Here's my question if you're being followed by a police officer and their lights are on and they're trying to pull you over don't you have the right to make it to a safe location for not just yourself but for everybody else on the road so that might have been the closest spot for her to feel safe was around other people
I learned something. That cops are evil and should be avoided whenever possible.
Sorry, but huge disagreement with you on this one.
1. Cops are the first responder to 99% of fatal accidents. Watching a woman ignore emergency vehicles trying to pass her is not only a pet peeve, but it’s a public danger.
2. The only way a rational adult driver could drive for 5 miles without noticing a police cruiser directly behind her, is somebody who has her cell phone on her lap or is carry on a conversation while she is driving.
I think this woman was in a hurry, was in her own little world, and completely unapologetic for it. When she committed a crime by not allowing an emergency vehicle to pass her, she is now a public nuisance, and needs to be taken off the street. I see nothing wrong here.
The guy has had 29 complaints and still is a cop? This is unbelievable
I believe it police are not your friends. Police departments are domestic terrorists
The more complaints the more promotions they get.
29 complaints filed by garbage like her.
To be fair my wife has lodged far more complaints against me as a husband and I’m still married to her.
Sometimes complaints are just complaints. Other times complaints are actual problems. Hell if everyone who got 10 complaints were fired, Starbucks would be without baristas and McDs would have no burger flippers.
Yeah, but baristas and burger flippers aren't typically armed to the teeth, with a badge, and the power of life and death in their hands. @@turtleinashirt
The way he seems to enjoy lecturing her while she is crying is disturbing. This is exactly the kind of person that should NEVER have authority over anyone.
He's a sadist on an ego trip. I'm sure he has loved ones who will say he's a very nice family man, yadda, yadda. But he lacks the judgment that I expect of professional law enforcement. Do better, Texas!

@@shortshortshortcom Exactly. BTK was a nice family man.
The woman was pregnant, bawling and had the added stress of her husband having had surgery while she was at work. Yet, the cop arrests her out of spite because he refuses to believe that she isn’t lying. She stuck to her story even facing a jail cell and the cop still insists she is lying. I believe if she had said what he wanted to hear, THEN she would have been lying. I wish there weren’t so many officers with inflated egos fueled by power.
Yep... infuriating and disgraceful, I'm watching this and my blood is boiling. The woman has to get to the hospital because her husband's having surgery and the idiot cop is ignoring her. 😡😡
He probably flashed his lights once then got angry when she didn't immediately notice and made some shit up. He was clearly using classic gaslighting tactics on her and doubled down when he realized she was vulnerable. Absolute scumbag
If she had been blonde and didn’t have an accent I’ll bet he’d have been nicer.
yeah, the cop who arrested me was convinced i was lying as well, despite me telling the honest truth all throughout. even went so far as to say "just tell the truth next time" as we pulled into the jail. i said sir i did tell the truth, you just don't believe me.

She asked at least twice what was going on and he responded: I feel silly explaining to you what's going on. THATS A TOTAL VIOLATION OF HER RIGHTS

Arent they required to tell her why she’s being arrested? From her POV it could be people pretending to be cops and kidnapping her.
Nope, not a violation. The police are not required to tell you what you did wrong. I know it's stupid. But it's true...
Thank you officer for protecting us from the evil pregnant lady going to pick her husband up from the hospital! You’ve saved countless lives in your endeavor!
They have to steal somehow how do you think the corporation pays for all this “protecting and serving”.
As the saying goes, better ten pregnant women go to jail than one police officer get hurt feelings.
It doesn't matter if she's pregnant. What matters is her actions while driving. She was supposed to slow down and pull over. She didn't.
@@kevinlue4756 what does matter is that the cop shouldn't have of arrested her
Actually the officer did protect us and may have saved a life or two, including that of the pregnant lady and her baby.
Traffic accidents kill MANY more persons than crime, and distracted driving is in the top-3 main contributors.
That lady was not in a mental condition to drive, similar to driving under the influence.
Now, that doesn't mean that I agree with what the officer did. Not at all.
The officer could have just gave her the tickets, spend a couple of minutes explaining to her something similar to what I explained above and how that level of distraction endangers her own life and that of other persons sharing the streets, and get a commitment from her to pay more attention.
Or, if he didn't think that the woman could achieve the required level of attention, tell her "I can't let you drive in this condition, but instead of arresting you let me take you to the hospital, you can get an Uber from there, go home, rest, and then you or your husband pick up the car when you feel better". THAT would be sere and protect.
Anytime they give an officer a suspension instead of a real punishment, they're just telling the community they don't care at all about officer accountability.
Right an says to that tyrant hey keep doing it. Most lawsuit are created by dame cops. But we wont fire them till 20 lawsuits or something terrible happens.
The suspension is a paid vacation.
What reason do they have to care? They aren't held accountable and the courts protect them.
@@Moon_Presence Exactly. Suspension with pay is a reward, not a punishment.

