    I grew up with glasses, 5.00 diopter high myopia, and yet today have 20/20 natural eyesight. No surgery, no glasses, I figured out how myopia actually works and how to reverse it (and no, not eye exercises!) The mainstream tells you it's impossible - but the whole concept that myopia is an illness, is complete unscientific nonsense (a 100 billion dollar a year profitable nonsense, though).

    quick summary:
    outdoor time relaxes ciliary muscle
    dont wear full prescription when in close work
    for outside vision take off -0.25 from your full distance prescription
    USE YOUR FULL DISTANCE PRESCRIPTION FOR DRIVING

    This video is pure GOLD. Really.
    Thanks so much Jake. I was a skeptic, but all this made so much sense and I had so little to lose with my new prescription of -6.50 OS -6.25 OD (plus floaters and lattice degeneration in a 21 year-old and a nice overprescription, as I discovered later) that I had to try. 6 months after this, I think I already reached 20/20 with my first normalized (-5.75 OS -5.50 OD). It is empowering, exciting and infuriating all at the same time.
    Again, thank you thank you thank you. Please keep the awesomeness up!
    P.S. I'm one of those little freaky kittehs who shamelessly enjoy full-on hardcore science, so please keep that shiz up too, if you like. Which I know you do -nudgenudgewinkwink-

    True. Once I’ve stopped using glasses (I have lower than 1.5 diopters) and took time outdoors and focus on distant objects I swear that in a between a month or two (don’t remember when I started active focus) I’ve dropped .25 diopters ❤

    Thank you for sharing this post. This is a really wonderful summary of so much of the information that I have found on your posts condensed into one poignant video. in fact this has been part of the inspiration that has moved me to take a few months away from a lifestyle indoors in front of a screen and has gotten me to the seat from which I am writing where I have a view of at least five hundred meters out into Treetops clouds and the roofs of many buildings. I am now wearing a right of - 3 and a left of -2.75 down from a right of -4.25 and a left at -4. I have already gotten through one pair of reduced prescription glasses for outdoor distance. There is just enough stimulus with these second pair of new lenses to challenge my eyes when I am sitting here looking far away. there are slight variations when I look far away with these new lenses and sometimes I am able to have excellent Clarity of each roof tile and the leaves drifting in the breeze well there are other times that there is some slight blur. As you have noted the lighting conditions are extremely important and when dusk comes along it is much more challenging to find Clarity at a distance with this new prescription. However I remember the same feeling when I got my first new pair of reduced prescription glasses and after 1 and a half months or so they became adequate for night time use. I can't wait to see how this journey continues into the future and I am so grateful for all of your posts. I would love to hear some more information about techniques or ideas to help even out the prescription between two eyes that currently have different diopter requirements.

    Hi Jake,
    Thank you so much for putting all of this great content out there in such an entertaining and relatively easy to understand way.
    I started natural vision improvement about 20 years ago and had great success getting from 3 diopters down to 0.5. using "Bates" type exercises and relaxation. The key was having an optometrist who was willing to give me reduced prescriptions to back out of glasses. For the past 15 years or so I have been stuck at that last bit of myopia and had resigned myself to having that bit of blur and needing glasses for driving and movies etc. Thanks to your wisdom and emphasis on active focus I am inspired to finally get to 20/20! I realized that I was settling for blur and not even using my focus for stuff inside my blur zone. I already feel more clear and inspired. Thanks!

    This video is a summary of a textbook´s worthy of information. If you are new to myopia rehabilitation, and you are not a vision specialist, there is way too much here for you to comprehend in a few months. But it is well worth your while to run down the rabbit hole and start learning.
    Jake, this is great. And the coda was beautiful both videographically as well as on a more banausic level. Given the nature of the internet, we almost have to assume that you are out to scam us with snake oil and that there really is no meaningful difference between your method and those of all the others who claim to have reversed myopia in their clients. The fact that you are a real person who doesn´t seek to hid his identity, his neighborhood, or his family adds a lot to the impact that these videos produce. Authenticity counts for a lot.

    I'm very new to natural vision improvement and was feeling overwhelmed by many things, ie understanding my prescriotion, astigmatism and the reasons for it, diopters etc but today I'm clearer.
    1. Be outside and experience looking into the distance to balance the eye muscles, less screen time, look at letters just when they're beginning to blur and try to brung thrm back into focus without straining. Also, reduce prescription strength gradually and be methodical and patient. Lastly record progress
    Thank you very much

In another post you seemed to assume that they didn't control for the obvious - the possibility that more time outdoors = less time doing near-work. If you read the study you would see that they state that they had. Can you please be more specific about your criticism, or did you simply read nothing more than the headline...? (again , i still think you have good intentions and Sure- hopefully this works )

    If the focal point landing in front of the retina caused axial length to decrease, then wouldn't it do so the moment you start becoming myopic, and hence you would never become myopia in the first place? Actually, according to that logic, wouldn't everyone who has ciliary muscle spasms (according to you, that's every one who uses a computer) become hyperopic?

    • @endmyopia
      @endmyopia  8 лет назад

      +Jason Woo Faulty logic, not what I'm saying. It's active focus stimulus that promotes axial reduction, not simply passive myopic defocus.

But does that mean in order to do computer work (or any other close up activity) that I need to get different glasses for that? I already have glasses that are below my prescription so I do experience that blur in the distance...

    What are the things to keep in mind while going for a weaker prescription pair of glasses? Is it only the Diopter measure that we should consider, or should any other values regarding our lens be considered too.Ex:I have a -4 lens.Can I blindly(no pun intended) go for a -3.5?

    I hv a question, if u don't mind. It's been a year from now that i hv been wearing -2.5 glasses on either eyes . So in order to get rid of glasses totally , should I stop wearing it all of a sudden or get reduced glasses🤔. I am asking because i cn manage without glasses but with a little blur. And lastly I wanna thank you 😊because until I saw your video I had a misconception that not wearing glasses would worsen my eyesight.

    hi Jake,
    how do we know when it is time to give a break to ciliary muscle. You suggested to do 1 hour outdoor after 3 hours closeup. But maybe there is some other way to know exactly when ciliary muscle begins to have spasm and break from near vision?

    • @endmyopia
      @endmyopia  8 лет назад +2

      Yup. Have some writing on a wall in your room / office that's small enough to be challenging to read. If you look up and it looks more blurry than before, ciliary spasm has started.

      +endmyopia So they shouldnt be used at all? :/ do they make your eyes worse?(i feel silly for trying them now) i have only used them a few times since i purchased them, other then that i just walk around with my glasses around my neck incase i need them, would you reccomend any other options as well as excercises? thank you for your reply.

    What about wearing reading glasses? Wouldn't they "simulate" outdoor?

    • @endmyopia
      @endmyopia  7 лет назад

      +Tom Schmitz Static focal plane change. Still sitting in a room in artificial light, staring at a fixed point in front of you, using about 3% of your field of vision, with a blink rate 5x lower than natural. Sound like good simulation of outdoor? ;)

    • @Supracar317
      @Supracar317 7 лет назад

      Thank you for your answer. So it is important that you move eyes and not stare at a fixed point even if you focus correctly?
