I swear that never felt so attached to two characters like these. I feel joy, sadness, thrilled...for this finale. I must to order all this heavenly scenes in my mind to remember. I´ll never forget Jane and Lisbon, Simon and Robin either, amazing actors and beautiful humans. At this point I promise to myself to know people like them.
Bruno Heller shows love between two persons that don´t know how to love again, their honesty and unconditional love without expecting anything back....and finally hapiness triumphs. Who doesn´t want this in life?
I think this may be the only series, that gave the fans exactly what they wanted.
You can say that again for the people at the back😃💪
@Chris Xentrac The "ships" also made sense. They were set up to work either way. Either as really good friends who have each others back if the fandom didn't want them together or with this as the end in mind.
The Rigsbies was also very well set up through the entire show and it was a build up relationship.
In general the relationships in the show worked so well because they developed and grew. The characters had little quirks that other characters picked up on together with the viewer rather then "ohh yeah btw XX allways plays with her hair when she lies" while you have never seen it before when you knew that character was lying situations.

I was so scared when that serial killer was going after jane during his wedding i thought he might hurt jane or worse Lisbon..but glad all worked out well

Look at Simon Baker's smile at the very end. It kinda makes you feel happy and sad at same time. Happy because he makes you realize that Jane found the true happiness again and sad because with this finale, it won't happen a return from Mentalist. Amazing show. Missing this already.

Honestly it makes me happy because it is closure on the show. That is why IMO the last episode of House is one of the best endings to anything I have ever seen. It answered basically every question and didn't give any feelings of "we need a new season" while allowing for potential spin offs (I am pretty sure a series was planned with Jesse Spencer as a new "House" tat operated completely differently showcasing that a more humane way would have been possible with the same results, was planned).
The two series that completely drew me in were The Mentalist and Person of Interest. They both had the courtesy to bring everything to closure. I miss both of those shows.
The beauty of this scene is undying. It’s 2020 and I’m still sobbing! THE best show I’ve ever watched.

While the last two seasons changed too drastically for my liking, this ending was so damn fulfilling. Rigsby and Van Pelt retire from cop work with a company they own, Cho takes over the task force, Abbott moves to DC, Jane and Lisbon settle down with a child. Quality show, worth every minute I spent on it.
If only they had let Vega live, it would have been better.

I regretted the loss of Vega, her death made no sense, I think things would have ended the same without the need to murder her, I also think she could contribute more by having made an earlier appearance she had potential and chemistry with Tim Kang, but at least I can say that The only thing that I defend the sixth and seventh seasons is to give the characters of Jane and Lisbon the necessary closure that they needed, it was beautiful in many ways

Of all the TV shows I've watched I can honestly say this has the most beautiful and touching ending. It's not overly sappy, nor does it leave you feeling like you've wasted several years of your life watching the show. The true beauty of the scene comes from knowing how much Patrick lost but realising that he has now been given a second chance due to his finally having the courage to try for it. A truly wonderful and heart-lifting scene that had me shedding happy tears. Definitely my number one favourite TV show for gifting us with such a warm and loving conclusion. ❤️

I find it kind of sad that Lisbon is a believer and Jane isn't. I mean, how are they going to raise their kid? That's a question that's going to come up later.
Randomfully Wonderful - I’ve got an uncle and aunt who are like Patrick and Teresa in that respect, he doesn’t believe but she does. They solved it by both accepting the other’s choice to either believe or not. They have two sons (who were both baptised) and are still happily married some 40 years later. In the case of Patrick, after everything they’ve been through and how well he knows her I’d say he loves Teresa as she is, including her beliefs, as this has helped shape her into the woman he admires and respects.
Imagine how smart their kid will be

This is one of those rare endings to a series where you feel completely empty afterwards because of how greatly you feel the loss of those characters.

What I loved about the ending is that Patrick lost belief in everything. He had no spiritual connection, no faith. But then he falls in love, gets married and becomes a father all at once. The same way he lost his family in one shot, he gains it back. That's some meaning in there, at least that's how I see it. The ending is awesome.
Yeah who knows maybe itl even be enough for him to have some actual faith down the road ya know, his arrogant atheism was always his like only fault really, and I'm sure after his first wife and child were killed that certainly didn't help matters, anyways yeah amazing show and for once a perfect ending.

a lot of people mentioned that this is one of the best finales for a tv show and that's one of the reasons why it's my comfort show. we waited so long to see Jane have a happy ending (and Lisbon too, obviously, like that's my girl she's my favorite character) and we actually GOT IT. I can rewatch knowing things do work out in the end for the best. it's so satisfying, such a full circle moment for the main character. makes all that pain and all those failures actually mean something. and every other character we love is together with them to celebrate and they're all happy too. yeah it's cheesy. but what's wrong with that when it's exactly what would've made the fans happy? I'm so glad Bruno Heller didn't wanna throw a curveball at the audience in order to do sth unexpected like so many other writers do. it's one of the only shows i can say i am totally satisfied with.

