Once charged the Excalibur I battery should be putting out 14.4volts and will stop working when it runs down to 11.4 volts and then requires charging again.
It is also a good idea to completely drain the battery at least once a year. I made up a fitting with a light globe and leave it on overnight then recharge from their.
Thank you for your info. I’ll have to see if those replacement batteries are available in Australia. GLHH.

Thanks Relic for the kind words. Yes I agree, do discharge the battery at least once a year, and as far as being able to get the battery pack replacement in Australia, Maxxpacks is a Canadian company and ships to the US, so getting one to you should be not much of a problem.

GREAT. Did you have any problems, or was my video enough information that stepped you thru the replacement steps? Also my experience with Maxipacks was great, how was yours.?

Good morning Peter. The model number for the battery replacement is 1610MES. Here is a link to the actual page - maxxpacks.com/collections/minelab-batteries If this link does not work, just copy and paste. Also as explained in my video, this battery fits very tightly, so get to your NAPA store a get a tube of their Dielectric Silicone Compound, item # 365-1190, and put a small amount on the three "corners" of the battery pack. This dielectric grease also great for keeping the connections between the battery and battery plug greased up which helps prevent corrosion on our connectors. Also Maxxpacks has a GREAT charger for our Excals, Model #CH710. This charger has a LED light that changes from red to green when charged. Helps prevent over charging, although there is build in overcharging protection in this charger. Only $20 Happy hunting.
