    This song really was the ‘bohemian rhapsody’ of gen y, all of us at the turning of age into adulthood going through mental trouble, it truly was and still is an anthem.
    much like Mr Brightside is the Wonderwall (oasis) of our gen too 😂

    The album was telling a story though every song (a bloke dying of cancer and remembering life). Is that the definition of a concept album?..... The lady in the gasmask was "Mother War" and her two companions, flanking the "dead guy" when he was awarded the medal, were "Grief" and "Misery". Did you read the sign they were holding? - "Starved to death in a land of plenty" 5:49 . The drummer was the shyest guy in the band! ..... Another great song from this album was "Famous Last Words" - positive despite the title! I've mentioned "Helena" (from a prior album) before too. The band "Taking Back Sunday" supported them on one tour - some great songs from them too e.g. "What's It Feel Like To Be A Ghost?" "Liar (It Takes One To Know One)" and "My Blue Heaven". (Edit: Brit Pops 1 - Happy Birthday for yesterday!)

      That is some very impressive knowledge and info right there.
      Good thing we didn't try and give our take on that video with all your knowledge, we would have look like a right couple of idiots (no change there then)
      You sure know your bands, we are not sure how these passed us by, but it was OK.
      Not sure if we will go on a ride with these, we sort of find bands to do one off's to try other styles and find ones we completely missed.
      Thanks for the Birthday greetings, you made his little face light up!!!

    The Black Parade is a rock opera centering around the character of "The Patient". It is about his passage out of life and the memories he has of it. "The Patient" dies and death comes for him in the form of a parade. This is based on singer Gerard Way's notion of death appearing to a person in the form of their fondest memory, in this case seeing a marching band as a child.

    My Chemical Romance was a regular opening act for Green Day on the American Idiot tour, and while MCR’s previous album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, was also a concept album, its story is not as well portrayed. The Black Parade album absolutely takes influence from Green Day in the ability to convey the story they want to tell.

    Funny you said Queen. I always thought they were british. Was surprised, when you said they are from the states. I was kind of aware of My Chemical Romance, but never dug deep into them. I think this one may be the only one i rly know of them. Voicewise and a little musicwise i am reminded of Smashing Pumpkins. Maybe not so much because they are alike more like the mood of the song. I think it may be 1979, the song i am thinking of. May edit this later after I have done my research xd Hm. I might have thought about "Tonight, Tonight" but apperantly my mind played tricks on me. They are not rly close. Well, just shows the my brain is not that trustworthy xd As I wanted to give my scores, too. My score is 6/10.

      @Chris Cross
      @Kevin Bridge
      That's exactly where we were hearing the Queen influence on the Brian May style guitar.
      These completely missed us two and we were curious as to what they were about.
      Also Smashing Pumpkins, they could be someone we have heard and would recognise a song if it came on, but nothing springs to mind in the dusty memory bank.
      You went with a 6, that a fair scoring system you have going there too.

      The what now? If you're saying MCR isn't influenced by Queen, they've specifically cited them as a key forerunner. If you're saying Queen doesn't share elements with MCR, Brian May disagrees.
      The Blink 182 comparison is very apt. This song in particular has a lot of the sounds of that era and bands of that ilk. I like that style, personally, but whether you find it a pro or a con, the statement is undeniably true.

      Thank you for this comment too, ahh well sorry but that's what we tend to do here, if we find them sounding similar or reminding us of someone else, then we say what we think.
      If we had not mentioned that they sounded like Queen, then we would have got comments telling us that Bryan May played on the song and they are huge fans.
      So we were correct and it's sort of what we do to add some information to our reactions and not just jump off our chairs.

      I'm... not sure what you could possibly suggest as an alternative? Everybody compares musical acts to other musical acts. What else could you use that would make any sense?
      Also, they are paying attention? Hence the ability to make the comparisons? It's cool to make suggestions, but if you want people to act on them, they have to be actionable. Is there something particular you want them to pay more attention to?
