    I feel that I've seen soo many people break tos, that you're only a target if you hit certain metrics that'll let them make you an example.

    Just on the starting point real qucik Twitch afffiliate says you cant stream on another platform at the Same time you do on Twitch and you need 24 hours before you can put the streamed Twitch content on other platforms..

    I was offered the affiliate a few months ago and i declined as it's not my goal and it would cause me to lose my full time job since i work from home. if twitch does die out, i'm switching to RUclips. While RUclips has it's issues..it is the only other option for me in regards to streaming

    So I think you make a valid point that affiliate doesn’t offer enough benefits to justify the exclusivity clause, but I think just ignore it, is not the best or only answer. You laid out the problem in detail but didn’t offer details for other solutions or maybe more constructive ways to rebel. I do appreciate this video. People are talking about how the new twitch updates don’t affect the affiliates, but we have a hard enough time getting new viewers through preroll ads killing the vibe. So more ads will deter new viewers even more.

      The only solution is to abandon Twitch because they aren't going to listen

      I quite literally said to ignore that clause and mulitstream and a other video is dropping tomorrow about how to take advantage of this chaos going on right now. So I don’t understand where you’re coming from but thanks for the comment :)

    I hear what you're saying, but right now I'm just doing this for fun, I don't expect any money and what little I may or may not get is just a little bonus.
    I'm stuck to Twitch because direct streaming from a PS5, that's your only option.

    • @xpresso_joe

      I started streaming on console also and twitch was the only option almost 10 years ago. As long your having fun, that all it counts.

      @@GingerPrimeGaming I think you missed my last sentence. It's called Direct Streaming when you use a PS5 or Xbox to stream and Twitch is the only way to do that. RUclips is just uploading videos you save.

      @@GingerPrimeGaming so console streaming is very limited if you do not have a computer with the capture card. Right now, the platform available is twitch and other small platforms. Mostly in a foreign country

  • @xpresso_joe
    @xpresso_joe 2 года назад +1

    So yes and no, depending on your commitment. If you think streaming as a hobby and do not care/lazy to make other content then its fine. Now if you want to make content as a full time job, then yes it is a scam. I agree with you that twitch is doing all it can to make people come to the platform and watch streamers. Lowering the payout from 100 to 50 dollars still not enough for those who want to grow. I have worked with many creators and told them if they want to become full time, they have to expand outside of twitch. With YT and their minor monetization change, its gives them a upper hand over Twitch. I would like to hear from others about this topic.

      The problem with RUclips is that it is an anti-gaming platform. Its algorithm relegates things like let's plays or even highlights to the back. Because of this, it is far more difficult to be discovered or build an audience on RUclips than it is on Twitch. Twitch is much better for where you want to get started and RUclips is where you want to be if you are known.

    You should look to the other smaller platforms and assess if those are actually worth using, or if they're just too late to the market.

    If you really want to make money work on RUclips videos and not live stream. If you live stream consider a job you have to be there everyday at the same time. Trust me making RUclips videos is so much more relaxing you don't have to wake up by set time you don't have to be there at this at time you can wake up early in the morning make a video and release it later next day or let's say you get sick like I did for a week and a half then you're screwed as a streamer or you have a full-time job you don't have the time to work at your job and live stream if you make RUclips videos grow that and then live stream you will make four more money easier because you already have a head start I would say you need at least over 100,000 Subs on RUclips before live streaming on Twitch if you want to make any money trust me I did twitch and they paid me 10 pennies us a day

      Making videos that are focused on value and discovery for the viewer seems to be the best way to go

    • @Di_bear
      @Di_bear 2 года назад

      Yes, but getting monetized on RUclips is WAY harder for most. And if you take a full time job...man. My channel stalled, but I'm doing what I can to keep it going. Twitch is easy money to help pay for part of the Internet bill, or sometimes all. If I stream regularly on Twitch, people throw gift subs my way.
      Definitely diversify though. I'm on three platforms.

