    MAJOR CORRECTION !! IF YOU HAVE A E93 WHICH IS THE HARDTOP CONVERTIBLE, THE DMTL PUMP IS BEHIND THE PASSENGER WHEEL. THE HYDRAULICS FOR THE TOP MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO BE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE

      Thanks for the update. I havent driven a vert since my 89 mustang GT days back about 23 years ago. But good knowing. I guess on the non M cars the DMTL is behind the passenger area also

    I have a code p1449, diagnostic module tank leakage pump current too high,, so I looked at the fuel pump on the left side driver side pulled it down and started the car I held the motor to the canister and I don't feel any vibration no humming sound shouldn't there be one? I'm thinking maybe the motor went bad the one attached to the canister? No smell of gas, but this code comes up with a check engine light when I step on the gas hard. Then I'll get an engine failure warning reduced power but the car runs fine! I have a 2009 BMW 335i coupe, any help would be appreciated thank you!!

    I had that dmtl code on my e92 335i and also wasn't able to fill up past half a tank. I replaced the pump but unfortunately I think it's the charcoal canister causing my issue. Apparently you can fix the canister by banging on it until you hear rattling versus paying like 400 for a new one 😁

      Ive heard that also. Saying it could be clogged or some shit. Mine though I can leaking like a river under the car near the passenger rear wheel. Clearly a masive leak on the overfill

    • @RDDC_Official
      @RDDC_Official  4 года назад +1

      Yeah change the gas cap first. With mine I found a leak. Well I see a leak just dont know what it's coming from. But mine is something to do with the overflow tube. But I also hear it could be a charcoal canister clogged, fuel filter clog, the DMTL pump, or gas cap.

    Bmw error - 11/10/2020 -
    My Bmw 2011 128i convertible - 86k miles got error- The code was: 0x002B DMTL, system fault. The DMTL pump/module is what needs to be replaced. It detects leaks in the fuel system. For now i requested dealer to reset since want to see whether it will come back before i pay $680 to replace the DMTL pump module.
    Any suggestions? Thanks.

    • @RDDC_Official
      @RDDC_Official  3 года назад +1

      That DMTL pump is like $80. Takes like 45 minutes at best to change out. Other possibilities....charcoal canister clogged, actual leak in fuel system, or gas cap

    • @RDDC_Official
      @RDDC_Official  3 года назад

      I'm gonna say no. While I'm no professional at this thing, what I know it's used for emissions purposes to detect a leak. Now, if it's restricting gas flow, which it shouldn't because it's not attached to the gas line, then maybe. But it's safe to say it does not. Misfires can come from bad coil packs

    • @RDDC_Official
      @RDDC_Official  4 года назад +1

      @@MrBakakeng the dmtl pump is just an emissions think to check for a leak in the system. As for backflowing onto the gas cap, this im unsure of. Its shouldn't be wet and thats a pretty far distance for it to backstream to the gas cap from the tank, unless its a full tank. Try observing on a half of tank or near empty. That dmtl pump is a very basic device.
