Tissot Heritage Visodate Powermatic 80 Review

Just bought this. My first automatic, I’m so hyped. It’s fucking gorgeous

Nice review. I love this watch.
On the differences, you missed a couple. The position of the day/date window is more centered. In the prior version it was closer to the 3 o’clock mark.
The other difference is the length of the hour and minute hands.
Another difference is the color and content of the winding pendulum shown through the back case.
Also, the crown has the classic Tissot logo as the dial does. The solitary T is now gone.
I believe there is a change in the strap design as well, for those vying this watch with a strap.
Last the profile of the stainless steel case changes. The prior one had a more pronounced downward angle and it was flatter.
I like big watches so the increase to 42 mm is good news for me at least. Looks fantastic, seriously considering making this my first Swiss mechanical watch. Thanks for taking the time to make the video, great shots and informative.

Its case seems far more elegant case than before.
I don't have experience with the previous model, but I can attest to the new one being super elegant. It's really a lovely piece
I have the white dial version. I like it a lot. The handset is the righ size this time ! The curved lugs looks great. The Powermatic is + 1 sec./ day. But the Visodate font on the dial bugs me a bit. Weird choice.
Yea, I've been really impressed so far with the quality, especially for what I paid for it, and this now my 4th watch with the Powermatic 80 movement, and I couldn't be happier with the performance. Thanks for tuning in!

I have the original and it has a much nicer, cleaner dial, better proportions, and the smoother second hand movement. I do prefer the color matched date complication of the newer model.

You were right, Chris! Great Watch! I just got mine. I got the champagne dial one from Amazon. Beautiful and keeps great time for an automatic. It's my first Swiss automatic. I'd like to get an alternative strap for it, though. It's a 21mm,... Any suggestions??? Thanks!
Hi Paulo! You can find some 21mm strap options from Amazon, particularly from a brand called Dassari, they make some great straps, and I have purchased some 21mm options from them over the years. Does this watch look good for younger men or older men? I’m planning to give it to my husband he’s 60+ y.o . I’m looking to find a watch a watch that look good for a man of his age . ☺️
I personally feel that this would be a watch for an older individual rather than a younger individual. I am 43 years old and I love wearing it, the watch is a mid 20th century reinterpretation, so it has a lot of old school vibes to it. If your husband is a watch guy, I think this would be a great piece for his collection

This watch, is cheaper alternative for, tag heuer Carrera, Calibre 5. For me, this watch has only one negative aspect, bracelet. But, for this money, is good watch.
Yes, I see that too. The TAG comes with a good bracelet and a better case design (I love Tag's lugs design). But this Tissot have a better movement !
@@maitrehg In the, tag heuer, is sellita movement. This movement has only 38h, power reserve , in the Tissot, is new ETA, ther is 80h power reserve . But, in my opinion, when, l would like, buy new watch, l see on all, not only on movement. Alsow, this tissot is not, natural oposition to this tag heuer. People like, when watch work on, inhouse movement. My frend has, IWC yacht Master, for 20,000 euro. Hi has, still problem with this watch. Movement in this IWC, whas in house. Via 2 years, this watch, whas 5 time in the service. Always, in the switzerland, becose, in the poland, local service can't reaper that movement. Sellita movement, reaper all watchmaker 😉.
@@adamadamski3011 I agree with you. I am about to buy a Tudor Black Bay 41. This model has a Sellita decorated and fitted by Tudor (T600). I am very comfortable with it 😉

This comes with a caveat, because it is possible to damage the internals of the ETA Powermatic 80 if hand wound too much .. plenty of online references you can find. I would just strap on and let the wrist do its thing the majority of the time.

Yea, it definitely has a more wearable case size, that and you can sometimes find them for $250 nowadays. I do like the matching color datewheel on the new version, which is one of the main reasons I went with it
Somehow the bracelet is too flashy and not future proof. It’s extremely difficult to match your dressing and occasion with it. Great watch design except the 30m WR but good functional complication though.
