    If i just wanted to upgrade radio size there is no need to remove the climate control module right? I can just take the top portion out and replace the trim+ radio unit? Im not interested in GPS or auto climate

    • @Infotainment_nav
      @Infotainment_nav  4 месяца назад +2

      You do need to replace the climate control panel. The climate panel for the 4.3" system doesn't communicate well with the 8.4" system. The screen isn't the only thing that changes, the CD player is technically the radio itself, and must be replaced with the 8.4" version of the CD player.

    Is there a way to program those to the newer software? Like in the cars from 2017-2023? Or what you have to get that from a dealer and website? Anyone know???

    Great video. The last time I disconnected my negative battery cable and reconnect it, my clock did not synchronize with the navigation system. I have to uncheck the auto and manually change the clock. Hopefully, this makes sense, but how do I reset the clock to auto synchronize with the navigation system?

    • @Infotainment_nav
      @Infotainment_nav  5 месяцев назад

      That's interesting. The clock is typically set by GPS reception. When you disconnect the battery, it essentially resets this radio in a way, so the radio has to recollect GPS satellites. Usually this only takes a couple of minutes driving in a small area because the vehicle needs to be in motion. It's likely this corrected itself at some point, but if it doesn't, then the radio might have a GPS issue, or your antenna might be going bad.

    Does the new radio include Apple CarPlay?

    • @Infotainment_nav
      @Infotainment_nav  Месяц назад

      Unfortunately not this upgrade. We actually don't have a retrofit for CarPlay to the 2011-2014 Dodge Charger. The wiring changed in 2015 and matched the Uconnect 3's, so we can retrofit Uconnect 4's to the 2015+, but we are unable to retrofit to vehicles that have the system (before and after) in this video.

    Switching to this deck from the 4.3 disables my handsfree Bluetooth??

    • @Infotainment_nav
      @Infotainment_nav  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hello there,
      Absolutely not. The REB (4.3 display) uses the same Uconnect Hands Free module as the 8.4" RE2 (Without nav) and RB5 (with nav). So if you already currently have bluetooth, you will retain it with the radio upgrade. However, if you first install the radio, you may need to disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the canbus, so everything communicates properly on the next start-up.
      The key take-away is that this radio upgrade will not give you bluetooth, it will retain it if you have factory bluetooth. Also, factory bluetooth came in two flavors, one that only offered phone calls, and another that did phone calls and music streaming. The 8.4" will retain whichever you had. In order to upgrade to music streaming you will need to replace the Uconnect Hands Free module with one capable of streaming through the dealership.

    ??? CAN I DO THIS TO MY 2014 DODGE CHARGER SE ?????? I have the small screen which I dislike very much I want a bigger screen 😊

    • @Infotainment_nav
      @Infotainment_nav  Месяц назад

      Absolutely. Our product link in the details will show you what's included. I do need to point out, if you currently have factory bluetooth, you will retain it, but if you do not have factory bluetooth, this upgrade will not give you bluetooth. The bluetooth module is separate from the 2011-2014 Dodge Charger radio (CD Player module).

    I have a 2014 dodge charger and want a screen upgrade like this but I want Bluetooth on it for my phone . Is that possible ?

    • @Infotainment_nav
      @Infotainment_nav  Месяц назад

      The radio upgrade to get the larger screen is definitely possible through us. However, this radio does use an external bluetooth module, called the UConnect Touch Hands Free Kit. We do not carry that kit, we used to carry the one that featured bluetooth phone calls, but the kit was discontinued by MOPAR. The dealership may still have the UConnect Touch Hands free kit that includes bluetooth streaming, but we do not carry it. As long as you have the bluetooth kit this radio will work with it.

    Can I just take the hvac module from another charger?

    • @Infotainment_nav
      @Infotainment_nav  Месяц назад +1

      Technically you could! But the main reason for the HVAC module to be replaced, is that the new ones from the dealership or MOPAR will have the most recent software installed into them. I do not know what year that software change was implemented. It's likely a 2014 would have the right software version to the HVAC module, but I would refrain from the 2011-2013 unless it's new in the box. This is speculation, so if a 2014 does not work, then unfortunately I was incorrect, and you will have to get a new one in the box.