I just imagine Angela and Charlotte being so happy for him. Charlotte did like Lisbon. It was one of my favorite episodes seeing her, and her telling her dad he needed to move on, and now he has! He’s gotten a second chance to do it right and have his beautiful family.
This show will forever be my comfort show, I love Jane and Lisbon so much and the fact Simon Baker wrote this scene really just makes it even better. I miss the mentalist still after all these years :(

1:28 - Patrick Jane slowly starts to realize that he's going to be a dad again.
This scene is a piece of art. After all these years Jane finally gets his happy ending. ❤️
I feel like this show lasted just long enough to cap off perfectly. Some critiquing about pacing and such is reasonable, but I do feel that The Mentalist isn't only a tale of revenge, because Patrick was not pure of heart before he was wronged and therefore his quest for vengeance is also a quest for personal redemption. It's not a tragedy, because the destruction brought about by the protagonist's fatal flaw already happened before the show even started--it is a comedy in the classic sense: a journey from chaos to clarity--darkness into light.
Killing Red John solves his debt to Jane, but not Jane's debt to his own murdered family who died due to his hubris. Becoming a better man was his penance for that failure, and being a better man was a journey that *had* to last beyond the death of Red John to truly cement its authenticity.
In my mind, the divine comedy of The Mentalist can be split up as Inferno: Jane catching and killing Red John, Purgatorio: Jane returning from exile and conquering his own fears and cowardice, and Paradiso: Jane forgiving himself and ascending to the joys of love and family. He becomes worthy of returning to the purest state he'd ever achieved: home and family.
The perfect narrative circle returns the journeyman home again, but changed fundamentally for the better. To me, the show managing that level of completion is divine.
People who wanted it to end in a miserable, abrupt, or incomplete way can't see the forest for the trees. I wouldn't trust them to write a coherent travel brochure, or understand the directions on a shampoo bottle.
I see some people here asking for more seasons, and i can only think the right opposite. I mean, this is the perfect ending, at the right moment. The best thing about a TV show, if i may say so, is whenever you miss it, you can start over again knowing that the storyline is well built and most important, all ends well for characters you learned to love.
Jane and Lisbon deserved this conclusion so much, and i feel very well knowing that all happened the way we wanted. Leave it this way, please!

I love the look on her face right after she tells you "I have to tell you something", she's like she's trying not to cry prematurely. Robin has very marked gestures in this character and she does it really well and makes you feel his emotion
Lots of people praise Simon's performance, but it's even harder to react "naturally" while communicating non-verbally. She's a world-class actor

i love this ending scene so much! not only that jane finally got his second chance, but also the acting in the whole series especially in this scene! simon and robin are amazing actors, look how lisbon hesitates just before she tells jane! their emotions seemed real through the whole series and that’s one point why i love the mentalist so much. nothing seems fake, even the littlest details are realistic and warm my heart :) btw simon’s pupils dilate when he sees robin which makes it even more convincing :D i love the mentalist so much and i will never get tired of this show :)
This is the most perfect ending to a series ever, all shows should end on a high like this!! Forbidden love is only good if it has a gorgeous ending like this one, so many shows need reminding of that. Thanks for uploading!!

That Game Girl Never seen a single episode. But looking at the script, I do not find it very interesting. No comparison possible between a book writer bored by his life who plays the policemen and a man (whose family has been killed by a serial killer) who is in need of revenge, This makes a lot of difference.
I just finished watching this remarkable series. The ending was beautiful and it’s interesting how Gabriel’s prediction of Jane being cured by the number 3 could apply here. Of course as Jane says, the number 3 is everywhere but here’s his cure...
1. Confesses his love for Lisbon.
2. Gets remarried.
3. Becomes a father again.
Three also makes a family in this case, which he lost and now regained, him, Lisbon, and his child.
Gabriel was killed because he wasn't a real psychic. Yet people still treat him as one

THE perfect ending. I love how much Jane has grown, especially in the last season. I love how he started to teach the others what he knows, and really wanted them to shine. Lisbon was always the key. They both look at peace and happy. It tugs at my heartstrings so. 😍❤️

