    Plenty of small time 10 wheel dump truckers around your area, couple loads of cinders take care of all your needs brother.

    A comment for the youtube algorithm. That Juniper is probably older than your great, great Grandpa. Why cut it down? This "water tank" can be put wherever and a few wall blocks and sand will build an awesome elevated stand. But I guess "IT is what it is"

    • @anandrew6641
      @anandrew6641 2 дня назад +1

      Juniper is invasive in some areas, and a huge water hog, beating out all plants all around it. In Arizona it's ideal if you can take out the juniper and plant pine.

    How about a load of dirt leveled 2 feet high

  • @billdavidson4424
    @billdavidson4424 День назад

    The water will only freeze on the surface of the tank inside. So if your intake is off the bottom it won't freeze up.

  • @billdavidson4424

    Put a pump permanently in your battery compartment and it won't freeze.

  • @bonedust68

    To avoid having to rely on a working pump, and embrace gravity, you could easily build a platform 2-3 ft high, just using cinder blocks dry layed to support a floor maybe in combination with reinforced pallets.. I built an off grid house this way..without mortar .. but surface bonding a perimeter wall instead of joining with mortar as it saves time.. Ask ahead to see if they can bring a longer hose attachment to reach your tank without issue.. I had this done years ago, when I had my tank 100' above my cabin on a hill, he had 200 ft of hose.. Or you could buy instead..

    Use retaining wall blocks from the home store and build it as high as you need, you already have all of the free sand around to fill it in. That’d be much cheaper than timber.

    Whatever you do you should build a 2ft x 2ft x 2ft wooden box around the tank valve and fill it with insulation to protect it from freezing. Put some 1/4 inch wire hardware cloth screen on the ground nailed to the box bottom the keep mice and rats out. That will help protect the valve from rodents amd keep them from nexting in the box. Make sure the box fits up tight against the tank you might have to cut a slight curve at the top to conform to the tank.
    You might also run 2 inch pcv pipe underground over to the RV. You could put a drinking water safe hose inside of it so that you can fill the RV tank with the hose. This will protect the hose from freezing and you don't have to worry about it being run over.
    A couple options for placing your 1000 gallon tank.
    Oprion 1. Set the tank directly on the ground. As long as the water level in the top of the tank is higher than the RV tank inlet it will gravity feed to fill the trailer tank. You will only need a pump for the bottom portion of the tank that's lower than the RV tank inlet connection.
    Option 2. Build a sandbox structure a little bit larger than the 1000 gallon tank you're going to set in place and back fill it with sand, which you already have plenty of. Make sure you place it partially into the ground so that it will help keep the sand from spreading under the weight of the tank. You can make the box as high as you need to bring valve on the tank above the RV inlet.

    You best be ready to start gingering your water with cl2 or sodium hypochloride to stop the algae. Especially with standing in the sun. Your water supply dudes will have what you need. Also a tester would be a great advantage. Something you can sell the services from. Say 50 a test. You will rash out if too high and the same if too low. A free residual of 1.00 is recommended to say 1.40for general use
    Have fun and stay healthy

    Invest in a heavier duty chain saw or rent one from Home Depot (if available) to trim up what you need to create trees instead of bushes. Build a concrete slab to set your tank on if you are worried about sprouts coming thru bottom. What about setting the water tank in the clearing up on the hill past the solar panels, wouldn't that be higher ground ?

    I've concluded that nobody can live off grid without basic mechanical and building skills. With that being said it don't take a rocket scientist to build a solid of the ground platform for a thousand-gallon tank. You have property invest in tools and equipment to get the jobs you want done.

    I wonder if a small truckload of crushed rock would work to put the tank on. Build a mound, couple of sheets of plywood or something on top to keep it level? You could even build a pen with that wood to dump the rock in. Maybe that's not a good idea, just thinking of possibilities.

    We used cement blocks stacked 2 high but did that for our 250 gallon ones, the 1500gallon one is on ground but its a 3 ft drop to the garden. Thats a smoking good deal on your cistern Mike🏆👍we just bought 2 more totes and so have 2500gallons now, but a 1000gallon would finish it all off. (Other side of the house roof. The 4 totes are set up on garage) We r coming back to AZ, hubby hopes to meet you😍, we bought a 30 gallon water bladder for the rv, it works pretty good. We dont stay too long in one place as there is too many places to see♥️

It wouldn't be cheap however it would fulfill all your strength needs and elevation. Put at least 4 # 5 bars along the sides 2 in the footing and 2 in the 2' part that will be perfect for your application!

    I'm planning on getting at least one Conex to use for storage/workshop space. I figure I'll put my water tank, pressure tank, and pump in the end of the container and plumb inlet and outlet of the water tank through the wall. I could then put up a wall with door to seal that stuff into the very end of the container then I can insulate and put in a space heater set to come on if it ever drops below 35 degrees. A 40' Conex looks to be around $4k, less than what you'd spend on a large storage shed.
