review of something you really like say "this thing so great it'll knock your visor off" ......please
Is this onboard or portable ?
1/4 npt thread
Any idea on what size thread needed to convert to 1/4 NPT?
Any one use this in below freezing temperatures. I wanted to convert the '80 Powerwagon to on board air, using an old York AC compressor. But it's a non AC truck, and it would be a bitch to find all the right pulleys and brackets. We often see below -30C/-22F. Or above +30C/86F. Wondering how it works in different temps.
Youve gotta look up masterflow not max flow i made that mistake because thats the title of the video
Here is the link, thanks: amzn.to/2mLvKul
The bag looks a lot like the one that comes with the Viair I got.
By this videos standards my F150 has on-board air :)
It's not really "on board air" as the title suggests. It's more of portable air.. On board would be hard mounting it to the vehicle.. But good review of the compressor.. 👍🏻
I went with a Puma air compressor from eBay, about 5 times faster than my previous compressor, which was basically like this one in the video!
So... that woman at the beginning of the video! 😎
she's friggin hot!
I'm not trying to kick the product your talking about. but i have always tok the compressors off of Cadillac and Lincoln cars.
I have one of those since 1992, They say hind sights 20/20...
Hearing people are paying 550 plus mounting brackets for the ARB is way overpriced.
hey I do not know about that one but I have the earlier model of this Kobalt one $50 and it has been great.
Fire
thank you and please be kind to Land Rover People : )
Yes they always have cheese snacks and a very good selection of red

Nice thing about computer enhanced videos you notice he goes from sitting to running out of the frame like he said it takes 20 minutes
That girl in the intro is your daughter?
The title is incorrect. It says MaxFlow; but, it should be Master Flow. Any ways, this gave me an idea to adding to BleepinJeep's Product line. I checked out Alibaba dot com and found similar air compressors between 10 and 17 dollars. Some with blowmold cases and even junky tools too. Others with bags or no bags. Many of them with 40 minute duty cycles. Might want to consider something like that. Test it out. Put your name on it. Sell it.
Wow! You fixed the title fast.
This is not about an onboard air setup. It is about a portable air compressor.