While I am always an outspoken supporter of endings that aren't truly happy endings, a la Dexter, I cannot help but feel my heart skip a beat when I think of The Mentalist and how it ended. The poetic nature of gaining at the end what he lost at the beginning is beautiful, and not to be understated. Patrick Jane was hellbent on tragedy from the very beginning, forsaking his personal life in favour of his vendetta. Once that goal was accomplished, the only other thing he wanted was Theresa, and once he had her, he was able to step away from the life of catching the bad guy, and finally give up his crusade for justice. And as if things couldn't possibly get any better, he also finds out he's getting a child. It's almost a tale of redemption, in a way. And it was beautifully told.
My favorita tv serie ending, the first time I thought that Lisbon's pregnacy was too much but it was perfect!, a poetic final, Jane lost his wife and daugther at once, in his way finding red Jhon he felt in love with Lisbon so he got his revange and his family back with someone who does a perfect match! Love it!

I have to say that I've been replaying this like 50 times in 2 days and every time I replay it I like it even more. Thank you so much for the videos. This was a beautiful ending. It was really beautiful to see that he got a new family and the gift of being a father again after all he suffered, but it was even more beautiful to see that Lisbon was the one who gave him that gift.

Idk if it's the "best" ending because it's a happy ending...but it's awesome and completely satisfying! Like you're not left hanging or something... Unlike with other tv series' endings. It still shows you that the future may definitely be uncertain but that shouldn't keep you from being happy NOW. LOVE THE MENTALIST!
People think tragedy is a good ending. That's so lazy and clichéd. It's much harder to pull off a credible yet emotional happy ending.

After I saw this the first time I imagined Theresa kept on working as a bad ass agent like she loves. Patrick is a stay at home dad, but taking the occasionally consultant job, as long as the baby's needs comes first. They both got what they wanted, needed and deserved!
Acredito que a reação dele ao descobrir foi a mesma na realidade.. ele tem 3 filhos, a primeira aos 24 anos mas ele é família e ama os filhos, e para a cena ficar real ele usou a reação real dele para atuar, e juntando com a história dele na série, ficou muito bom

it's pretty heavily implied that Jane already has tons of money leftover from his past life. He just doesn't use it much and lives frugally.
even though the final season was really short, LOL, it's one of my fav seasons of "The Mentalist" ever. and the way the show ended, was real special. i watched this episode on TV, online and on DVD.

I finished watching May 29th 2020 and I completely agree. Simon Baker was 70 minutes car ride from here in Germany in Febuary 2020 and I didn't even know who he is back then...

When Patrick's voice cracks, I cry. This scene and the one where he first tells Lisbon he loves her on the plane just had me crying so bad.

Man, i just now finished this whole series. Im super happy for Patrick Jane. He gained a whole family back.
I love this final!! Patrick and teresa deserve to be in peace! It was amazing and so sadly because of obvious reason ...the ending but instead of that, i'm so happy for the characters and of course of this years watching this tv show enjoying the mentalist! I must say goodbye...
July 2021, I keep watching the series and this finale the best of the best. without a doubt the best series and I doubt that there is not going to be another that can surpass it. Patrick and Teresa, the best series couple

+Lisnape S I'd love them to return too, but honestly I wouldn't want any sort of conflict to arise for them again. This is the perfect ending with no stipulations, something I've never connected with since this scene and I just don't want to lose that!
Best Show/Series Ever IMO! ❤️ This as the ending scene, totally Worth It!! If there's anybody miss or not even knowing this show, they miss a wonderful time..

I really believe when Jane says "even after all these years you're still mystery to me" and i don't see it as him just saying that to make Lisbon happy because this scene proves it to me. Previously, in all the cases he could just psychoanalyze a person in minutes, he could tell if a murdered man's wife was pregnant and all that Jazz. But here he didn't know that she was pregnant until she told him and his reaction was so authentic. I think Lisbon is the only person he cannot completely read and that's beautiful to me.

Eu já assiste a série 5 vezes simplesmente magnificar. Esse final foi tão lindo é emocionante não canso de assistir. A química ,o olhar deles são ecantador. Amo essa série todos os atores fantástico.
Final é incrível,simples ,terno,doce,suave e que pela interpretação dos seus personagem ,algumas palavras nem precisaram ser ditas;com seus olharem encantadores nos enfeitiçaram ,é a única série que teve um final perfeito!
