Thank you for your expertise I have to remove mine because I somehow managed to get a short the screen just cut out I tried to replace the fuse 3 times and realized there’s an exposed wire somewhere and I have to track it down. I didn’t install or remove anything so I have no idea what or where it could be but nothing works without that monitor and I don’t even know where to start but it’s got to be fixed. I Appreciate what you do keep up the great job 👍
Is it possible to replace this 8.4 stereo with an aftermarket...2015 sxt model....same as with this car the the head unit has everything in it...such as environmental control?

As far as what to connect them to.....thats a good question. I havent dealt with aftermarket stereos in about 18 years. Not sure whats on the market that you need to buy so that you can add those components. Havent had any personal experience with that. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe.

+Dan Giaimo I keep being told that it cant be done by my parts department. I get asked the question a lot but haven't found any info yet on if it actually can be done. Nothing shows up related when I do a search.
There's a few threads on chargerforums and chargerforumz of people being very successful (aside from inoperable autotemp control) with 2011-2014 models. I'm sure it can be done, but someone has to take the plunge first I guess. If I can't find any further info, I'm going to give it a shot this summer and see how it goes. I'll be sure to keep you posted with results!

Hi, my boyfriend has a 2015 Dodge Challenger SXT and he wants to replace the original radio to a Pioneer Radio but he can't find the Dash Kit anywhere for the 2015. Do you know where I can find it?
I dont get to do any aftermarket stereo installs being at the dealer. I did a quick check online and not finding any thing just as your boyfriend didnt. Some peope show their radios but dont mention where they got the trim panel from. Wish I had more info to give you.

I have a 2017 charger scat pack. When the music is loud or im driving hard, i heard rattle/vibration behind the head unit. Do you think if i open up the dash and unit i can find a loose wire or a plastic piece rubbing against something? Thanks!
Hard to say.....I havent come across this issue myself but it would hurt to try to see if you can narrow it down, especially if you know the general location as well.

Nathan McCain Morning Nathan. I have been asked about people swapping to a 8.4 and each time my parts department has said it cant be done. As far as where to purchase one......I honestly haven't tried to locate one. Being at the dealer.....the radios come thru a supplier thru Chrysler whom I don't know.

My 2015 Chrysler 200 Limited automatically came with the same 8.4 Uconnect radio screen system. Recently, it somehow, magically almost, got a slightly, barely visible hairline crack on it. I figure I don't need to replace the entire module and just replace the screen correct? If I buy the screen itself, would the dealership be able to install it without it costing me a fortune?
The only repair we do at the dealership is replacement of the screen assembly. They dont offer or allow us to just replaced the damaged portion.....the touch screen itself, only the assembly that its part of. So even if you get just the touch screen.....the dealer will be no help in installing it unless one of the techs once to try and see if they can. I would love to find out myself but I have done enough research to find out who offers them and what the process is to make it happen.

So my Dodge Charger 2013 touch screen becomes unresponsive often. It started as a problem in the cold weather and now has spilled into the summer heat as well. I can get it to work my smashing my hand, lightly, onto the screen and moving my fingers around. It will then work for a bit and then usually die off after a few minutes. Any ideas? WOuld a loose connection or something make any sense in this case? Dealership wants a fortune to replace of course. It's 8.4 screen with radio...etc built it.
At the dealership level the only repair we have is replacement. The most we can do is software updates to the radio and then once checked.....replacement if needed. There are online repair companies that can repair these radios. Here is just one that I found while researching: navrepair.com/ . I personally would have the radio checked at the dealer to see if there is a software update. They cant do this with a scanner. They either access the radio to see the current level and then go online to a specific site and download the latest version to a jump drive and then take it to the vehicle and download it. There have been alot of software changes over time for these radios and it may or may not have an affect but would be where I would start. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching. Hey great video! I was wondering if you could help me out.
I have a new 2015 dodge challenger rt, and it has a lower spec head unit... the rt plus has that bigger unit(same as in this video) and i was wondering if I buy that same head unit, if it would plug right in and work as everything is supposed to. I do not have a rear view camera so I'm not concerned with that functionality nor am I concerned with the gps either. I mainly just want to upgrade my head unit for ascetics because the head unit i have now is just smaller and dated looking and you can tell the dash was designed around this bigger unit. But i also want it to remain functional with the bluetooth wireless connectivity and radio and have it all work with my steering wheel controls. If you could give me any insight on whether or not this sort of swap could be as simple as buying the 8.4 inch head unit and swapping factory wires and plus from the old one to the new one or if it is more complicated than that I would greatly appreciate it
+Brian Wharton Hey Brian. I hate to say it but I haven't performed one of those swaps so far. That makes me think it may not be able to be done. The times that I had my parts department look up similar swaps the info was the same....the vehicle isn't wired/designed of that. Its not only a wiring issue.....physical issue.....but also a software/configuration issue. Things have gotten to the point with the technology the cars have that there are certain things that we can no longer perform.....such as what use to be simple radio swaps.

Angel Romero Morning Angel......I wish I had a 100% for certain answer for you but I haven't had to change these radios out and swapped with another. I deal with the same units in and out. Is there a way to replace the touchscreen if it accidentally gets cracked? That's my dilemma at the current moment. I don't want to take the whole car into the shop so they can replace the whole unit.

+JuanCarlos ESP I hear of people doing the swap but I haven't done one myself. I haven't had a customer welling to "try" it. Would be a lot of money spent if it didn't work. I would love to try to do one but I need a guinea pig! lol. I wish I had more info or be of more help.....but I don't want to give you the wrong info.

JuanCarlos ESP I need to one day sit down and try to research as much as I can on the swap......my parts department says no while others have said yes. In some cases I hear somethings don't work after the swap. I have seen some wiring harness you need to make items like the a/c controls to work correctly. Well Georgia is just a short drive lol. I have a few buddies in Houston from back when I was a contractor in Iraq.

Fundamentally yes as far as how to remove it. As far as installing the 8.4 , it may require more items to make it work. I haven't done the swap myself so I can't say for sure what it will take.

+Alex Feresh Make sure that the plastic snaps are in place that hold it to the dash cover. The other issue could be that the openings in the dash cover that the plastic snaps go into.....may be opened up too much and will no longer hold onto the snaps.

Hello Mr. Giron, for some reason it will not allow me to reply back directly to your comment so I will try here. The 2.7 engine.....well to be honest its getting harder to find one coming into the shop these days. You do get one from time to time but not often. Years ago it was common place but as time has gone by and other engines became main stream in these vehicles, the 2.7 slowly disappeared from the shop. All my videos are based off of available subject matter meaning......what ever is in the shop that day when I have time to film. Question 2017 challenger scat pak shaker plus all fuses are good etc radio screen stopped turning on has black screen nothing works but when i put it in reverse the screen comes on for backup camera but when you shift it to drive the screen is completly black again

It does have a fuse that is located in the trunk. It is #23 and its a 15amp fuse.
Why can't the dodge dart be that simple.
Timmothy Daniels Well the Dart is a Dodge by name only in my book. Otherwise its a FIAT underneath and that explains a lot. Which it was like a Charger as well.
