Body Language for Presentations

Let's look at some body language tips for presentations and public speaking. Non verbal communication and body language play a big role in how you come across and should be a key part how to do a killer presentation.

Body Language Tips:
1. Make eye contact and smile. Be sure your eye contact is very direct. Also, smile while you connect to keep your eye contact warm.
2. Post and gestures. Be sure to not do anything like shuffle your feet, sway, etc. Just stand comfortably with your feet about shoulder-width apart. Be sure to gesture from a position called a loose steeple. Keep your hands loosely clasped at about your waist and gesture naturally from there.
3. Pause and nod after key ideas. This will add emphasis and get people nodding along with you. Nodding during pauses is contagious. Try it.

Good day, I am an training instructor for a shipping company and have conducting training for seafarers for the past two decades but still, I have to admit that there are times that I feel that I am not at my best when making my presentations and the simple tips that you mention are quite important especially in my line of work as I handle ship officers and crew who must bring with them the important learnings when going onboard ships. I am from the Philippines and training is my passion and I simply wanted to make a difference as an instructor. By the way I am not a technical person but I teach mental health and soft skills.
