My daughter is called Dominique because of Ayn Rand and my son Victor because of Victor Hugo. I had the thrill of seeing her at Ford Hall Forum when my husband was studying at M.I.T.
When every new adult on this planet begins their productive life immersed in the principles developed by Ayn Rand and her legatees we may see the end of war, criminality, under-achievement and substance abuse such that _Homo sapiens_ will embark on its true course which is making scientific sense of the Cosmos. We will not overcome death, and why would we try: old age is embarrassing to say the least. Leaving a legacy will be the main motive, purpose of each life. Salute and a big smile to all well-wishers.
You mean get back the money that was taken from her by the government, and at a much smaller amount than what was taken? Sure. That's 100 percent moral, especially for people who already spoke out against such organized theft.
@@ominousparallel3854 Yes the social security she said she would never take... lolz: she paid her taxes so her philosophy goes out the window - its ok she didn't live up to her ideal. Or her rhetoric?
@@ominousparallel3854 "She didn’t say exactly that she wouldn’t take Social Security" is one of the weakest defenses you could make. Why? Because her entire philosophy-everything she stood for-was built on the idea that government aid is theft and that true individuals reject it. She spent decades condemning these programs and the people who relied on them. You don’t need her to have said the exact words "I will never take Social Security" because her books, essays, and speeches already made it clear that doing so would be immoral in her view. Saying "she never said those exact words" is just a cheap way to ignore reality. It’s not an argument-it’s denial. If you’re defending her without understanding what she actually believed, then you’re not defending Ayn Rand-you’re defending your own ignorance.

Collectivism: The tribe, the herd, the society, other men, or a dictator.
Side note: Ayn Rand had such an amazing command of English. It’s especially impressive that it was her second language. I’m still working on my first.
At 56:20, it may be "an immoral action," not "any moral action."
Thank you for catching this, and we will correct it right away.
Should it be letter No.591 instead of 596, the very end of the last chapter 10?
The waffling ceases at 24:23 for the primary content.
Ayn Rand, a great brain.
( After Bruce Wayne, sure).
Awesome. If she were alive she would have been collecting her social security for 60 years. 🎉❤

You mean the social security financed by her taxes she was forced to pay her entire life?
@@ominousparallel3854 Yes the social security she said she would never take... lolz: she paid her taxes so her philosophy goes out the window - its ok she didn't live up to her ideal. Or her rhetoric?
@ give me an exact quote right now where she said she would never take it. Good luck.
