As someone who works for a solar lighting manufacturer - this is a great review - and a great showcase of how these systems are sold with inaccurate and dishonest information. It is frustrating to work in an industry where people will compare that "toy" solar light with one manufactured by a reputable company. This also leads people to believe that all solar lights are like this - when that is not the case at all. There are a handful of us manufacturers who provide accurate data and systems built to last. Thanks for your review!

Chinese suppliers from Zhongshan always overstate much LED's real power, they make 20W as 1000W! so when you buy solar light, check solar panel power and battery's capacity and you can calculate the real watt.
This light doesn't even pass a smell test because it's own stated specs and claims are exposing it. A 1000w LED running at 30% would drain a 20Ah battery in less than an hour, while they claim 2 days of battery life.
You are right about the watt rating. It is not a measure of power consumption, it is an equivalency rating compared to traditional incandescent lights. When LED lighting first became available to consumers, manufacturers realized that consumers were familiar with measuring the light output of a bulb by the power it consumed. Since LEDs consume so little power, they had to add an equivalent watt rating to allow consumers to compare the output of LEDs to the output of traditional lights.
Excellent review! I really appreciated the overhead shots so that we could see the intensity and coverage area of each light. The use of a light meter was a surprise and that's what really made the difference for me. Descriptions of light products tends to be exaggerated (putting it mildly) so it's nearly pointless to go by what you read on some of those. Thanks. Liked and subbed.

I had two of these several years ago. Both failed right away. Parts fell off in the wind and they became a dangling string of parts connected by wires. I tried to rebuild them but to no avail. I finally just discontinued them. I still have all the parts in a cardboard box in my shop. Not worth the time to install.
We have a couple two 200W AC LED lights, one on the front lawn and one on the inner yard (200W true consumption). I prefer that solution as it is driven by my solar panels on the roof (16800Wp). Due to maximized govt. subsidy this year, we will wait to get batteries until 2024 when we get another SEK 100.000 (about US$9100) in subsidy, but after that, we are pretty well equipped to use AC lighting outside. Now it is more that we save on the electricity bill during the day to "have left" for night lights. Great video, and as said very nice with the drone view to see the difference 👍 I think installing premium solar panels on the barn/garage is better than relying on (probably) less quality panels on every device, I don't mind installing some cabling to make it work, but I do see that for some it is more convenient to have all-in-one lights.

Then we won’t have to worry about matching up solar to a usage 1:1 like these products do.
Like most Chinesium products you have to use a little common sense and ignore the ridiculous claims, for example there is no way that a home owner grade 120 volt shop-vac has anywhere near 6.5 HP, my three phase 240 volt Bridgeport milling machine only has 1.5HP and is far more powerful than any shop vac that is sold at a big box store. Those shop vacs and these lights have a small fraction of the stated power output but as long as they do the job satisfactorily that is what matters I just wish they would not make them so cheaply so they would last a bit longer.
Definitely not 1000 watts. I got one 1/6 that’s size and it does a great job. They should just be honest. These types of lights are decent. Mine was all metal.

Hopefully once solar power is made cheaper and easier, they will be at high scale and optimized for getting the most power.
It's always good to have realistic expectations, and I agree about the quality of some products.
Definitely not 1000 watts. I got one 1/6 that’s size and it does a great job. They should just be honest. These types of lights are decent. Mine was all metal.
Thank you so much
You're welcome
I think that light needs to be opened up!
1000watt = 100 watt in led like 26 watt cfl is equivalent to 100watt old school bulb …
I have all kinds of outdoor solar lighting. My regret is buying 2 of them. Definitely no bang for the buck.
What a good brand I can look into
@@smokeyhb1 what kind of area are you lighting
@@offgridamy717 around my house but I want bright ones
@@offgridamy717 a half acre lot with a 2 story building on property
@@smokeyhb1 I find the little solar flood lights much better. They come with own panel and about 10 feet of cable. One problem I had with street light design was sun direction didn't allow me to place them where I needed lighting
Very nice unboxing solar LED street light video.
some folks indicated, on test of this unit, that it has a remote and you can change the brightness...apparently it is dimmable. You might want to try this again and this time, give the product a fair handshake...and how much did you pay for this ? also, editors have a CG capablilty...aka text overlay....use it whenever you are communicating information as numbers...thanks
1000w lol heatsing 1kw its big problem and supply battery... this light power is 20w max
I have same like that and its 3000W
Hey buddy I know you have some on your house and I know them things are bright as hell can you send me a link to those I would like to get me some of those cuz I know those are really bright I appreciate your brother I know this is an old video so thank you

@BlenderRookie many times but I still smile every time. Hoping to be in a movie as a "in the past" doppelganger for him! 🤞
@@NaterTater Of course you are a bit younger!
When it comes to lights like the one in this video, I never have understood why they feel the need to over sell them and provide absurd specs. The light itself seems totally decent, even at that performance level and price.. I seriously think they would sell more if they provided actual true specs.
1 Kilowatts streetlight
The 150 is better

Think u got burnt buddy 😮

THANKS FOR THE LIGHT POLLUTION CREEP
you're welcome 🙄
Fake marketing
Garbage. Mine didn't last one year. Circuit board fried and corroded.
you can try our production. Many Chinese manufacturers give false parameters that do not reach the actual power.
Solar one is crap as always regenerables suck
Well it's good if you have no power.
You could save a lot of electricity money and you called it suck? Cool story.
@@AarozEzio its not about saving power its about having a light. Chinese manufacturers lie about specs and thats why they have bad products
@@Chris-hw4mq that's why you need to choose carefully and do research when buying.
What about michigan winters
I wouldnt go for this specific light. The price to performance ratio is poor.
What if you don't get direct sunlight
It wont work without good direct sunlight
I've got 2 and I love mine!
Thanks for debunking this!
