for those who want a serious answer, i tend to end with either asking for questions or just saying thank you and leaving. you gotta do whats best for you. and believe me, not a single person will judge you, most are thinking about their own presentation or personal problems
the formal way to public speaking is to form a triangle on the ground. you start in the one corner and then go left and stand still, then up and stand still, then return to start stand still. once you hit the end you just conclude based on summarizing your first point "because i just showed you all the evidence already"
This is very helpful! I’ve watched many different videos on this and just couldn’t understand (probably bc I’m 12) but this video was very helpful! I can write a conclusion for my English presentation now. Thank you so much!
@@alexanderlyon thank you so much for making this video I was searching for a thing like this to conclude my long social science presentation. BTW I am 10
Thank you very much Mr. Lyon, to me the best conclusion for presentation signal the end, summarized key takeaway, the ask. Tomorrow I have presentation and I'll use your method.
thank you soooo much, Alex Lyon!English isn’t my mother tongue, and it was so difficult to make my presentation. Tomorrow i will show it to all my school(i’m 12).I hope it’s gonna be ok)))thank you for helping me❤️
Hello, thank you for your presentation. I'm learning a lot from you. I've learned from this presentation when we conclude our presentation, we should consider four things (signal the end, summarize key takeaway, The Ask, and use a clincher)
Good teaching points Alex, short sharp and to the point. I usually end by....pausing... smiling.....open hand gesture...a small head nod and then saying "so there we have it" followed by a statement such as ..."i want you to remember something you've done today, seen today or heard today, write it down, take it back to your workplace and put it into action"....then a simple thank you........it seems to work well and invites comments and questions. I like your teaching style, I'm starting to work through some of your videos after subscribing so i hope you dont mind the comments. Do you do the short videos in one take with lots of practice or do you use notes or even a teleprompter ? It looks smooth and polished but very natural. Excellent!
Thanks for the encouragement, David. I don't use an actual script or teleprompter because I want to keep it conversational. To stay on track, I use brief notes off to the side of the camera just written on paper in big letters. They are basically just talking points. I don't look at it too much, through, unless I need to read a quote from somebody or give a clear definition. I just glance at it the notes to remember what comes next. It usually takes two or three practices before I get a version I feel is good enough to keep. Sometimes, I get lucky and I keep the first take but not usually. But, I try record all the way through so that I don't have to take too much time editing but I do sometimes make edits to shorten it or to cut something that didn't come out well.
Hello But AT the end of the presentation mostly of the Time WE put the conclusion and intro WE summerise the Key point si IS it oblied (if AT the end of my présentation there IS a conclusion)to summerise the Key points again ? Thanks
Great videos! For the signalling part, when I'm using slides I would put my name and contacts on the last slide (instead of 'thank you'), it can be a strong signal that I have finished my part.
Hi, Can you please share about how to wrap your session with a take away, so that the audience have understood the topic and would like to implement them
Yes, my advice is always to practice is 10x and start practicing a few days before the presentation (about 3-4x per day). I have a video on "How to Practice a Speech" and another one, "How to Prepare a Presentation in 8 Steps." Those videos overlap a little bit but if you follow the advice, you'll do great.
i just think about my conclusion of presentation. I want to explain a significance and make a final statement. I don't know how to say it? (i'm very interested in your tips but i'd like to know if you have any chance to explain about my parts of conclusion). Thank you
That's what I'm here for, Aidyn. BTW, I have a video on How to Write an Elevator Pitch (interview with Allen Weiner) on the channel that might fit your interests. It never became a popular video but Weiner is dropping some golden nuggets in that one.
That just means reviewing the key point or main items you want your listeners to remember. It would be like saying at the end of a movie, "Here are the three key things the movie showed . . ."
The video is from 2017. Also, the globe is on a fixed axis. All it does is spin. It doesn't allow for a change of tilt. But I don't think the tilt is wrong. I've looked at this globe many times and it's oriented exactly the same way all other globes I've seen.
It all depends on your topic. After hearing your presentation, what first step would you recommend your listeners take? Make it a simple and concrete step and that would be your ask.
im the best presenter.. when i finish, i slam down a giant batman smoke like in arkham knight, and then i disappear theatricality are powerful tools against the uninitiated ;)
I'm finishing my presentation at 2am and this video has been very helpful. Thank you so much!! I'll remember these tips the next time I have to make presentations.

Very interesting. One piece of advice, though. The globe in your background is tilted in the wrong direction
The video is from 2017. Also, the globe is on a fixed axis. All it does is spin. It doesn't allow for a change of tilt. But I don't think the tilt is wrong. I've looked at this globe many times and it's oriented exactly the same way all other globes I've seen.
