Many people think that Ezio's trilogy, especially Revelations, was unnecessary. I disagree; in my opinion, Ubisoft did a good job and gave a worthy ending to both Ezio and Altaïr.
@@nocontender6409 I'm Brazilian, and at least here, I see a lot of people saying that Brotherhood and Revelation shouldn't exist. That doesn't make much sense because for the story to fit, the other two games need to have happened. I also remember seeing on American forums that some people disagree and believe there should have only been a second game, skipping right to the third. Again, I don't agree with that.
@@leandro5360 It's wild how tastless some people are. I figure those are the kind who don't care about the story, and just want gameplay with stealth mechanics.

Altair (age 92) "When I was very young, I was foolish enough to believe that our Creed would bring an end to all these conflicts. If only I had possessed the humility to say to myself, I have seen enough for one life, I have done my part." Ezio (age 51) "I have seen enough for one life."
Hell yeah dude. Despite it being after one of them is long gone, Ezio and Altair "meeting" is one of my favorite gaming moments of all time. Pure magic.
"Just you, fratello mio." Oh man, when this game first came out, and I reached the end realizing that Altair locked himself away in his own vault, forever protecting what was inside for future generations, wrecked me. I still cry when this scene comes up. Ezio was right, Altair's life was always about the Brotherhood, from birth to death. And yet, he had a family, despite it going through tragedy. He loved his son enough to not burden him with the attention the Apple would bring, and wished him well in life. And by locking himself away in the vault, he stayed true to the Creed. There have been many Mentors, in many different places for each branch, but as far as I'm concerned, Altair is THE Mentor. The Assassins are STILL defined by what Altair did, over a thousand years later! There has never been a truer Assassin. Tears. EVERY TIME. As for Embers, I can only recommend watching it. It's good. That's all I'll say. Hoping for future Assassin's Creed let's plays! They're very good! Thanks for the Let's Play, Jess. It's always so fun to see others getting to experience my favorite video game franchise. I just find it magical, all these stories of past and present. Hoping you enjoy the rest of the series!
One detail I really enjoy is when Ezio finds Yusuf’s body, the first thing he does is remove the knife and toss it aside. The knife has a note attached to it, so clearly the Templars wanted to leave a message with the body. But Ezio didn’t care and prioritized tending to and respecting Yusuf’s remains. It’s a subtle moment but it speaks volumes for Ezio’s character.
I always liked how bittersweet this ending is for Ezio. On the one hand, he gets to actually choose an ending. He chooses to retire, to set aside the Assassin life, and just live. On the other, since he was a teen, his entire life was dedicated to finding out the truth behind the Templars and Assassin's, it was dedicated to learning truly why his family had to die. And after decades spent chasing after that truth, he learns that the truth will never be his. As he said, he is merely a messenger to pass the truth into the future, but it will never be his to understand. And that moment of realization is when he decides to retire. Because the driving force behind his search is no longer there.
I don't understand how or maybe its because I've played these games since the beginning. He was literally the first Assassin and he's either mentioned or referenced in virtually every game (even those he's not his outfit is usually always a bonus choice even in Valhalla and Mirage).
@@jazz265 His own game never really got remade or renastered and if you read the codex stuff he was quite profound. Like if it wasn't for Altair the Assassins wouldn't exist as we know them
I agree…Altair is the GOAT as proven by the legacy he left behind…an impact that no other Assassin has left to this day in the whole franchise. Shame that the only game solely dedicated to him is skipped by many because of the popularity of AC2 and because of the fact AC1 never got remade/remastered for newer consoles. Still I always recommend new people to never skip AC1
34:47 Fun fact That apple prolonged his life and kept him decently healthy if I’m correct Usually most people in his era would barley make it to there 30s Being 50 years old was the 100 of that timeline The fact that he lived to his 90s is more than impressive . You can see as soon as he lets go of it he starts struggling to move even more than usual and starts going blind trying to find or feel the chair and trying to keep his balance too because the apple kept him from feeling the full effects of aging like going blind, not being able to stand and so on 35:20
I actually don't know about that, that's a pretty fun fact, i thought Altair moved like that simply because he's already too tired, old, and just waiting until his time comes.
I'm not trying to detract from your point about the Apple's possible effects on him, but I wanted to add that it's a common misconception that everybody died young in that era. It's true that life expectancy was pretty short, but that's because that is an average. It's so short mostly because of the extremely high child mortality rate, wars and diseases - "unnatural" deaths. If you survived those critical childhood years you had a pretty good chance of getting fairly old - people didn't die of old age at 40 or 50.
Sorry, but as far as I know. There's nothing in the lore about the apple prolonging his life. It wasn't explained anywhere that pieces of eden had an effect on a person's age until Odyssey, I believe.
Farewell, yusuf tazim da istanbul 😔. If everyone thought as prince suleiman thought, maybe humanity would be better off. Altair entered the vault hood off, after saying goodbye to Darim. Revelations is honestly the top 5 best AC game in the series It covers the story of Ezio & Altair really well It's also the first crossover between Assassin's Creed protagonist in the series The soundtrack is beautiful The exploration, even though it's slow, the locations are so beautiful, i'd say even more beautiful than 2 & Brotherhood Anyway, i know it's sooo late, since you already finished both Brotherhood & Revelations But personally, i think it'll be nice if you did a little grinding for Assassin Recruits early on (making sure that you have at least 6 on max level), because they're such a great help and just makes the game more fun, at least to me If you ever want to play AC3, Assassin Recruits also exists, even though there aren't much chance to utilize their skills in the main story, they can still provide enough help
45:46 Actually Jess…he used the Apple for a long time even though it’s not shown…All the knowledge he gathered…preserved it in the codex pages…the keys…and then used it to lead the Assassins for so many decades…all or most of that came from using that Apple.
I feel bad for calling Clay(16) creepy, at the end he took one for the team, even after all he’d been through… Im glad I waited this long to play revelations, since I could appreciate the story more now.

Are you going to play the colonial saga (AC3, Black Flag and Rogue)? There's also two lengthy DLC's called Liberation and Freedom Cry to accompany them too. The saga's a little controversial for several reasons but they're quite complex and enjoyable in their own right. But before anything you should watch the short film AC: Embers. It brings Ezio's story to its full closure.
I remember I cried after finding Altair too :') I really liked AC3 and then played AC4 but after that, I left it. I went back to play Syndicate just because I really liked London at the time, but they made some really stupid decisions to go back to Eurocentric points in history, the only one about Spain that I was excited about was used for a movie that was meh, so we never got to play there.
There is a short little animated movie you can find. It's called, "Assassin's Creed: Embers".
