  • In this episode, Wes and Lucas react to Jermell Witherspoon and Royce Yeun, pastors of Common Good Church in Bellevue, WA, to the radical claim: "God worships us!" They further discuss why this is a foreshadow of Acts 29 churches.

@@methodministriesYup! I saw a tweet about Russell Moore which lead me to dig further in to Acts 29 (had been passively attending the same A29 church as Moore for 2+ years but didn't really know who he was). My YT searching lead me to you and my family left a few weeks later. I have lots to learn but I can definitely say I do NOT passively attend our new church and take my faith/church more seriously after realizing what I was getting lulled in to. THANK YOU!

Wait, I watch this video within a video for all of five seconds when the preacher said, “what if we worship the divine essence as SHE worships us?“ Well, that does it for me. There is nothing else this so-called “man of God“ has to teach me about anything to do with the Bible or worship. 👋🏽 Buh-bye.

Amen Lucas. A judgement of our God is to hand us over to our flesh and desires. Almost like a self destruct mechanism . Paul states 3 handing overs in Romans 1:24, 26 and 28
I pray as Paul to deliver me out of this body of sin and David also said in Psalm 40:2 , Deliver me out of this miry clay, this pit of destruction. May our God have mercy on us and we thank Him for His deliverance in freeing us from death

Man I feel attacked on music lol I do happen to play some music while I pray, it’s a mix of some hymns and some softer contemporary worship. But to be fair I also find myself listening to the same playlist while at work.
    Good commentary guys.

Thank you so much for such a wholesome and clear presentation of what “worship” actually means in accordance to Romans 12. I think there are two sides of the spectrum when it comes to this issue of modern day worship where on one side you have as you have alluded to this Christian mysticism of creating an external sensory experience devoid of the engagement of the mind but on other hand you can also have a more legalistic, so called proper or traditional church environment if you will where people can have the proper “look” but their hearts can also be far from Him. But I do agree, that the pendulum has swung too far into this concert style atmosphere of ambiguity! Worship first and foremost is a surrendered life to Jesus that bears the evidence of good fruit! I enjoyed this & subscribed! Keep up the good work for the Kingdom! 🙏🏽🕊️

Can you help me understand what is effeminate about slow gentle worship music and talking gently to God? I agree with most of your points but I’m confused about that one, and when you said “it may as well have been a woman preaching”.

The genre, tone, and agenda of the music which intentionally creates an atmosphere of sensationalism and then teaches that this experience is the manifestation of the power and spirit of God.

As I understand it, Acts 29 is a Calvinist Org that runs churches worldwide. However, the term “Acts 29 church” can be applied to any church that tries to add to the church, its teachings, or change them. I could be wrong tho. Regardless of the true meaning, I think the term “Acts 29 church” is a funny one by itself since Acts 29 doesn’t exist, nor does the teaching and beliefs of these churches
