    This watch is amazing. My first automatic and I’m not disappointed. I just turned 36 and I absolutely love this vintage look. My grandfather was a fighter pilot in WW2 with the CRAF and this is very reminiscent of a watch he wore. just a gorgeous quality watch for the price point. I paid around $950 all in in CAD $

    Beautiful watch Rob. I’ve got several Tissot’s & this is a great dress watch. The black leather strap looks classy but for me the mesh makes it😎👍🏼

    Call me shallow, but I really love the way the Tissot-logo / script looks on this model. That logo-design has just the right amounts of retro and playfulness. The only problem I'd have with this piece is which colourway to get. This white one is gorgeous, but both the black and the blue are also pretty stunning. Plus there's probably more that I'm not even aware of... :)

    I have the same with brown leatherstrap. I would definitely say: keep it! It is not the most typical dresswatch more a cool vintage look piece with a dresswatch style.

    Appreciate your patience to wrist-shoot for each strap. The black leather is the best for an understated elegant look.

    I got this watch as a gift from my wife for my birthday. The Milanese strap is very comfortable. Because the watch is 37 mm on the top it wears nice with a suit. Perhaps I'll try to put it on a burgundy strap before Christmas 😎

    Its nice to see retro dress watches, I think some people like me are getting burned out on divers. The only issue which may not be an issue unless you want a 4hz beat rate is the thickness, due to the movement used. But if you can handle 3hz they have some really nice dress watches that are thinner and have 80 hour power reserves. Very nice indeed.

    Got one in my thirteen watch collection and it gets a fair bit of wrist time regardless of what I’m wearing. I’ve got the white on brown leather which I bought new from a jewellers about six years ago, I flip watches occasionally but this one is a keeper.

      How was your experience with Jomashop? Are the watches 100% authentic? I’ve always been cautious because of the discounts and due to the high amount of replicas in the market

    The mesh strap looks ghastly on that vintage looking watch. Black or brown leather gets my vote.

    I don’t wear suits all the time but I still have one. I feel a dress watch is kinda the same thing. Also, if you really like the watch it’s much easier to dress down a dress watch than it is to dress up a sports watch

    • @glumfish6862
      @glumfish6862 3 года назад

      Because most dress watches have a simple design you can wear then with a variety of clothes. Polo shirts, dress shirts, suits, etc (the only thing that wouldn't fit much is probably a t-shirt but it depends on the overall look and watch). But it also depends how you like to dress and accessorize. Personally I like more dressy watches and I wouldn't mind wearing them in less formal situations (I am okay to overdress).

    Love the mid-century aesthetic here, what a beautiful watch. There's nothing wrong with having at least one dress watch as a go to. I love chunky/murdered out/butch watches as much as the next guy, but they look awful with suits. Thanks Rob.

    I don't have a dress watch either. Well I do but it is old, over 20 years old. 35mm, it' looks like a boy watch but I only have worn for weddings and funerals. And sometimes a couple times a year and sometimes years go by. So I have the same question if I really need one.

    Nice watch in black, but two complaints I have is legibility with the black dial version is horrible in most lighting, and the movement is rough. I'm at about +30-40s a day.

    • @AaronRobinProductions
      @AaronRobinProductions 4 года назад

      Damn +30-40 is a lot. I’ve had mine for maybe 5 years now and over time the time got worse but very minimal. Only gaining around 10 seconds per day right now after 5 years. You may need to demagnetized or regulate it

    • @stebesplace
      @stebesplace 4 года назад

      @@AaronRobinProductions Agreed, I've always felt it was off out of the gate, and attributed it to the movement not feeling as smooth as it could, but probably needs to be demagnetized AND regulated.

    I am probably not the first to tell you this; When you do your wrist shots it appears that you are positioning the watch too close to your hand and not actually on your wrist. Unfortunately, this does not give me a true picture or perspective of the watch on your wrist.

    If you add a white dress watch, can i suggest one with a white mother of pearl one instead of a metal or painted one? I have a decade old orient star with just a little pearl effect in my collection with hands that rival GS and i own ceramic white Swiss watches. There is no contest. Pearl rules for white dress watches imho.

    Rob, if you were forced to buy one would you get this Tissot Visodate or the Hamilton Jazzmaster Viewmatic which I think you had on your channel in the past? Just curious. Someone should make a list of watches with the crystal directly pressed in to the case, it adds a certain something.

    • @AaronRobinProductions
      @AaronRobinProductions 4 года назад +1

      I’ve had both for years now. All personal preference. I notice I lean towards the Tissot due to the crystal like you said and 1950s vibes are awesome!

    • @mainline4199
      @mainline4199 4 года назад +1

      I had the same struggle but jazzmaster day-date and I went with Visodate why? Because of the lug to lug size...Hamilton always has lug to lug through the roof on few exceptions like jazzmaster thinline (the expensive ones that have the 2892 movt without second hand)

    The wrist is and always will be, at the end of your arm. Not below or on the joint of your hand. Do you know anyone who ties their tie above their Adam’s apple? Why would anyone want to restrict their hand movement by wearing their time piece on the joint??
