Well,, this thing´s come a long way from torslanda. It is no older than 1986 though, the two air intakes in front of the windscreen gives it away. B230A carburator engine by the looks of it so probably somewhere between -86-88.
Not only has it got the delete option on the rear lights, but someone has thoughtfully welded blanking plates where the lights used to be. Also i assume this is the top of the range version, as it still has working air conditioning, as proved by both front windows being down. Despite being its high spec, i bet anything from the Mad Max films would be luxurious in comparison.
@@Cartonaro87 Yeah, I don't know what they're talking about, these cars aren't that complex, plenty of room to work under the hood, etc...they kept one alive with a stick and a prayer for decades in a third world country from the looks of it.
It's not Barbarism, they're simply surviving with minimal resources. Nothing barbaric about that. I respect their ingenuity over us westerners perhaps throwing it away as soon as it needs a simple carb rebuild
Ok, it may need a proper wash, but it never ever looks like 4 million kilometers. When I see it it all its beauty and perfect technical condition and I not would have known better, I would say not more than 3,8 million Kilometers.

This is recycling at high level! I think they use this Volvo as all other cars in Africa that they drive it until it dies and then they use all the usable parts on it on other cars instead of scrapping them.
The 244s never had leaf springs, it should be a solid axle with trailing arm and coil spring setup. Though it’s probably not hard to adapt leaf springs to it to increase its hauling capacity (which looks to be what’s going on here, quite fascinating actually)
A high mileage doesnt do this to a car. Its just look purposefully smashed all around, like its been in several junk-car races. Why do cars there get Weirdly bad and smashed? Yes they still run But they sure wish they were scrapped 😂🤷♂️
He is from Africa so he definitely knows, I’m guessing he put it there, as Africa will attract more views/ be better for the algorithm, then if he put the name of the country he’s from.
This volvo is modified for hauling, which is why there are no seats in it.

i politely refuse.
Made in Sweden 1980, not 1950
Cop: Sir, you have no brakes lights
Oh I'm sorry officer I'll buy some bulbs.
Cop: No...the brake lights...they're gone.
Nice volvo Mad Max edition
😂
The Volvo is more economical whereas Mel’s car is a gas guzzler. Silly when fuel is precious!😂

No definitely 50 years old this one.
Old volvo never die
Rear leaf springs. Nice upgrade 👍
Yeah, for hauling heavy loads.
It gets the job done! That's what matters most.
I think that volvo has seen better days
This is James Bond car!🚀🚀
The condition of this car hurts me (as do the movements of the camera)
Africa, bro
Condition? What condition? That car is begging to be scrapped.
@@burakozc3079I thought it already was scrap and it had just forgot to stop rolling.
One careful owner. Any inspection welcome.
that car lived more than some people
Old Volvo. It just doesn't die ..they last almost forever
Sorry for the Nit-picking, but that is a Volvo 245 and not a 244.
какая красотааааааа 😍🤩🤩
I like your videos do MORE TRUCKS ❤❤
I will, thanks
One day in the future you will be glad to have a car like this.
No.
Nice! Ready for Pebbles Beach!
This will be Europe in 20 years with all the diversity and enrichment going on.
😂 you guys need to end socialism now!!!
Wauw, and I tought some of the old Volvo’s here in Denmark was beat up 😄 This is a other level of beat up 😄😄
That one is an 80s car.has the two tone paint and the never dash. Rounded of rear fenders for the newer tail lights
Volvo, the car build for eternity.
This model is from middle seventies.
No, it's from 1986-1988

The thing about old Volvos is they don’t die
Running on hopes and dreams
The mirror on the door is from 1988 and newer also the panel
Africa is like the true mad max.
Visual artists of the post apocalyptic genre take notes!
😄
For some reason, my brain loves this stuff.
👍
This is what a car looks like when you take care of it for 40 years, with a sledgehammer
This looks pretty similar to mine after polishing it for a week.
Mad Max
5:55 Cant be 1950. This model has been build since 1974. The nameplate could be from a PV444 (1947-1958). Nice Video! Thx!
You are right!
@@blexidy Thx! Now ive read that the PV60 was build untill the1950s. I didn't know the PV60 before so I learned something again today.
Great video i subscribed 🇹🇷
Thanks for subbing!
Wat is er van de volvo over dan ?
My dad and father in-law, both had this.
Those were impossible to fix once they stopped running.
And no, this is not from 70's but from 80's.
Why it was impossible to fix?
@@Cartonaro87 Yeah, I don't know what they're talking about, these cars aren't that complex, plenty of room to work under the hood, etc...they kept one alive with a stick and a prayer for decades in a third world country from the looks of it.
Yes as you can see it totaly not working in the video very impossible to fix its like new hahah
That's by far the most stylish rat I've ever seen. I'd freakin love to ride that bastard on German roads.
Lekarze już jada😂
I was in Germany less than a week ago and to be frank I don't want to ride anything on German roads again, not even a tank. You people are crazy!
Anyone else feel sorry for the Volvo being subjected to these barbarians?
It's not Barbarism, they're simply surviving with minimal resources. Nothing barbaric about that. I respect their ingenuity over us westerners perhaps throwing it away as soon as it needs a simple carb rebuild
Africa is rich in resources. The people are just too corrupt and cretinous to make it work.
No
Greatfull engineers and doctors!

Yes, it was common during the 90’s to send a lot of cars from Switzerland (and Western-Europe in general) in Africa
This could be an extra car for the next Fury Road
My wife thought the move was called "Furry road". I like that better.
Timing belt looks new.
the belt was replaced recently, 40 years ago :)
It's original, can't beat the quality 👌

isn't that a grill from a 260?
POV: Craigslist seller, *I KNOW WHAT I HAVE, NO LOWBALL OFFERS* 😝
That's no neglect, the car was tuned to match the owner's perception. Probably he lacks something)
Hard to kill a Volvo red block motor.
This one owns the sticker to go the zero emisión zone on downtown?, crazy Word...
No airfilter for the engine 🫣
The long drive
Bellissima 😮😊😂❤🎉
The car can be restored... but it will cost a bit.

All this car..running yes..but should be recykled LONG time ago.

nice truck 😅
This poor volvo will suffer for the end of time it never dies

The homebuilt African helicopters are more advanced 😅
Did Volvos ever come with lead springs? That's a Ford diff this is a body on frame fabrication

Can't you test. Drive a Scania?
Absolutely.
Made in Sweden 1980, not 1950. Still nice to see a Volvo 245 van doing what a Volvo 245 van does best, haul shit.
Where did you see 1950? @metonAlternate
no other brands could do that with the original drivetrain and motor
Does it still have the original drive train?
Please show Opel
A few years ago in Morocco I got to ride in an Opel Record taxi which was in an even worse shape than this Volvo. Really enjoyed it!
Ok, I will.
Thanks for watching
Why is everything in Africa so broken??
