So refreshing to hear a review by someone that knows what they're talking about rather than some "review" guy on a different channel that doesn't have much of a clue. Great job Chris.
DISTURBIN' tha PEACE You don't think he sounds oddly like he's reading out SSD marketing copy? Which is weird. I've never thought that about this excellent channel before. 🤷🏻♂️
Ha! I was doing the edit on this, and suddenly realized I should do commercial advertisements AHHAA! So funny. I sounded totally like a robot recording on this one, but was actually too lazy to re-record it. In reality, I'm actually for real happy with this chassis, and it's features, so some explanations just came out of my mouth! ha! Thanks for noticing!
GCMRacing1 - Scale Truck RC in Canada Well thanks for the reply - I wasn’t trying to insult you, just to be clear! You just usually sound more spontaneous. Love the channel. And your foam-trimming tip worked a treat for me recently, so thanks! 👍
Such a top notch chassis set-up. Like how you built a rear plate with wheel covers like it was nothing. Ordered the turbine wheel inserts. Can't wait to put them on my project build.
The whole fun of the Hobby is upgrading everything myself as I go. Installing what I want when I want & actually doing the work myself. so thats why the SS trail kings not for everyone. Oh & I almost forgot not everyone has $600.00 dollars just for a chassis. Don't get me wrong its a sweet set up Im simply answering your question to why anyone would want anything else after buying that.... 👍🏼
GCMRacing1 - Scale Truck RC in Canada that’s great to hear. I have purchased lots of SSD parts and I’ve always been happy with them they are a top notch company 👍🏼
I don't think it's quite the same actually. This TK transmission uses 4 bolts on the skid, and they look to be in different places than any of the SCX ones I've seen. You could poke in new holes though...
@@GCMRacing1 I thought that wouldn't it. Well on this case I'll go with the GCM kit, was just trying find something a bit cheaper since work those days are hard. Hope you guys from GCM are doing well with this whole COVID19 stuff. Thanks for the information.
I'm trying to build a Class1 scale rig. I already have the SSD kit, LC70, and a Range rover hardbody. I would like your opinion on which body you would put on the SSD Trail King chassis?
Sounds great! The TK is a nice 313mm wheelbase setup. It's great for the larger body for sure, the LC70 is a much narrower and smaller and might look less stock and more jacked up sorta.
Chris, that's a 3 link with Panhard, not a 4 link. They did nail the geometry! Even on 3 link if you don't set it up right it'll have a scoschse of bumpsteer or compression issues often with clearance, not with this kit. Those U Joints are MASSIVE! I feel like you're already going stir crazy bud! lol
Chris, that's a VERY well thought out Chassis!! I hope I can get one at some point... For us poor folks, do you suppose those nice Slider Covers fit on stock SCX10 II Sliders?? Great, thorough Review!! 👍👍 Carmine ✈🚂🚙

Thank you GCM, be safe and be well please, amazed still by that beautiful Bronco paintjob!
Cheers, be well!

Sweet stuff!

Awesome thorough once over of the SSD trail king chassis, this build is moving along !! 👍👍
Still a bunch to do! Thanks for watching!
I love my SSD TK. Awesome kit.
It's great yeah!
Looks to be a very well engineered chassis by SSD. That Holmes Hobbies motor should do the trick nicely as well 🤘🏼
You know when you get something awesome in your hands.. you just know it's well done. This is that thing. really pleased with it!

those SSD drive shafts have no issues on my trx4 with a holmes hobbies 3800kv brushless setup so for a brushed setup should be a breeze for them
Great report! Thanks!
Awesome chassis really looks like a solid build🙂 my need to look at getting one. thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching!
Awesome. Who makes those shock towers? thanks
That's a new product from SSD
Really nice rig, can't wait to see it done! Question for you, would the SSD transmission with the transfer case kit fit on the SCX10 skid plate?
I don't think it's quite the same actually. This TK transmission uses 4 bolts on the skid, and they look to be in different places than any of the SCX ones I've seen. You could poke in new holes though...

So true! Half the stuff coming out of my mouth I had to correct just to get it right on the video!
Check your tire direction. I see the front tires are already 2 different directions
Got it!

I think SSD has the sliders available as a separate item ya
Cool, thanks!! 😉
Link/Part number for the front battery tray?
