+Socratica What is meant by 'fairest wights' in line 2? Because my English teacher asked me and I could not answer his question because I only memorized the sonnet and not the actual analysis. I thought that wights were mythical undead creatures but this does not fit in the image of this sonnet.
"Wight (1): a person of a specified kind."
"Wight (2): a spirit, ghost, or other supernatural being."
You're thinking of the second sense, but Shakespeare's using the first one here.

Line 14 is incorrect. It should have been 'Have eyes to wonder' instead of 'Had eyes to wonder'.
Hassan Aljaifri That's the tricky thing about Shakespeare - it depends on which source you refer to - there are different versions floating around out there. In this case, some say "Have," some say "Had." Thank you for watching!
