My sweet 91 year old mother is enjoying your video at the moment. She lived quite a long period of her life in Sintra before departing to the Netherlands where we live at the moment. My sister was born in the pink building next to the Palacio da Vila. It was an hospital at the time. She's very proud about that. My sister tells this to everyone who wants to know about it and even whomever do not what to know about it 😅😂

Thanks for reminding us of the absolutely gorgeousness of Sintra. My 1st time to Sintra & Pena Palace, was a long, long x ago. I was 5 years old. My parents decided it was a good idea and aid to digestion (after our lunch) to walk from the train station all the way thru the mountain, thru the meandering trails. We got lost, and it took us 3 hours of beautiful, but exausting meandering before we got to the top, thanks to a local gentleman that helped us get on track. We nearly missed the Palace's last guided tour of the day. Hardly anybody around back then, even for a Sunday. It was all pretty much all to ourself. Never forgot the experience, and Sintra stays forever in my ❤️. It's one of 🇵🇹 gems, with so much to see and explore. Great work POV! 😘❤️🇵🇹❤️

Silva! 😊😊 Haha your parents had a great idea, the best way to immerse yourself in the magical atmosphere of Sintra is to walk up the mountain to Moors Castle and/or Pena Palace. 😀 The good old days when Sintra was a quiet town...It was temporarily quiet again during the pandemic, but now it's back to "normal". I still love Sintra though, and my video doesn't do it justice. It's so much better in person. 😊 Thank you for your lovely comment!

I traveled a lot, only inside Portugal and Spain tho, but Sintra is my favorite place in the whole Iberian Peninsula. The word may be overused but it's indeed magical, only way to feel it it's to go there a day or two. It's a bit too crowded with tourists during the Summer and things are a bit overpriced but still worth it by far.

Sintra es una verdadera joya por su magia, su belleza, sus calles intrincadísimas ,sus lugares icónicos. Yo estuve pero este lugar es inacabable y solo concí por dentro el Palacio da Pena, comí de las queijadas ,cené en un lugar precioso . Pero quedé con ganas de conocer la Quinta das Regadeiras y el Palacio Real o sea que me quedó mucho para conocer y tambien reconozco que en un video no se puede poner todo. Es demasiado pero es un lugar que vale el esfuerzo y ahora no puedo hacer esa viaje otra vez, o sea que les pido un nuevo video, cuando se pueda. Los hacen muy especiales, da la sensación de estar "ahi".Gracias!!!
Te recomendo el video Palaces and Gardens of Sintra-Portugal, que acabé de conocer y que, complementando este, me parece el mejor que he visto sobre Sintra (por lo menos visualmente). Cubre el Palacio da Pena, la Regaleira y su pozo iniciático, Monserrate, el castillo de los Moros, la preciosa vegetación de la sierra y un poco más lejos el Palacio de Queluz. Todo esto envuelto sólo en música y una nieblacita nostálgica como conviene à la magia romántica de Sintra.

Ainda não visitei a Quinta da Regaleira pois ainda há algumas restrições devido à pandemia, há um local que se encontra fechado. Quando filmar quero poder mostrar tudo, espero que seja em breve, assim como o Castelo dos Mouros 😃 Abraços!

Great video. I have been a traveler most of my life. As I am not in my 70s I don’t travel so much because it’s just more difficult then before. Of course Covid didn’t help much. Hopefully that goes the way of the dinosaur. Although I was born in Germany I never traveled around Europe much. I’ve been in the airport of a few European countries but never visited other than Germany. I’m regretting that I didn’t put Portugal and Spain on my list. Im certainly going to make this a bucket list destination.

I recommend you the video Palaces and Gardens of Sintra (quite good, I think, at least visually). It complements this one, covering the palaces and vegetation on the mountain (Pena, Regaleira and its initiation well, Monserrate, the castle of the Moors and a bit farther away the palace of Queluz. Only with music and mist, so adequate for nostalgic Sintra.

I traveled a lot, only inside Portugal and Spain tho, but Sintra is my favorite place in the whole Iberian Peninsula. The word may be overused but it's indeed magical, only way to feel it it's to go there a day or two. It's a bit too crowded with tourists during the Summer and things are a bit overpriced but still worth it by far.

Sintra es una verdadera joya por su magia, su belleza, sus calles intrincadísimas ,sus lugares icónicos. Yo estuve pero este lugar es inacabable y solo concí por dentro el Palacio da Pena, comí de las queijadas ,cené en un lugar precioso . Pero quedé con ganas de conocer la Quinta das Regadeiras y el Palacio Real o sea que me quedó mucho para conocer y tambien reconozco que en un video no se puede poner todo. Es demasiado pero es un lugar que vale el esfuerzo y ahora no puedo hacer esa viaje otra vez, o sea que les pido un nuevo video, cuando se pueda. Los hacen muy especiales, da la sensación de estar "ahi".Gracias!!!

Te recomendo el video Palaces and Gardens of Sintra-Portugal, que acabé de conocer y que, complementando este, me parece el mejor que he visto sobre Sintra (por lo menos visualmente). Cubre el Palacio da Pena, la Regaleira y su pozo iniciático, Monserrate, el castillo de los Moros, la preciosa vegetación de la sierra y un poco más lejos el Palacio de Queluz. Todo esto envuelto sólo en música y una nieblacita nostálgica como conviene à la magia romántica de Sintra.

Ainda não visitei a Quinta da Regaleira pois ainda há algumas restrições devido à pandemia, há um local que se encontra fechado. Quando filmar quero poder mostrar tudo, espero que seja em breve, assim como o Castelo dos Mouros 😃 Abraços!

Great video. I have been a traveler most of my life. As I am not in my 70s I don’t travel so much because it’s just more difficult then before. Of course Covid didn’t help much. Hopefully that goes the way of the dinosaur.
Although I was born in Germany I never traveled around Europe much. I’ve been in the airport of a few European countries but never visited other than Germany. I’m regretting that I didn’t put Portugal and Spain on my list. Im certainly going to make this a bucket list destination.

Hello Lesley, happy Sunday! 😀 Ah, thank you for your kind words, much appreciated! I was in Sintra yesterday, but I didn't film it. Completely different atmosphere to what you see in the video, lots of rain, fog... but Sintra is always lovely!
I recommend you the video Palaces and Gardens of Sintra (quite good, I think, at least visually). It complements this one, covering the palaces and vegetation on the mountain (Pena, Regaleira and its initiation well, Monserrate, the castle of the Moors and a bit farther away the palace of Queluz. Only with music and mist, so adequate for nostalgic Sintra.
I was here couple days latter. Love this place, and Portugal.
