The New Shop Gets Insulated With Closed Cell Foam For Year Round Comfort!

  • Hey everyone! In today's video, I'll be highlighting the process behind spraying a metal building with closed cell spray foam insulation. Since the new shop will have heat and A/C, I want to ensure the walls are insulated properly to maximize the effectiveness of the units. This will not only ensure the shop can remain comfortable year round, but it'll also significantly reduce energy costs over the long term. It should have some added sound deadening to it as well. In addition to following the progress of the foaming, I'll also highlight the installation of metal interior walls. It's almost finished!
    Also, if you missed any of the past shop episodes, here's the link to the playlist:

    Hey Kyle! That closed cell stuff is like miracle stuff lol. Here in Miami it goes everywhere, but the most impressive is when we put it on the outside roof itself. It gets painted with elastomeric every 2 years and cuts our electric bill almost in half. It also is adhesive in nature so it strengthens the roof for hurricanes! So happy when I saw you using it, that building will be like a fortress lol. Thumbs up, all your videos are awesome 👍👍👍👍👍

    Closed Cell spray foam is the best shop wall insulation. Especially for a metal shop wall. Eliminates so much echoing, and it’s durable enough to leave exposed. It also adds so much more structure to the building.

    Nice choice. I'm glad I got the walls done in my shop. Today 80 degrees outside it was 60 in the shop. I wish I would have done the roof. I put in Tin and blow in a thick layer. After learning about the plus side of doing all spray foam, I wish I did it all. How thick did they go?

    • @saabkyle04
      @saabkyle04  3 года назад +3

      Thanks bud, I am very thankful for doing the whole thing, even though it was significantly more money. The walls are 2" thick, the ceiling is thicker, maybe 3-4" if I had to guess. The foamer really wanted the ceiling to be as smooth and uniform as possible. He went above and beyond for sure.
