Recommending 10 gallons is a terrible idea. These fish are messy and need larger tanks. Gravel is also not a good recommendation. Anyone doing a monthly cleaning routine shouldn’t be keeping fish. Unless you have multiple canister filters and heavily planted tank 10-15% water changes is not enough. This video is very misleading to new fish keepers looking to try to keep goldfish.

It’s based on your goldfish size. It’s called as at minimum 10g in video, anything bigger is always better. you don’t see, how many people keep them in bowls. Ofcourse Goldie’s are messy and need more space.

@@fabianines6112 Agreed! I’m starting with two baby fantails, in a 20 long, they will have gravel and big rocks for hiding, I’m putting in some plants and will see what happens, blank boring tanks just do not appeal to me nor do they look natural. 👍🏻

🤔 gravel is not good for goldfish. The goldfish can suck it up when the forage for food and they will choke on the gravel. Sand is better and more natural to the goldfish.
Stay away from any decorations that are sharp/ pointed , abrasive, or made from cheap plastic.

I use below ones on my tanks. In general, sponge produce beneficial bacteria better. Yeah, its old fashioned, but works well.

    Hello Aqua diary
My parents finally let me to buy a goldfish, under the condition that it won't take much space or expansive equipment. So I will him to live in a bowl , without a filter , and maybe without plants... Please , tell me , how will I keep him healthy and happy in such a small bowl ? I will gather money to upgrade it of course with plants later once my parents see that I take it seriously, but until them I don't want my little guy to be unhealthy. Any advice ? Tell me and you will earn a subscriber

Congratulations on your new pet! Here are few tips to keep him healthy in small space,
      1. Feed him right amount. Feed only once in a quality he can consume within 2 minute.
      2. Change 50% water every 2 days.
      3. Clean the poop using turkey Baster or similar thing.
      4. Keep the tank space clean to swim, No toys inside please.
      5. Add plant, if possible.
Keeping your goldfish is important for me than gaining a subscriber. But if you are interested watching our fish care videos, definitely recommend subscribe. We need subs like you really care about fish. Happy fish keeping!

UGH!!!!! Get a betta instead!!! Your goldfish will outgrow a bowl and it’s cruel to keep him in such a cramped area, you WILL need at least a 20 gallon tank when you fish gets bigger. Even a Betta needs at least a 5 gallon and the whole set up will cost about $100.00. Don’t cheap out on a fish, they need proper care and environment! Best yet, get Triops, the least expensive, little space, cool creatures and only live a few months so when you lose interest they will be dead. 😂

@@charlottesmom turns out I bought a big ahh aquarium 40+ litres with filters and real plants. My poor guy after a long run , he fell sick , I got him medicine, fed him veggies , and did anything I could . He died a few weeks ago , turns out the water quality of my tap water although dechlorinated was very bad, it was really hard water . I am now using water from my water filter , and I help my sister take care of her betta fish, and he has improved with the cleaner water. I will forever miss you , black moon 🕊️💔