Probably, he was just fulfilling the daily arrest quota. If he had no arrests for a couple of days, it would go against his performance. We are all aware that most police officers in the force do not have degrees. Many of them served in the military right after graduating from high school, and after a few years in military service, they would apply to join the police force. A study was conducted to compare the behavior of police officers with degrees versus those without degrees when dealing with a suspect. The study revealed that police officers with a college education tend to be more polite, while those without degrees often exhibit excessive force and ego when dealing with suspects.

He was unnecessarily harsh. She was obviously in the midst of personal distress with her husband being in surgery. The officer was mad and his actions show he took his anger out on her.
The perception as a victim of domestic abuse I was, this guy has issues with women, he loves to humiliate them. I guess childhood wounds cause of the females in the house? Or his mom? I bet you that he’s not like it with makes and I wonder if those complains came from women as well.
She nearly hit a cop then fled five miles with lights on behind her. She was obviously in no condition to be driving, and she got lucky he felt bad at the station about her husband needing her care after surgery.
Who said she nearly hit a cop@@WitchyBishy? If that where true wouldn't she have been lifted for dangerous driving? The cop had to much power and he abused it!
The arresting her, taking her to the station, then sending her back thing was a total ego trip.
This is why people don't respect police officers.
It’s a sick mental game
Sucks all those feelings and the stress go directly to the baby.
The impression I get too. The entire thing was just him having to fill up his need to feel in control and finding an easy target. He kept on going on about how much easier it would have been to write tickets instead... he could have done it. He was the only reason it was taken that far.
Hey, at least he didn't do a pit maneuver and overturn her vehicle on the highway, like another officer did to another pregnant woman (who had turned on her hazard lights and slowed down to seek a spot to pull over). Silver linings...
He got suspended for a few days???? He’s got 29 complaints and they still think it’s okay to have him on the force? His attitude clearly indicates that he KNOWS that he can get away with anything, it’s extremely upsetting.
...and conservative bootlickers wonder why most of us don't trust the police. I think this makes it pretty clear.
That is what they mean by defunding the police. Defunding them breaks the police union and then a city can hire back the cops they want and not hire back the ones they don’t want to .
He should have been fired

She lead him on a five mile chase. FIVE MILES. How long does it take to travel five miles? At highway speeds that's about five minutes. 29 complaints is INSANE, because most people would never dare file a complaint against an officer for fear of retaliation. So 29 likely means he does this on a daily basis and only got called out on it 29 times.
Seriously what other job would allow for any employee to receive that many complaints and still be on payroll?
@@Yourmom-yz7qw A union job
@@Yourmom-yz7qw not many, but law enforcement/first responders/healthcare workers have a larger margin for this. People will file complaints because their ribs were bruised when an EMT was administering CPR that saved their life, or because an officer tased them while they were attacking that officer. I’ve been a CNA for many years and have had more than a few ridiculous complaints filed against me. One of which was a patient actually taking the time to fill out a complaint form because I wouldn’t get a swatter and chase a fly around his room to kill it when I had many other much more pressing maters to tend to. Mind you, clearly this officer is a huge jerk and the way he handled this was wrong, I’m just pointing out that there are reasons why certain careers have allotments for complaints.

When he was following her for 4.8 miles and they came to intersections and junctions and red lights, why didn't he get out of his vehicle and walk up to her tap on the window and tell her to stop?
We see that he has had to go for training for failing to turn on his dash cam and recording in the past. Just how many times does he fail to turn on his dash cam to record the truth that he has had to go for extra training on this?

I think you missed a crucial point. The cop said that he was arresting her and bringing her to jail basically to punish her (a bad consequence for her bad action). I would add that it does not seem likely he was behind her for several miles as the officer stated in the video. If she was going for that amount of time and distance, both a dash cam and body cam could have been used to prove the validity of the officer's arrest. It does sound excessive that she went that long without noticing flashing lights and having this officer behind her. It's likely the officer lied about that detail and was just frustrated over the idea of someone not yielding to his authority immediately. That on top of the overwhelming amount of complaints and investigations, that's a likely sign of an officer who's a problem maker than a problem solver.

Texas is absolutely LOADED with Deputy Dawgs.
One of the most concerning parts of this is the fact that the initial "investigation" but the Ft. Worth PD found nothing wrong about the officer's behavior. Yet a second investigation by the PD that was monitored by the Police Oversight office determined his actions warranted a weeks suspension. This shows that they cannot be trusted to hold themselves accountable. All departments should have a civilian review board.
It's quite clear that the department's initial position was if we have the power to do it, any use of discretion is acceptable. This is a department culture thing and I'd be willing to bet if there is one officer behaving this way in the department, there are others.
