  • I'm ecstatic to share my passion (or one of them) based on a decision to start taking piano lessons again in 2024. After a 30-year break from playing, this has been one of the most inspirational self-tasks I have assigned to my brain and being. Started out slow in February of last year as my finger muscles had weakened, obviously, over time, but here's where it is today!
This "project" allows me to real-ize in real-time the importance of revisiting that which brings us joy and a sense of success/accomplishment. In my husband's case, it's hockey; in your case, it may be art, or music, or writing. But always ALWAYS follow your passion! And keep in mind that all passions start with a strong foundation... and that, in and of itself, takes time and patience.
This particular piece was super challenging and yet, so enthralling to learn, memorize and continually increase in speed. I legit watch it and think, "Is that me playing?" LOL.
It's not perfect, but after months of consistent work, here it is! Debussy's Doctor Gradus... I hope you enjoy, classical (impressionist) music fanatic or not. "Perfect," FYI, is not necessary; it's about self-expression and having FUN!!
