My stand-ins were not distributed randomly only in X/Z, but also in Y, so that some were above and some were below my ground plane. I redid this several times, and came out with the same result each time.
Sorry. I have not, and the creator of the tutorial had yet to respond. If you get wind of anything, please leave a comment here, and I will try to remember to do the same.
Sorry I have not had time lately to check my Autodesk world channel, did you try adjusting the pivot of your standinds to the bottom instead of the middled?
Great video! I was wondering if you might know why none of my instances get drawn in the viewport. The only way I can visualize them right now is one big bounding box, but I'd like to see the individual instances so that I can compose my shot properly. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
YOU ARE AMAZING!! i didn't think you could use MASH with standins. thank you so much for pointing out the instancer :D

Hi. It`s possible to create instances like you did on the video, with animated mesh?
Raphael Paulino hello yes it is possible !

I have one question for you, you can save the scene after this? because my maya crash all the time, it's impossible to save for me after that.
Thank you verrry much
did you use the ALsky light or a hdr? i can never seem to get the black horizon line in the right place with ALSKu
I was wondering do you have to make the surface live or something to get the plants sitting on a uneven surface?
In your tabs go to "Generate" -----> Make Paintable
This is great!
