I just had a bike accident last week and gonna need surgery. I keep replaying the moment it happened in my mind, thinking about "What if..." but hearing Naval's points on the uslesness of thinking about the past and the importance of being present fits perfectly into what I'm going through right now. Already took my lessons from the accident, and at this moment I'm just torturing myself by continuing to think about it. Time to move on and re-estructure my life accordingly.

What’s crazy is that the EXACT same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago. So far no need for surgery but i was faced with a lot of medical malpractice that prevented me from
Getting out of hospital and then had to be re-admitted. It’s like at all those points the mental torture became wayyy worse than the physical

So, to live your best life is by paying attention to every little detail from the moment you wake up from sleep. Your feet against what your body walks on, your breath, the wind, the sounds. The more you do this, the chatter in your mind will go quiet. Then you should be able to get the things done, step by step, day by day. Thanks for this upload!

Being completely immersed in the mystery of life which is the essence as well as the totality of Who I AM. This is a beautiful reminder for the constant recognition of the present moment, enjoying and celebration even the tiniest bit of life. Thank You and You alone

In case you might want to edit and improve the video to make it more usable, the scientist with the "Russian or Polish name" that Ravikant mentions when he is talking about flow is Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi (actually a Hungarian name). You can add it in the notes so anyone interested in the flow state can look up his works.

Interesting discussion. Not sure I buy “to be in constant flow, be conscious of every moment”. I feel it’s the opposite. When I’m consciously self-aware I cannot be in flow. Flow to me is completely effortless and second nature.

I disagree about not thinking about the past. Reflecting about past experiences is one of the most useful things I've found in my own life. To reflect and to allow my mind to process past events to inform future decisions is huge for me. I think not spending any time reflecting to inform future decisions is a huge miss.

He just said in the beginning. That one can go back only if there are true lessons to be learned. But yes one can learn them living their life being fully aware as well. I missed that point as well

They completely ignored the chemicals of brain while talking about time, if you are getting your dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin and Norepinephrine based on the activity you will be more happier

I love Naval's advice, but it's ultimately meaningless without Christ underlying it.