    • @AmericanBoy88

      You can make videos for RUclips on dial-up internet live streaming you need high-speed internet the price difference where I live is RUclips would cost $29 month comparison to Twitch or live streaming it would cost $90 a month from the same internet company you need a stronger computer for live stream you can use a weaker computer for making videos there's a major price difference. Yes you can make money from Twitch in the beginning if you're lucky and yes I live stream for a year and got nowhere I worked a part-time job and put all my time into my stream I did not even break even RUclips if I would put the same amount of effort into my RUclips channel my RUclips channel will be over 2000 subscribers right now in half the time I spent on Twitch scraping the bucket with twitch. My first video on my new channel after learning everything I need to know about RUclips on my first video for that channel a view a sub and a like from some stranger and yes I make short videos and I usually get over 400 views and 30 or 20 likes and no one in my family knows about this Channel or friends I don't even tell anyone about it these are completely strangers but once my channel grows big enough I will be able to make more money than I will ever see with twitch sponsorships free items and they'll take off days when I need them basically I will not have to kill myself hard work and effort improve yourself will always be the best nothing is given to you for free in this world you have to work your carcass off and spend a lot of time to improve yourself at every which way. And yes I deleted my first channel completely my second new channel will do extremely good.

    • @AmericanBoy88

      And the first video I release within 30 minutes I got that View like and Sub on that video I was actually shocked that I actually happened that way I expecting no one to see that video in like 6 months but it shows how good I have became how many lessons I have left working for RUclips is like going to college you do not make any money in the beginning when you graduate is when you become over a hundred thousand Subs because that's how it goes that's when you make minimum wage at 300,000 Subs companies will give you stuff for free and give you even better deals than you got at 100,000 and that's all hard work and effort that you have to learn no one will teach you this you have to find it yourself

      I know what I'm doing because I have a channel which has one video and to over 2000 views and growing and it's the only video on that channel then I have not posted another video for over a month on it and it or has 10 subscribers and it's the first video and yes I was shocked that the channel got that much that fast and yes I am a nobody I do not have a brand yet

      @@GingerPrimeGaming Being a pushover on Twitch is a recipe for disaster, I know I used to stream there for quite awhile and I found out the hard way :( - everything from getting stream sniped, chat demands, chat toxicity, viewers constantly begging to play or join your game, viewers who were only there for the game you're playing and not to support you as the streamer, viewers who can't take NO for an answer and then pressure you into letting them into your game lobbies to play along side you even when you're not comfortable with it. It honestly made me hate streaming and even video games in general the more this went on! And then even on the days I caved here and there out of the kindness of my own heart (which I now regret) letting those viewers join in the game wasn't enough, they would only join (in some cases, which goes back to the stream sniping I mentioned above) just so they could grief, harrass and make my gameplay experience miserable, they wanted me to have my in game voice chat on (which I know now as a streamer is a BAD IDEA) and interact with them in the in game text boxes. I even had to turn off game usernames so something out of my control wouldn't ruin my stream. Now I turn off all in game voice chats, in game text boxes, and in game usernames! I feel that pre-recorded RUclips content would have been more of my thing now after going through all this. I've been pretty soured by this experience.

    • @GingerPrimeGaming
      @GingerPrimeGaming  Год назад +1

      The overwhelming majority of people show up because of the game. I feel for streamers who don't know that basic rule. Sure they'll say they're there for you. But the numbers reflect that the majority of people want a streamer to play their game. But that's also how I watch streamers too... if I'm interested in a game and I want their perspective on it. Some streamers grow beyond that, but they also cheat from best I can tell.

    Twitch doesn't own me! RUclips doesn't own me! You know what maybe Twitch will revoke my Affiliate status because of streaming to multiple platforms, I would get a freeing feeling from it just saying, I don't want to be binded in a contract to either platform.

      Nor should you, unless they where paying you for that, direct from twitch, not from those who want to support you.
