After Mahler destroyed DEI I’ve never wanted to play and support Moon studios more than right now. As soon as Ori and or Wicked go on sale I want to nab them
This game is awesome got the game on steam and cannot stop playing it. I hope they take their time and make it a classic. We need more games to be cooked to perfection. Rather than the rubbish that others kick out year after year.
New subscriber here Brian, fellow Catholic and father of 4 with not too much time to game these days (weeks, months, years...decades?). Appreciate the content, decided to check out New World for the first time today thanks to your videos! Viva Cristo Rey!
Congrats on your 6! You'll have to share with me how you manage to play any games at all with such a housefull! I joined your Discord channel and dove into New World today for the first time. Looks promising!
Love that he says we're busy getting more and more updates out. Yeah, there has been zero updates other than hotfixes and a crucible update that didn't need to happen. Other than than the nerf to drop rates there hasn't been a significant change. I wish I could refund the game cuz at its current state it's not worth it.
@@itzthapunk You are right and I'm very sad about game status. They don't do that early access roadmap plan, and nothing is happening for real. Only empty talking.
This is all starting to remind me of Kamala Harris. A whole bunch of words without actually saying anything. Nothing solid or concrete, no actual commitments, no timelines just more of we’re in a good state and I don’t think people have anything to worry about. I hope to actually see something that supports what we hear. Some reassurance of them having the funds to finish the game, an update WILL be out within “X” number of days, here is where we are at on the magic system, here is where we are at with multiplayer, we are on target to complete the game by “X”. The fact that they’re not prepared to have these discussions is alarming. What’s worse is if they released into EA and charged people knowing they were losing their funding and publisher. I sure hope that isn’t the case.
People are UNBELIEVABLY IMPATIENT over this game. Its insane. Moon Studios is about taking their time. They make ART, not rushed games for impatient gamers. Its understandable, but it's also uncalled for. If you know Moon Studios, you will absolutely know that they know how to make an incredible game if you're PATIENT. THE GREATEST THINGS TAKE TIME. Common sense. You rush it, then the game will be complete crap. Just saying....
Sorry for a bit of a "vent" but I feel like a lot of people are just straight up impatient over this game. I can understand the impatience, but all of these comments I'm seeing are mostly from people that don't seem to understand how Moon Studios operates and the game they are trying to create.
I'm not an impatient person at all but they have a clear lack of transparency why can't you tell everybody that you need one more year to make the game perfect why all this little updates and talking? I bought the game on early access just to give them money and make the project go and all I ask back is transparency. I'm not going to play the game till its ready and I don't even need a date but at least tell me that for the next 6/10month it's still going to be a work in progress
These guys makes quality, not quantity. It took 6 years to come this far. Realistically it will take another 4-5 years before their full vision for the game is complete IMO. It's not a problem, Ill wait, what I played so far was really good. Just op the performance a little more. Great game, keep cooking
I think we just need to ignore them for a bit, let them do their thing. It took years to give us what we have now and that didn’t include multiplayer. They are now doing multiplayer which is extremely difficult to implement and brand new content/areas. Even if they did start it all way before July, I’d like to give them to springtime. This is a big update for them
Well, in Silent Hill 2 Remake, HIT Detection was involved. The credits list seven consultants. That didn't stop the game from getting a high rating, but some of the criticism was on the appearance of the main characters and Bloober changed that. I have no intimate knowledge of what else they helped the game with. If it's help directed towards character development as conceived by the developer, I can understand. If it's trying to shove their ideas where they seem ridiculous, look unworthy and unnecessary while trying to be supposedly brilliant, then it really sucks. Developers should themselves get into the history, the terrain of what they create, what is pleasant to the majority, and not try to make a product through a bunch of companies, which are already imposed by them.
Hate when devs put the circle health and stam meter on the screen like they did . Takes away from this beautiful game . Hopefully there is a mod to change it .I’ll await the trolls .”are you a dev …. “Who ask you “ etc.
You spoke about a multiplat strategy around 4:30 and said you would get to it in the second part. However, the second part was all about what Mahler's tweet and the DEI conversation. Not saying what he said or what you said is necessarily wrong, but I was more curious about the multiplat strategy. Af for some feedback / critique I have of Mahler is that the criticism isn't balanced. His version of DEI is a strawman argument. (DEI) isn't about indoctrination...far from it, however I can definitely concede that there is some toxicity in the conversation and that should be called out as much of the current conversation is doing. The philosophy of DEI at its is core is about creating an environment where diverse voices are heard and valued, and where everyone has the opportunity to tell their stories. Mahler's criticism assumes a level playing field that just doesn't exist and historically hasn't existed. The reason some of these stuidos are having to hire outside consulting firms is because they don't have people who can write or draw or have a more balanced perception...ie, not all artist are just able to create amazing art/are even trying to create amazing art, which kind of makes your solution about "just pay people more" somewhat hollow given these same studios aren't even hiring the people to begin with. Mahler is from Austria and Austria has had its own issues with identity and multiculturalism...could this potentially influence Mahler's opinion maybe/maybe not...however, one thing is definitely for certain...the concepts of DEI that have originated in the US, most likely don't play out the same way in Austria, nor do their understandings. Definitely not attacking, and hope you don't see it that way. I'm truly interested in the multiplat strategy, but am also trying to push back as Mahler definitely means well, but creating an inclusive work environment where everyone can succeed isn't necessarily the easiest. I applaud you for creating the video and for talking about the issue, but I also feel you missed some key opportunities to look at the Mahler's comments more critically and potentially even to see where your own bias played a role in your analysis. If you read this, would love to give you an opportunity to tell your own gaming journey and potentially for us to have an open dialogue about the second part of the video (I have a channel where I interview gaming content creators as well as game developers...and potentially we can also talk about what was hinted as the second part of the video :-)
Sorry about that I'll have to listen to the video again, but I think you're right, I just didn't talk about it again, I'll make a note to talk about this in a future video, because I think it's interesting when we look at what's happening in the industry.
Who cares? Grow up and learn to live with the fact that people can be greatly talented and be complete jackasses. Not that I believe that Thomas is a bad guy.
The problem is that many of the current DEI initiatives are against merit and are focused on racial integration at the cost of two certain racial groups. We likely won't see change until these people are somehow forced out of the industry. Paying someone more because of their race is a form of discrimination. If you really want equality, you should be offering training opportunities to invest in your employees so that they can quality for higher paying positions or to pay them more if they are willing to take up additional tasks that fall outside their regular scope of work.

Yeah, stay independent and have a deal that MS just puts a ton of money into your studio.
waitin version 1.0
When’s the full release?
Years away.
